As a note, this is open to everyone including those outside of TGW. Please just be sure to submit your entries with the instructions below so I know that you are participating!

In the spirit of spooky season, we'll be hosting a creative contest from now through Halloween (October 31st) where participants can create an original artwork of a monster or write a short story/description about their monster. These works must be submitted by October 27th when anonymous voting will begin and last until October 31st to determine a winner. Only those who submit will be able to vote

These creative works can be made in any form with any tools so long as they are submitted in a way visible to others. It's perfectly acceptable to sketch something in real life and then take a picture of it, to use Paint to draw something up, or to type up your short paragraph about a monster on Discord (or in a TG). While the creative work should be original, it does not mean the monster needs to be original so feel free to use a classic monster (like a vampire or zombie) or to get creative and create your own!

The important thing to remember here is that you don't need to consider yourself an artistic person to participate. The goal is to have fun and celebrate the Halloween season, so don't stress yourself out over creating a masterpiece.

Take this violent little pumpkin named Steve, for example. Steve is perfect for this contest, regardless of quality, because he's a monster...or he believes he is, and that's all that counts! So get creative and don't worry about skills!

You can submit your creative works either by Telegram to Grea Kriopia or on Discord to Hailu#3271 by October 27th (be sure to give it a title/name too!). Please don't sign your work visibly so that submissions are anonymous as they move into the voting process.

Those of you onsite looking to submit can possibly upload an image onto Imgur and share that Imgur link with me via telegram, possibly post a dispatch that you link only to me, or copy and paste your paragraph short story/description to me via telegram. Those of you on Discord can share the image or writing directly with me via DMs.

A general reminder that creative works should stay within site rules and follow PG-13 guidelines or else face disqualification from the contest.

Voting

Voting will last until October 31st

Following the submission deadline, I will collect all of the submissions into a dispatch that I will post after assigning each submission a letter. Participants will then vote on their top three choices in no specific order using the assigned letters, remembering that the ranking order does not matter and submit their votes back to me either on TG or Discord.

Everyone will be informed once the voting dispatch is available and will have until the voting deadline to pick their top three. The submission with the most inclusions overall will win. Those who do not vote will be disqualified from the contest :(

A sense of foreboding filled Schmaltz as he and Faerwyn descended through the clouds obscuring the Grey Warden stronghold Libcord. The burning in his bloodstream could only mean one thing. The Blight is on the move. 'Let's hope the Wardens have the watch tonight', he mused to himself.

As Faerwyn lightly touched down before the keep's door, a familiar voice boomed down from the battlements:

"What brings you out of your encampment this fine night Schmaltz?"

"You know why I'm here."

"What's the password then?" Hyred replied cheekily.

".Here is your password." Schmaltz dug his heels into Faerwyn's ribs and she reared her head with a sudden intake of breath.

"Ok, ok, just call off that bloody dragon of yours!"

Schmaltz smiled wryly as he patted his friend's neck to calm her. The great stone door swung open, and through it strode Hyred, equipped for battle. The nickering of agitated warhorses echoed from within the fortress walls. Schmaltz slid to the ground and the two warriors exchanged a hearty handshake.

"What news have you, Commander of the Grey?"

"Significant darkspawn activity throughout the realm." he replied. "Small groups of skirmishers utilising speed rather than brute force."

"Hmm, taggers eh? Do we have the numbers to repel them?"

"I'm not sure bu-"

"Where's Drake?" Schmaltz interrupted. "Tell him to push his fat ass away from the dinner table and earn his keep."

"I heard that."

Schmaltz turned on his heel with a grin.

"Well met, Drake. About damned time too. I hear you've been searching the world for fantastical creatures. Looking for new recipes, no doubt?"

Drake snickered and advanced towards the two. He suddenly froze mid-step.

"I see you brought that with you." His eyes narrowed as he looked toward Faerwyn. The Fire Drake was watching him keenly with glinting yellow eyes.

"Of course I did, she missed you."

"No, she bloody well did not." Drake grumbled. "My ass is still smouldering from the last time we crossed paths."

Schmaltz and Hyred burst into raucous laughter at the memory of that encounter.

"I told you before. She thought you were a burglar, come to make off with her precious treasure."

Drake's face visibly darkened at the jibe. "I'm no burglar. Just keep her far away from me, alright?"

Schmaltz' intended reply was cut short by several thunderclaps overhead. The three Wardens exchanged a knowing look. The portals were opening. It begins.

"To battle! Spare no darkspawn from the mercy of your blades!" Schmaltz shouted as he leapt onto Faerwyn's back, eyes focused on the nearest portal.
