The legion mob gets bigger and it is growing bigger than the DoP counter protesters. "Get outta here you freaks! Lokalism will rule you down!" A brick gets tossed and lands in a DoP shop window by a Legion protester. They are soon tackled and arrested by the police, now armed with riot shields and pepper guns. The swat commander comes out of the station and runs over to the DoP side. "Where is the commander for North Shibek police?!"
About right on cue, Powerian police cars pull up to the situation, including the Commander of the North Shibek Police. He steps out of his vehicle, and says some things to his officers. They all nod, and rush over to settle down the Powerian protestors and continue the flow of traffic, while the Commander walks over with the rest of his team towards the swat team.
The mob gets a little brought back by the police resistance and start yelling at the Legion police. "Traitors!" "Get the Powerians out of our country!!!" A pepper round from a Legion rifle goes off into the crowd of the Legion protesters and people starting yelling in pain and they start to go back. "Traitors!!!!" and one protester rushes a unarmored DoP guard and jumps him along with a few others.
"HELP!" The officer shouts as he gets jump. DoP officers run over to help him and start tasing Legion protestors.
A group of Legion officers start running over and shoving the DoP officers out of the way and starts hitting them with their batons thinking they are beating Legion protesters. "Back off!" One of them raises a gun and threatens to shoot one of the DoP officers
"Woah woah woah!" He puts his hands up, while also pointing over where the DoP officer is currently lying after being jumped.
Seto exhales softly to himself as he exits the airport with a mask on to hide his identity. Next to him, is his girlfriend Anika of five years. She has sunglasses on, and she lowers them slightly to admire the view of the city. "It's good to be home." She says, with a soft smile.
He smiles back underneath his mask, and looks ahead. He trails off in his head, but snaps out of it when he's elbowed in his side by Anika. "We don't have all day, we have a meeting to catch." She remarks.
Seto nods. "Right this way, m'lady." She chuckles from his comment as they get into a vehicle awaiting their arrival, driving off towards the border of the two cities.
Otto sits in the town hall with one of the councilmen who represent Lubeck region. "We need to get this situation under control." Otto goes to send a message to Seto but all he hears is akzzzztttt from the message machine. "Damn comms are down" Otto looks at the Councilman. "Mobilize the mechs. It will scare them back in their holes and send the police after the protesters. This is a direct order Councilman Fischer!" Fischer nods and presses on his watch a tiny button hidden under the watch compartment. An alarm raises over the city and some people look around.
The guard who has his pistol aimed at the DoP officer looks around in fear. "Oh my god. They did it. The reserve force" Over the hilltop overlooking the town a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahmmmmmm is heard. Thuds are heard and around a 450 foot giant mech/robot looks over the town. "Disperse or face imprisonment.... or worse."
Protestors run in fear and go into shelter as the legion police chase them down.
The Powerian protestors scatter and flea to their homes immediately, with the Powerian police chasing after them as well or continuing to refocus traffic and preventing other civilians getting involved.
otto peaks out the window. "Seems to have worked. We will have to expect a rise in the prison population soon" Otto chuckles and looks at the clock. My niece is almost here along with Seto. Please keep your cool around THE DoP president."
Fischer nods and drinks his tea.
Anika looks at her phone, checking the time before looking up to see where they're at. She takes the time to admire the scenery of the city that she technically grew up in. Seto is lost in thought, still keeping his facemask on like there's some sort of virus going around.
The vehicle pulls up into the town hall, turning into the front doors to let both of them out. They both exit the vehicle, looking at the town hall. Both are in very casual clothing, incredibly inappropriate for this occasion but the only way to get there safely without being recognize or harassed. Anika puts her sunglasses back on as Seto puts his hood up as they walk up with two bags each that they brought to stay a few days with. Seto's cybernetics faintly glow through his clothing, but you'd miss it if you weren't right next to him.
Otto and the Fischer are there to greet them as they come in. "Hello my dear niece!" he hugs her and shakes Setos hand. "Sorry about the giant mech on the hill outside. We had a small protest." Otto does a quiet chuckle and Fischer looks at him and softly says "Quiet? hmph" Otto heads up the stairs "With me please so we can get on with it"
Seto and Anika follow behind, setting their bags by the door to come back and pick up later. Seto removes his mask and hood, and Anika removes her sunglasses, as they're now behind closed doors.
