:( I suppose I could post about things going on in Wintreath, like our RMB poll...What's Your Favourite Fantasy Race? It's open to all nations in the game, too. ^-^

Harkonnen Prime wrote:sorry i havent responded in so long

im doing fine, lol

I'm glad you're doing fine! I've come to be friends with so many people in this region, but I don't think we've really talked before. :P

Sorry for the double-post, but we have a new poll in Wintreath: Do You Have Fun Playing NationStates?

The poll is open to all nations, so you can vote from right here in New Hyperion! We also have a RMB question going on: What's Your Favourite Book or Book Series?, and you can join the discussion from here as well (or actually post your answer here if you want...nothing wrong with stirring up some chat here too!)

I definitely had fun with it up until around the time I had my mental breakdown and blew up the region. Not exactly the kind of thing you can just come back from, even if it has been nearly a decade. I just come here to vibe, now.

Ugh, resurrecting this alt may have been a mistake. Looked at my old telegrams and was quickly reminded of how cringe that "prank" was. Mental illness is a hell of a drug, my friends. Absolutely do not recommend.

I've been buying up cards lately...the other day I focused on Wintreath cards, and then New Hyperion cards. I was happy to get my first Aragonn card, and more copies of a few others. ^-^

You'd be surprised the people who have come back from just that or worse, and they didn't even wait a decade. One of the benefits of time, I suppose...you certainly could come back from it if you wanted to. But if you're just looking to vibe, we really need to get some chat going here so you aren't disappointed!

You might have to remind me of the prank, lol...I vaguely remember this nation, but that's about it. Defender god...were you having a messiah complex? :P

NationStates and NSGP especially does have a way of twisting people who aren't careful, though.

It was basically just me taking the piss put of defenders in between doing work for The Black Riders. They had “Raideron” back in the day, so “Defenderon” was like the defender version of that.

I say it was “cringe” because I was still very much unhinged at the time. It was about another two months before I finally started treatment.

Oops, meant to post that with my main. Ah well.

Rhina: You know, looking back on it, they should have expected someone would do that and made the puppet themselves lol. Of course, today's defenders do raiding as well...at lot has changed since those days.

Maybe it can also be a symbol of how far you've come since then. It sounds like you're doing a lot better these days, and sometimes seeing how bad things were can also be a reminder of how much better they are now. :)

Post self-deleted by Defenderon.

You are correct that I'm doing much better. Therapy's been over for awhile, and I'm down to just one medication that I may be able to quit soon.

So... defenders are raiding as well now, huh? I may have to get myself caught up on some things, sounds like it's gotten wild since I quit.

I'm glad that you're doing so well! It sounds like you've really come a long way. :)

The last few years in NSGP have gotten complicated. A few raider organizations, most prominently the Brotherhood of Malice, has been poking various regions in the eye...particularly The North Pacific and Europeia, which are now aligned with defenders (though still maintain an Independent ideology), leading various regions to declare 'war' on them. I guess in war thing get turned upside down...the last big invasion was on Solidarity, which was either a joint NSLeft frontier region (where new nations can spawn) or was a recruiting ground and asset for The Communist Bloc, one of the BOM's biggest allies. It somehow managed to even spark a contentious discussion in Wintreath, which hasn't been involved in R/D in years!

Sorry for the double-post, but we have a new weekly question over in Wintreath: What are you thankful for?

Given that tomorrow is Thanksgiving in America, it seemed to make sense. Feel free to post on Wintreath's RMB or just post here...nothing wrong with having more conversation here, too. ^-^

Army? Between us two and Miricano we have all the main branches covered.

Thats good to hear. It has been quite a while.

I just finished my training last night. I got myself the title of distinguished honor grad for my class. All that's left is turning in gear and then the graduation ceremony. Graduation is in a week, and I'll be leaving for my duty station same day.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was lazy, but now I'm trying to get back into the routine and it's a little jarring on my system lol. I'm just glad I'm getting things in gear today instead of tomorrow when I have work on top of that.

Congratulations on finishing your training! It seems like just yesterday we were chatting while you were on your way to basic (though it's been 146 days according to your Steam lol), but even from here it's obvious that you've come so far. You seem to have slayed every challenge before you, and you've become an even more inspirational person in the process. ^-^

I take it you're still excited now that you're done with all the training stuff. :P

I'm absolutely still excited. I'm actually even more excited now than when I left for basic training. I'm also more anxious now, but I think part of that is just stressing over the fact that it's not set in stone if I can go home for Christmas or not. I have to figure that out, but I can't do that until I get to my unit later this week. I swear it's giving me more gray hairs.

You're too young for gray hairs, Mister People Mistake Me for Being 19. :P

I hope everything works out for you, but if not I'm sure you'll celebrate Christmas the best you can, wherever you are, and make the best of it. And you have your friends elsewhere, too! ^-^

I would probably have grey hairs if I didn't shave my head once a week. Never gets long enough to tell. Hairline is definitely beginning to recede, though!

One of the few things I like about my physical body is my long hair. Thankfully no grey hairs have seeped there yet.

My beard is a whole other story...just in the last two years, too. v_v

Am I going to have to call you Greybeard now?

Joking aside, gray hairs that come with age should be looked at as experience markers instead of "oh no, I'm dying". If you're 18 years old with gray hairs, you're clearly doing something wrong. I had someone who went through basic training and AIT with me go from no gray hairs to way more gray hairs than me, and he's still so young. The guy was stressed too much about I don't even know what.

No. You absolutely are not going to have to do that. I trimmed my beard today anyways, so you can't even really see them lol.

You know, not everyone can breeze through basic training and AIT the way you did. Some people actually stress out over it. :P What you say makes a logical sort of sense, but I think people equate being old with being unattractive, especially in a gay community that values youthful-looking guys. I'm honestly not even sure if mine is age or stress, considering what I've gone through the last few years.

I'm definitely gonna call you Greybeard now.

That may just be the younger gays online projecting that view of the gay community. I think you'll find gays your age who would like to be with you if you went around and looked for them in person.

The way this is phrased makes it sound like your beard is growing out of something other than your body. Is it a soul beard? Would that make you an old soul, then? :P

You do that and I'll starting flinging around the word delicious again.

It's not really about finding somebody. I'm very particular about the sort of person I want, and I'm not willing to settle, so whatever happens happens. I guess it's more that I want to be if at least average attractiveness, and grey hairs aren't exactly seen as attractive lol

I suppose it depends on where 'whole other story' applies to. I don't know about old soul...if anything I've always felt younger than my physical age. Maybe it's just the stubborn belief that old people are fogey stogey and I am not. :P

I like how the game thinks I'm an "inoffensive centrist democracy," but if you actually look at my policies it's just insane nonsense.
