I see His Majesty’s reasoning, and see the wisdom of this system as we have relatively few active nations. However, I would like to respectfully suggest that in the event that we become a larger, more active, and more notorious region, that the Royal Court entertain the possibility that control of the military could be partially delegated to a Ministry of Defense. In the Air Force Auxiliary, we have several levels of command but for our purposes we could narrow it down to two: General and Strategic. General would be a “get this done, don’t really care how you do it” kind of thing, and Strategic would be “hit this place at this time.” Of course, this is a web game whose movements are relatively easy to track, so it may not be necessary. I’ll leave that judgment up to the King, but should it please his Majesty to eventually delegate small portions of operational responsibility down, this stands for further discussion.

I believe in a military in the full control of Parliament. I support the notion of the people owning the army

Speaking in terms of pragmaticism and not ideals, why?

One person ruling the army is innefficient. We need new people, and if people see that parliament is in control they are likely to join but if it is one person with absolute power, less likely.

I would welcome the entrance of our honorable members of parliament into the command structure of the military, and I do not think that rule of the military by committee would be any more efficient than rule by one qualified individual.

P.S I think I will be drafting up a guild charter for the military soon. I would appreciate input in this respect as well.

I agree with Your Majesty about the efficiency of one individual controlling the military for now as there are very few members and very few operations.

I have but one question. May it be that Parliament establish a regional military and run it ourselves?

This is an excellent point, except that it would require Parliament to be extensively active in terms of military control, unless Parliament delegates this power to the regional government.

Parliament is the legislature.

Parliament is a component of the regional government. Just as congress is one part of the american government. Parliament writes laws, chooses the chancellor etc. There is additionally a split executive, consisting of the chancellor and the sovereign, and the various other organs of government, being the judiciary, holy church, royal court and guilds. Each part serves a purpose as a component of a cohesive whole.

Welcome! I'm doing pretty well, my college courses have been crunching lately, but the classes are very interesting.

I’d say I’ve been better, but also worse.

My school is pretty easy right now, but the amount of SAR training exercises our CAP squadron is doing have been sharply jacked up which is why I haven’t been very active.

Welcome to both of you! Be sure to take our oath of citizenship if you wish to run for elections and serve in government! Speaking of which... Farlandiay elections are just around the corner!

I would remind our Noble friends not in a house that if they, say, wanted to vote on a charter for a military guild that would be a prerequisite.