"I assume you both have heard of the rising tensions here between the locals. I would like to make it sure that this is NOT the sentiment in the government. We do not support these attacks on the DoP. We have a new state of the art supermax prison we send the most vile vandals and such. The others get sent the low security prison next to it."
"I'm glad we're on the same page, as we're not tolerating anti-Legion attacks either, regardless of what kind of attack it is. Most people have been moved into a neighboring super city, where DoP's largest prison is kept. I just wish people would understand the complications behind the split city and why it's better to respect one another than fight amongst one another." Seto says with a sigh. "Hopefully sooner than later we can relieve the tensions between both halves of this city."
Anika remains silent, as she agrees mostly with Seto. But, this isn't among her place to speak at the moment. In time she will have a chance to voice her opinions on the matter.
"I cannot change their opinions as the Legion population who are ok with this statement believes the majority of the government to be DoP puppets. However, they are not organized. These seem to be random outbursts of rage." Otto signals for a staffer to come over and he looks at seto and anika. "Tea or Coffee?"
"Coffee, for both of us." Anika answers for both of them.
"I think we'd need to be more forward with how we approach these situations towards the public. The people must understand if we, as governments are on good terms with one another, then hopefully that'd push a more lighthearted opinion rather than a violent one. Besides, the public should be more focused on the future of all of us, colonization beyond our planet, rather than old rivalries between one's nations."
The staffer puts 2 coffee cups and a pot on their table.
Otto nods. "Yeah. I can agree. We could put out a government statement saying what you just said. It could be a uniting factor hopefully."
Anika takes herself a cup, feeling how hot it is before drinking it.
"I certainly agree. I don't know about DeltaSource or New Makasta as they're both having problems of their own, but we can certainly get a head start on the whole 'world alliance' thing." Seto says, picking up his coffee and drinking it.
"Hmph. World Peace will never happen Seto." Fischer says with a snarky tone. Imminently after Otto shoots him a look of you better stop and Fischer gulps and nods.
Otto sighs and looks at Seto "As much as how Fischer put it, this is a true statement. Especially with how unstable both countries are apparently from my reports I have been getting."
"World peace is possible, and it must happened." Seto sets his coffee down. "For hundreds of years, the four great powers of Galria have fought in conflict after conflict with one another, to what end? Technology is advancing way too fast for our own good. Too many lives in recent time have been lost to useless conflicts. Lets take the last war between our nations for example, it got so bad to the point where we had to settle it in peace, because it was so bloody and horrific. Technology is only going to make this even worse, and we all saw how horrific that last war was." Seto says, gesturing towards his whole body and face. Anika looks away a bit, as she was a medic and doctor on the front lines and also was the one to replace each of Seto's body parts, one by one. Not only that, but the thought of Anika's parents brings back regret from the war. They were causalities of war, which civilians should never be but they were.
"New Makasta is in the worse civil war it's seen in it's entire existences, and who's to say DeltaSource isn't next on the chopping block. We can't keep doing this, because if we do, our entire planet will be left a wasteland, and we'll have nothing. What we need to do is focus on colonization and peace, because one day we're going to come across another species much more advanced than us and then none of us are going to be able to stand a chance against them. We can't keep doing this, it's only going to destroy us."
Otto sits in silence for a moment taking in what he said and going through his memories of the war as an officer on the front line. "Yeah... a war cannot happen again. I am afraid to even think what might come of it. We made sure to ban some things but is that really going to stop anyone else from using it? We need to look for other back up planets. Exoplanets. We need our science divisions to come together.... for our survival."
"I agree, space is our next step." Seto picks up his coffee again, taking a sip.
Anika looks up. "I don't even want to know what the Makastans or Deltans are cooking up in their own science labs, so whatever we could be thinking of and what was banned could look like nothing compared to what they could bring up and use against us, each other, or even their own people. There's a lot of human rights being violated daily by both those countries too. Even our own countries are violating these rights, but not to that extent. As head of the medical and research of the DoP, I don't think we can keep up with what horrid things can be caused and done to people, let alone save them."
"Space is our next frontier. Just imagine but possibilities lay outside our solar system. We would have to come up with something like that though so it would not take 200 years."
Otto agrees and looks at Anika. "it is a scary thought but this is what diplomacy is for. Hopefully we can curve these situations and never happens again.)
She nods in agreement, falling silent again. Seto sighs. "Fischer, is there anything that we can do about North Shibek and South Lubeck?"
"Hm. Oh sorry" He coughs. "I can get on local tv and make a statement on unity and maybe hold a rally"
