Ladies and Gentlemen, if you please, shut your damn mouths for a minute and allow for me to speak.

So now we all have a problem with the Progressive Democratic Party. That's all right, everyone has their opinion. But to ban a party? I must say this with the most upmost respect to every single one of you here: Shut the hell up.
The Party is thriving to promote an idea of democracy within this region, otherwise we'd just be a region with no say, no self-power within an institution striving to achieve greater power, and we'd just be pawns in an ineffective machine. We'd be muted and ostracised for sharing ideas. Trust me, I've been in regions like those in the past before joining this esteemed Confederation. Look at the system we have in place: An Imperial Senate in order for us to vote DEMOCRATICALLY for resolutions within the Confederation. Oh, but there's a party thats promoting Democracy, so let's punish them.
Our mission is for our regional government to usher nations into a democratic future within the region. To participate in the World Assembly, to participate in the Imperial Senate, to participate in voting and elections, and to participate in the countless opportunities we have in the Confederation founded on the fact we have individuals that have the PROGRESSIVE mindset to open and jumpstart these opportunities.
We support the goal to establish Peaceful Diplomacy, especially when we have an entire World Assembly that hates us already because of our past and what they think we stand for. We are not in a position to go cleared hot when we engage the enemy until it they are danger close, and we need to groom nations to practice diplomacy as a first line of defense. We have to promote the idea of peace until it fails to ensure we've exhausted every means to do WHAT IS RIGHT, and that we prove to the World that we aren't the monsters as they portray us.
And on to the subject you all seem to hate; Democracy and Progress. Its almost as if we have this problem of smaller nations being able to have the ability to have a say in this region. Its almost as if we have this problem of not wanting nations to be heard and respected. Its almost as if we all just think that the World Assembly, a institution of elitist thugs, is the example we want to immulate for our region. You see how the WA abuses and corrupts the democratic process and uses "progress" as a lie to point at your face and tell you that what you believe in is wrong. But maybe I'm the one who misunderstood everything because it's seems like we got big fans of the WA in this region.
We believe in order to make this region stronger, we need to create alliances to build stronger bonds in order to liberate the World from the corrupt elitist that hold all of us, including THIS REGION, down! We want to fight those who use fascism as a means to further their agenda to enslave nations, to abuse nations, and to poison the world. Fascism is not an excuse to be an a**hole. Democratic Dictatorships are legitimate, but to act like pretentious jerk offs abusing others for your own personal pleasure; you can best believe the CDC will fix your issues up real quick.
We promote the freedom to be who you want to be in this region. We want to evolve this region into a powerhouse of free nations, into an institution the Emperor will not have to use an iron fist to rally everyone together, and into a legacy that will forever haunt the WA whenever they see how powerful we have become. In order to achieve this, I believe that through democracy and progress, we will prevail.
For the nations that hate these beliefs; thanks for your input, but you can shove your opinions up your ass. I've fought for this region far too long to have some scrub tell me how I should be thinking.

I may have spoken in terms of my own right as a dictator of my own nation, but I would suggest to you that directing slander to a member of the Imperial Council, second to only the Emperor himself, may not be the best course of action. I chalk your transgression up to sheer ignorance, and thus bear you no ill will. By all means share your arguments, I don’t fault you for that, but know who you speak to before proceeding, and the consequences that your childish insults may bring.

Also I would like to point out as a note that due to Imperial Law, it is illegal to outright ban a party, as pointed out by my colleague the Mouth and Will. I was not advocating for the ban of the party, but instead for a harsher stance towards democracy and legislation to mirror that, on a national scale.

The generals are gathered on the palace terrace facing the sea. They are nervous. The atmosphere is heavy and electric. The Emperor appears with two of his elite guards. All the generals stand up.

- It is enough. Sit down.

The generals sit down one by one. The chairs creak. Then silence. A general begins to speak while pointing to points on the empire map.

- This lightning attack was perfectly premeditated if we believe the speed of the attack. Our main lines of communication have been sabotaged. Our technicians are trying to solve this problem. The last known positions of the enemy are at Sirocco Sud. In Costa del Porto. It appears that an enemy fleet made a lightning and rapid raid which immobilized our troops.

Another general stands up

- Sir. I suggest a quicker counterattack. If we don't react now it looks like their next target will be the capital. I suggest that we immediately send our Bavarium Tanks divisions, our artillery divisions and our men to attempt a counterattack.

The general lights a cigar. The smoke comes out of its mouth and flies away blown away by the wind.

- Do it. But do we have any idea who they are? And what are their motivations?

The generals look at each other hesitantly. Then one of them speaks :

The emperor gets up and throws down his half-finished cigar. He walks towards the edge of the terrace overlooking the sea. In the distance. The islands of the empire. Fighter planes fly over the emperor and head for the islands, where black smoke and explosions are seen.

I said what I said and I will not walk back on my beliefs. Seems like we all fear evolving this region into a dominant powerhouse especially when there are those who want to return it to the laughing stock it once was. I am with the Emperor and I could care less of the Imperial Council's feelings or from a nation that had barely gotten their feet wet within this region. Time to disassemble your statement, brick by brick.

First of all, the word "progressive" or just "progress" is a meaningless marketing speech, its meaning is so twisted by some politicians and their followers i'd recommend avoiding it, especially if you have concrete suggestions - though there's not much in your case. In addition to that, i can barely call democratic processes as "progress" (akin to "scientific progress") where the uneducated, ignorant or abusers of the system have an opinion weight equal to that of more intelligent people.

