Proudly in the bottom few percent for welfare (although August merely has no welfare, compared with some nations with welfare spending in the negative thousands). Also, it is good to be an anarchy again--nothing love-fest-y about August.

Our sincere condolences to all those with any sense in New New New Cageistan.

Meanwhile, the Augustin economy has dropped from All-Consuming to Powerhouse, while remaining at 96... hmm. Really, we just want our benevolent dictator back.

Breaking News!

After an attempt had been made on Shreks life by an unsuccessful Blackacre assassin, Shrek Land has decided to bomb the entire country.

Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Interesting post on national economies from [violet] here: viewtopic.php?p=27639229#p27639229
Six years and I never knew that.

Six years? But your nation is so small. I've been playing for roughly 3.

Lawithon

This nation was founded in late 2011, at the beginning of the name release. I started back in early 2010. Overall, I think I have played for about three years as well, but spread out. I just came back after a couple years off.

On another note, the region is 28 days old today, almost a month, and nobody has CTEd yet. I will take that as a good sign (although New Turos seems to be taking a long nap--he probably never noticed that he was ejected).

Shrek Land would like to announce that while our people are living a wonderful life it will soon be progressed farther with our construction on a Lunar Cannon that is now being built on the moon.
Cleverly codenamed; Moon Cannon Apocalypse

Apocalypse for who, I wonder?

The World Assembly, in typical form, has taken the lack of taxpayer-funded liposuctions to mean that all Augustins are exceedingly and disgustingly fat. Most Augustins have responded by telling the WA to take a hike.

In the revelations of the Lunar Cannon, New New New Cageistan does like it's predecessors and relocates 90% of the civilian population to live inside mountains, with the remaining 10% "voluntarily working" (definitely not slavery) outside on farms.

Lawithon and Occidania

Although we here in Coadun understand why New New New Cageistan has taken these drastic measures, we would like to point out that it is highly unlikely that mountains would be sufficient enough in mass to stop a full fledged bombardment if it were ever to occur... Although, why would it? Shrek Land is on good term with the other inhabitants of the Cape. As far as I'm aware at least.

You spineless bastard! You dare insult the mountains of Cageistan? They are the largest in the world, with our smallest ones being akin to Mount Everest. They also have significant iron deposits which help reinforce them further, and makes them the backbone of our nations economy.

Regional announcements:
1. We now have regional trophies. Or, rather, we did--a region needs ten nations for those, which was the case as of last major update.
2. Is anyone interested in having a new flag for the Cape? I made the current one in about two minutes, so I am open to suggestions.
3. It seems that we have been targeted by telegram recruiters--at least, I have a few times. Kind of funny, because I cannot imagine that many founders would leave their own region for some other region that sent them an unsolicited message. Quick PSA here--turn off recruiting messages in your telegram settings.

Also a bit funny--the fact that August is still ranked in the top 1% of the world for endorsements, despite having not been in the WA for years.

http://i.imgur.com/YvempwX.jpg would be a good flag design. I came up with it years ago.

Beautiful. A bit hard to see when resized, though.

For the rest of you, consider this an incentive.

Spineless!? I'll have you know that I have so much spine that I was forced to have it contained with metal rods! I will also point out that deposits of any ores are structural weaknesses in mountains. When shockwaves that pass through the nearly homogeneous rock hit patches of higher density, the surrounding area fractures. So your impossibly large mountains are structurally unsound and living in them is a disaster waiting to happen.

Shrek places a cardboard cutout of a mountain on the boarder of Cageistan and Shrek Land. For those Cageistanians who are... Lucky enough... Natural selection takes its course at the toxic Shrek Landian boarder

What are you? A mountain biologist? Cageistanian mountains have such massive iron deposits in them that are so pure and rich they are even better than Damascus steel. This leads to our mountains basically being made of iron and providing sufficient defense for any lunar or nuclear bombardment.

Due to Coadun's wild animal being named after our Lord and Savior 10 million troops have been sent to the border along with all our military has to offer.

Lawithon and Occidania

I would advise Cageistan remove its armies from our fine boarder lest we be forced to use our Final Gambit...

Two response squads of Augustin Spelling Nazis™ have been dispatched with urgency to the borders of Coadun and Shrek Land to remedy the grievous abuse of the word "border" in those nations.

The squad leader leans his head out of the right door of the helicopter. Grimly, he scans the barren, swampy landscape for signs of life, or perhaps a dictionary. He pulls back in after a few seconds, shaking his head, as a trooper hands him a gas mask. "Truly, this is a desolate, forsaken place."

Shrek himself waltzs into the nation of Augustin and points to a paper which has three graphs.

One of which is titled Stupidity the other Toxicity and the last Intelligence.

He throws the charts on the ground and makes his way out of the nation, before he exits he pulls out an onion and bites into it before throwing it onto the ground. "Aye woodn't do that to you baby." The Ogre picked up the onion and began running through the nations on his way back to Shrek Land.

An Augustin pauses in the middle of throwing rocks at the local World Assembly Headquarters.
"He knows that this general area is commonly known as August and that the people are Augustin... right?"
He pauses again.
"Was that an ogre?"
