United states of gondor wrote:I didn’t even think about that :( oopsI’m good with what Drachma suggested I figured Kansas wouldn’t have major population centers, both because you’ve said that before and because I believe you’re one of the northernmost countriesI’m fine with that is Aeri is

Lol yeah I thought of Topanga as the closest thing I have to a population center, maybe like ~1.5million people?? Idk lol
SKO BUFFS! would be the next biggest city and well under a million people, probably like 450k. I'm thinking total population of Kansas is like 5 million give or take??

Tyramon wrote:Just FYI, each nation is still granted the right to determine the nature of their own nation. If Kansas wants to say that they are a tropical paradise with temperature never even getting low enough to warrant a sweater, that is the final word, regardless of latitude.

Also, I was thinking that the top and bottom edges of the map shouldn't represent the actual north and south poles. Rather, we can imagine that the north and south poles are cut off. The icy north and south are not particularly popular, and that would also somewhat reduce the effects of latitude-based stretching/distortions. I may still put a couple of plots on the north edge for places like Rathoria that actually want to live on the ice. Any thoughts? It saves space for more popular, temperate lands and again reduces stretching but potentially at the expense of being a bit confusing.

I think I'd have a bit of ice on the north end, I had CORGI specifically somewhat close to sea ice for easy research access so at the very least I'd have some seasonal sea ice. But I can justify that with the whole latitude thing, given that I have a west-facing coast I would then get the EBC which gives colder water and generally colder climate.

I’m 5th place in the region for DOOR TO DOOR SALES MEN (incurrence) *thows pies filled with money at everone*

90,000,000 people total, if you are interested in total population. So...probably as many people as just one of Roxium's suburbs...
You have a voice. That is all anyone needs.
But which part do you agree with? Are you saying that the poles should be cut off?

Oh, just that if a nation says that they are in a desert, jungle, etc, then they should be moved or can be asked if they want to be moved on the Regional map for RP reasons, that or cut out the poles. Generally good ideas. Or what I think are y'all ideas, could have misread them.

Hello to you too!

Tyramon wrote:Well, in the map progress update I referred to it as the "Aerlanican subcontinent" but I'm open to suggestions. I just called it that because Aerlanica is the biggest nation there.

Also, United states of gondor and Aerlanica, I could make Aerlanica a lighter blue (like what Monsone has) and then make Gondor a dark blue, or something like that.

Yeah i'm open to being a lighter blue if it makes it easier for people!

As for the continent, we could call it Tirmida, sorta like a bastardisation of Terra Media or Middle Earth.

New Drachma wrote:Call it 'Archae' or something like that.

Also not a half bad suggestion, we should probably make a poll and ask the Cape as a larger whole.

United states of gondor wrote:-snip-

Nah, you're pretty much on the ball; Aerlanica has dropped significantly in population, we're down to about 300 Million remaining alive, losing well over 500 Million to death, disease, disaster, and so forth. Majority of that is offworld thanks to Tyramon meaning little under one hundred million is remaining on Augusta either hiding in subways, in caves, or outside of Aerlanica.

Aerlanica is not yet lost!

Poles could be groovy, but you're the cartographer mate, we'll groove whatever way you want us to groove.

It is also possible that you own a small island in the north, which just for simplicity sake isn't on the map. Another option, but it is up to you.

I don't intend to force anyone to move. Anyone can be anything anywhere, and if it doesn't make sense...well sometimes the world just doesn't make sense.

I actually like that better than Archae!

Also, I think I’ve been good about most of what I’ve done with ranking these cities XD

Ok… these cities are on Augusta right? Because I know you’ve got some intergalactic stuff

The city-states Lengm City and Banramo are apart of the island, so yes. :p

Lol, I love just browsing the web, Wikipedia, and sometimes kaierreich wiki, in class

Idea I just had: Iblion (Or Erich) VS Radika

Radika: Hyper genocidal alien race that has been at war with the Galactic Union for several years. They're extremely dangerous, are more than willing to wipe out entire planets and solar systems, and have no concept of surrendering. The Radika are the reason why the Roxium Federation and other GU superpowers are so heavily militarized.

How do you register for the upcoming nuclear apocalypse thing?