Now, let's talk about the Progressive Democratic Party and what it suggests:

"Create more alliances with regions that will help us move to the future." - that is not the Senate's concern, but one of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the executive officer of which you have just verbally attacked - which consequently proves that you personally wouldn't not perform even as good as Sir Hunteth Veredon HCF due to your evident lack of tact and professionalism shown by your rather undiplomatic approach. But anyway, i repeat, foreign affairs is none of the Senate's business.
"Fight against all forms of fascism, not just OOC fascism." - please, respect nation's sovereignty and do not intervene in their internal affairs, whether they exercise fascism or not. However, you may always denounce that nation, close borders with them, etc - just not on a regional scale. Besides, isn't this that freedom to express yourself on the international scene? Oh, and the term "OOC", whatever that means, is irrelevant in this case. (OOC: because it's called 'meta-gaming' and has no place here)
"Create a branch of government in which anyone, not just the nations in the WA, can participate in government." - WA membership is, firstly and most importantly, a security measure which prevents or at least inhibits the ability of external forces to influence our regional government through puppet states. This also prevents member nations from having multiple voices in a vote simply because they have more puppet nations. Finally, no one disallows the non-WA nations to express themselves on the RMB or contact the regional government for help or a joint project. Silencing smaller and/or non-WA nations is a myth.
"Create a system that establishes the rules about how we can interact with other regions in a method that is beneficial to the region." - there is a rule "don't interact unless explicitly permitted" - and it benefits the region at this moment. One of the reasons for that is the inability of some of the members behave properly, especially on behalf of the region (see recent IHs). If you're still concerned, considering working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you're free to contact them - but they absolutely don't have to agree with your suggestions, keep that in mind.
"Allow for other terms besides "Hail the Confederation" to be used in its stay." - just a no, it's a historically significant motto. Fearing it just because it has the word "hail" in it is outright stupid.

Let's get back to you though. "To participate in the World Assembly, to participate in the Imperial Senate, to participate in voting and elections, and to participate in the countless opportunities we have in the Confederation..." - sure, do all or any of that, what does it have to do with the democratic party? Nothing, that's what.

However, on the other hand, we don't owe the world (and WA) that much, if anything, so we shouldn't bend and mutate just to fit their ideals. We have our line to follow and their intervention in our internal affairs is unjust. However, then you say how the same WA, opinion of which we should care about, is also corrupt, elitist and just bad - the latter, while holds true, is a self-contradiction.

Then you go off rambling about what you believe in. You can believe in whatever you want, but if you want others to see your way, you will have to convince them, bring facts to the table, present implication chains, etc. And not contradict yourself, saying "We want to evolve this region into a powerhouse of free nations, into an institution [of] the Emperor" - when you serve the Emperor, you're not entirely "free", sometimes far from it. Though i would say that member nations have more than enough freedoms in this region to sate their democratic impulses, and i've already told you why and how to do it - co-operation.

In overall, it appears that you didn't really have much to say, or are just lost in your democratic ways, especially given your especially aggressive tone. You claim to be such a great nation and all, but you clearly don't meet that standard as of now.

To sum it up, none of this will happen, partly because some of these "goals" don't make sense, mostly because they're not necessary or outright detrimental to the Confederation. And this is why the regional government is authoritarian, with the Council and, above it, the Emperor having the final say on whatever comes up from this democratic process.

I've listen to your dissection of my speech. I have my opinions on the matter and I've listened to yours. I respect your views on my views entirely except for the part in which you said I claimed to be a great nation. I am far from great, but the Ascendancy is a nation that continues to strive for greatness. So maybe if you can refer me to a time I did make such a claim.

Again, Sparta, to add on to the eloquent words of Aeioux, you yet again show a supremely childish, ignorant mindset. Going for the experience argument is quite possibly the worst argument could have conceivably used against me, of all people. I am the only surviving member of the Jocospo-Feroxian war from years prior. I have served in the positions of both Minister for War and the Supreme Judiciary. Extremely long ago, I was even made an acting viceroy of the confederation by the Emperor himself due to a period of absence. There is evidence of all of this in the RMB, I was making posts before we even got to the 30th page or the 30th member. Attacking my Nation on the grounds of Experience is the worst possible argument you could make, considering the fact that only Jocospor itself has more history with the Confederation. Even to put all of that aside for a moment, you threw in some additional slander about the Imperial Council as well, clearly showing your lack of respect for this Confederation, and immediately after THAT terrible decision you insulted the history that you claimed to participate in, referring to the CCD as a “laughingstock.”

To sum things up, my patience for you wears thin. You have chosen the worst possible argument, you have repeatedly said things in the worst possible way, you tried to lord your experience and how you’ve “defended the region for years” to an Imperial Council member, and the last surviving veteran besides the Emperor himself in a civil war that happened IRL over 4 years ago. You have made a fool of yourself, and the lack of respect you will receive in the halls of our senate, the laughingstock you have willingly turned your nation into, is a punishment that I don’t even have to use my authority to place upon you. The winds of change have blown over the region.

Parties are being reformed due to the sheer might of the RAP, and we have had a democratic scandal by New Sparta Ascendancy. And currently there is a debate on democracy.

I hope that the RAP can use its power more in the future. But I hope that the RAP doesn’t become self-destructive.

IS#17 is a major motion, the first of its kind, and in my opinion it is necessary to keep peaceful and civil discussions in this building. Please all that are eligible vote on this motion!
