For me, it doubles down between the Faroe Islands and Estonia. Probably the latter, however.
I don't know the exact terminology, but it's the one that the Czech Republic, Philippines and Cuba has. (Large triangle on the left-side of the flag).

The type is a chevron
The flagpole side triangle is called a "pile," while one starting from the opposite side would be called a "pile sinister" because it points left. If it extends all the way, so that the triangle's point is touching the opposite side, then it is called a "pile throughout." This only applies if it's one solid color; if you have a regular pile in one color, and then extend it with further color(s), the extended part is called an "arrowhead." These flag terms (vexillology terms) are ultimately derived from coats of arms, which is what flags originally grew out of.
I'm a fan of classic designs, so I like the Stars and Stripes and the Union Jack, but I also have a soft spot for the reverse side of my home state's flag. Which is literally just a golden beaver on a navy field. It's distinctive, straightforward, and features neither words nor overcomplicated symbols.

Oh yeah, I have searched up both piles and chevrons, and I’m sure that piles are triangles on heraldry, and chevrons are on flags.
It would seem there is disagreement on this. Multiple sources available to me agree that a chevron is a freestanding V or Ʌ shape of consistent width (not a filled in ▲ shape), whereas "pile" exclusively refers to the filled-in triangle. Some vexillology texts refer to such a ▲ shape as simply a "triangle." So it varies. Certainly, in heraldry (from which vexillology springs), a chevron is never a filled-in triangle.
The Flags of the World vexillology dictionary, for example, includes this note (italics in original) under its definition of "chevron":

I have a weird obsession with flags within a flag, like the WW1 Germany war flag and the flag of the British Raj. Also, flags with the nations coat of arms on them. Don’t get me wrong, some coat of arms look horrible on a flag, but if it’s done right and the coat of arms looks decent and not like an overcomplicated art piece that needs to be in a gallery, I usually like it.

It’s an edited version of the current flag of North Rhine-Westphalia State with the Saxon Steed on it.
Putting down my own opinion, I do agree with that. I find coat of arms to be quite hypnotising when blended right with country flags. I especially like countries that put the effort to make something creative about their flag, symbolism and stuff, but still be able to fit a simple coat of arm without making it ugly.