Marionsburgh wrote:How do you register for the upcoming nuclear apocalypse thing?

You must choose a faction, but I am having trouble finding the Augustine Alliance Faction.

Join a faction by clicking on a faction that seems interesting then clicking join faction

TBH I'm hyped for the de facto anti-iblion coalition (Samandra, Mi-Kal, Erich, Ta’lhqejk, Andrea, Azalea, Cicadia, SIM, etc) on totally dunking on him.

But in the sense of Radika vs Iblion, i'm pretty sure Iblion and Radika would settle into a stalemate; Iblion would just get bored and Radika wouldn't run out of material so after a long and bloody battle they'd sorta just shrug and leave.

Oateria wrote:Could I possibly RP as a new celestial?

Totally! Generally as a rule of thumb try to stick to one Celestial completly or mostly independent from your nation, and have a major and minor theme about them!

Aerlanica wrote:...Celestial completly or mostly independent from your nation...

Oh...well...there goes my idea...

Tyramon wrote:Oh...well...there goes my idea...

As in they can't be like "Oh i'm always going to be friends with this nation and i'll serve them all the time unwaveringly"

They have to be their own individual to a degree; doesn't mean they cannot team up with the nation or have some part in their history.

Ah okay. That makes sense.

Aerlanica wrote:-snip-

Ah, okay. I'm thinking a Harley Quinn-esque Celestial of misfortune who was discovered frozen in Oateria while ice mining. In all honesty, she and Oateria would definitely despise each other, mainly because Oateria likes having everyone not be in total chaos and Mandrat...Well, let's just say she does.

Asereia wrote:Join a faction by clicking on a faction that seems interesting then clicking join faction

Which one is the Augustin Alliance Faction?

Lol I think I’ll just stick with what I have
Even in the mainland Kansas I tend to have some pretty heavy snowfall events in the winter and some other pretty specifically upper-midlatitude/higher latitude things going on in northern Kansas
Honestly latitude in and of itself isn’t a huge deal though because southern Kansas generally tends to run very warm anyways so it’s more of a challenge on me than on the map ;P

Bazooka Joe wrote:Which one is the Augustin Alliance Faction?

We don’t really have one this year, stay posted for what’s going on with us ;P
(Though whatever we end up deciding on you’re always free to go do your own thing and join up with whatever looks interesting)

Mandrat is the Celestial of Misfortune, proud attempted bringer of mischief to all! She’s very bubbly, and acts ditzy but in reality this is a bit of an act by her, being highly intelligent, and seemingly pretends to be silly to amuse herself. She is very friendly however and will help whoever she can. Her main powers are that of Emotional Manipulation, shapeshifting (but more so for her own amusement than for her chaotic plans), and some slight mind control, although it takes a large amount of focus and concentration to make someone do something they wish not to.

Mandrat happens to like kind, friendly people over more cruel characters. She doesn’t want people to be upset, because of this she tries to make everyone happy.

She prefers a human look, 5’5 with a slightly slim build, usually wearing a pink suit, pants, and fedora, with a black undershirt and mint green tie. She usually appears as a college age female. Her true celestial form has straight pink skin, with a black dress as well as black hair. She can shift into a “Superstar of Despair” form which happens when she feels real, true despair. In this state her skin is fully black, with a mint sundress with crudely drawn smiley faces on it, and pink hair, and only caring about destruction and annihilation, with powers that make her near-omnipotent. It’s nigh impossible for it to happen, and she can be snapped out of this state by someone she’s formed a close bond with or a very powerful hit that breaks a telekinetic shell, but in her “Superstar of Despair” state, the number one priority for Augusta should be to get her out of it.

She was found encased in ice in a frozen fishery just outside of Vetrorin, Lancrass District, Oateria.

Made a celestial, I'm going to make her introduction to the RP later.

Hey, Guys uhhh we here at Occidania are having a very slight crime problem.

It's nothing to worry about!! It's just the entire homeless population is robbing banks and murdering everyone after I cut the budget of the entire welfare program and disbanded my police force in favour of vigilantes/superheroes.

But in the mean time, I would suggest you cease all unnecessary flights to Occidania!!
