The North American Technate of New ThornyThorns is a highly advanced nation where the smartest people rule. With its surplus of advanced technology the military is kept in top shape with powerful weapons and armor. However the nation does not care much for the outside world and merely sees it as an opportunity to test new inventions.
The confederacy of Albaaa is a nation which is mainly a loose confederation of the clans of Scotland and Ireland. There is a Council of the Clans and they pick one person to be Chieftain of Albaaa. This person is the head of state and of government. The central government is small with the clans having a lot of autonomy.
King Vegeta III's death
His Royal Majesty, Vegeta III has sadly passed away at the age of 103 from natural causes. A week of mourning was ordered by the Prime Minister to honor King Vegeta's long reign. His grandson, Prince Vegeta IV is expected to inherit the throne as the 143rd King of the Saiyans once the funeral of the late king is finished the following week.
Meanwhile, a large crowd of syndicalists, communists, and anarchists has demonstrated a strike in Sadala, demanding the abolition of the monarchy but was quelled immediately by the Elite forces of the 3rd "Sūpa Saiyajin" Mechanized division.

Prince Vegeta IV proclaimed King of the Saiyans
On July 17, 2300, marks the day of the coronation of Prince Vegeta IV as the 143rd King of the Saiyans after his late father's passing. The newly proclaimed King has promised the people of the Saiya that he will reform the country into a fully modernized state with the monarchy of course.
The new King has made plans for reforming the old man of Asia into the powerhouse it used to be when the mighty armies of Saiya once reached from Vienna to Bangkok. The democracy system currently needs polishing as it rusted after decades of corruption and fraudulent politicians polluting the fragile democracy.

A Viking Funeral & A Coronation
25 year old Ástríðr Eydís stands in front of a longship for a traditional Norse funeral. Inside the ship lays the bodies of her parents, king and queen of Iceland and Norway, Ragnvaldr Fólki, age 68 and Hildr Ásdís, age 62. The circumstances of their deaths are mysterious and quite suspicious, leaving the entire kingdom on edge. As the personal items of the former king and queen are loaded on to the ship, tears begin to form in Ástríðr's eyes.
The Royal Advisor, Jarl Sigurðr, age 30, places his hand on her shoulder. "Don't cry Ástríðr, your parents are on their way to Valhalla and you'll soon be the Queen of Norway and Iceland!" She immediately pushes his arm away and stares at the ship. "That's where you're wrong Jarl, there was nothing honorable about their deaths so that's not where they're headed!" He looks away and sighs, he knows something that she does not. "You're right Ástríðr, I misspoke..."
Ástríðr sighs deeply as the ship is set alight and she stands there as the ship is burnt down. Afterwards, a priest walks over and sprinkles some blood on Ástríðr's face and places a crown on her head. Before she can even react, the priest pulls out a knife and cuts her hand open and then raises it up into the air. "I present to you the new Queen of Iceland and Norway, Ástríðr Eydís, eighth grandchild of Hella Bernadóttir and Isabella Zwaagman's children!"
The crowd cheers as the priest stops the bleeding and bandages her hand. He turns back towards the crowd and holds the knife in the air. "It's time for the feast to celebrate the coronation of our new Queen!" The priest turns back around as the crowd disperses and smiles at Ástríðr. "Congratulations, Queen Ástríðr Eydís! How will your reign be remembered?" Ástríðr thinks for a second before replying. "As one of peace, not conquest!"
The priest is somewhat surprised by her answer but not too offended by it after nearly 200 years of conquest. The Royal Advisor on the other hand, is highly offended by Queen Ástríðr's response as he is decended from a long line of great military generals. He is boiling over with rage on the inside but he decides to keep a calm appearance. He decides that right now is not the right time to confront and question the Queen.
