Veilism
Veilism is the official religion of Veaetmar following Grand Assent from the Duchess on 23th February 2020
Veilism is a belief that God/s and spirits can only be seen in part, and it is not for us to understand them fully but to seek them and their guidance where possible.
It explores the interconnect between physical and spiritual realms as well as the moments where the two collide. Some sects place a lot of value on time spent exploring this interconnect, whereas others pay very little formal emphasis on the need for personal investment.
Compared to other world religions the practice is light on tradition and there are no notable festivals, but the religion promotes reflection and regular visits to Spaces of Revelation. This is seen by most sects as a healthy routine in the lives of all members, rather than something undertaken only in times of crisis or personal triumph.

Announcement of the Thalassian Baseball Season!
Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the inaugural Sports RP in our region! I am proud and excited to announce that the first sport we will be playing will be the classic game of Baseball! For those uninitiated with the sport the rules are simple to grasp and a complete basic guide to the rules of Baseball can be found 
here!
But for the purposes of this RP you won't need a deep understanding of the sport. The way this RP will work is simple: first you apply to join the RP. It is a simple process where you telegram me, Arenado, the filled out application form below.

Your team names does not have to to be the same as your nation name, you can use a city in your nation for your team name if you wish (Like having your team be the Everytown Examples instead of the Randomnation Randys). You are also welcome to include any other information you wish about your team as well, the players you have, the manager of the team, culture of your fans, anything you like! I also strongly encourage all players to create a factbook about their team and to send them to me!
Once you apply you will be assigned to either the Thalassian League or the Regional League (there is no significant difference, don't worry!). After a week of applications the season will begin and I will be posting results of the games every 2, 3 or 4 days (depending on how many teams we get). Every team in a League will play each other 4 times at their home stadium (so 4 games at yours and 4 games at theirs), every team in the opposite League will play 2 games at their home stadium against each team in your League (same rules, 2 at your stadium and 2 at theirs). I will be using a sports simulator named xkoranate to simulate the games. To simulate the strength of the teams I will be using a random number generator to determine the skill of the team between each post (to simulate hot streaks and cold streaks) within a scale to ensure competitive balance. Don't worry, every team will have a chance at the post season!
Speaking of the post season, after all regular season games are played the best teams from each league (how many will be determined by how many teams we get) will face off in the post season, playing a series of games to find the best team in each League. The best team from each League will face off in the Thalassian Regional Series, a 7 game series to determine which team is the best in Thalassian Baseball!
It has come to my attention that the prize section of this RP may be in violation of the on-site rules for NationStates. As such I have removed that part of the RP, unfortunately.
Rules
The rules of this RP are simple. First, no excessive vulgarities, swearing or offensive conduct (things like 'damn it' or the like are ok but keep it PG-13), no unsportsmanlike behaviour (I don't want to see hostile arguments between people are games) and no attempting to influence or cheat in this RP. Basically, be courteous and friendly to each other, please.
With regards to RP posts, you may RP the games as you like (or RP the most exciting game in a series). If you wish to post solely on the RMB I ask that you keep it relatively short so that the RMB page is not clogged up. If you want a longer post feel free to make a dispatch and post the link the the RMB. For RMB posts and when you link a dispatch on the RMB remember to label your post as RP on the top and don't forget to mention me, Arenado, in the post so I can keep track of the RP posts.

Hey, guys! The Ministry of Culture is currently recruiting. We're very understaffed, and as such, it's been difficult for us to complete some major projects, such as a reform of the RP Rewards system. As the Minister of Culture, I'm accepting pretty much anyone who's willing to actively participate in discussion, who's an experienced or active role player, and/or who has experience in graphical design and other things of the sort. If you're someone who's interested in taking on civil service but who doesn't want a stressful job that takes up too much of their free time, I highly recommend you send me a telegram to join the Ministry of Culture. Being a worker in the MoC is a fun and fairly easy job that can help out a lot. It's a great experience and something anyone can get into (yes, even an NS newbie!). So send me that telegram and try it out!
(PS: Having a Discord account is a requirement for joining. Most of our work is done on the government Discord server, so if you're going to apply, have a Discord account ready to join the government server.)

I will be simulating a week every three days and be posting the results in a dispatch. Now... Are you a member of the WA?
But Sho! Why should I join the WA? I'm glad you asked, theoretical other half of this conversation! Even though our citizens are not required to join the World Assembly or "WA", they should consider it because:
WA citizens have the right to vote on World Assembly legislation as well as participate in our regional referendums, run for a regional office, and to collect and give endorsements, which strengthen our region. And when you endorse our Delegate and Vice Delegate, you're giving our region more of a say on the world stage! You can also enroll in our endorsement program ThalassiEndos which encourages endorsement swapping, incentivized by prizes.
Obviously, to participate in this program, first you must be a member of the WA.
Next, you need to endorse the key 5. Our current Delegate, Zentata, and his Vice-Delegate, Ayeinc, ask that you not only prioritize endorsing them, but also the following nations: Owl Archipelago, Arenado, and Sho. Though you are not required to, it’s important to consider for the security of our region! If you’re not endorsing these nations, you may be pinged periodically in The Vice-Delegate’s Mention as a reminder.

NationStates One-Stop Rule Shop
The Prime Minister oversees the Cabinet, comprised of four mandatory ministries (and any additional ones the incumbent Prime Minister may create for the term), which is appointed to assist with various regional programs and activities. Each ministry serves as an important cog in the machine that keeps this region running!
The mandatory ministries and their respective roles are:
Culture
The Ministry of Culture is in charge of planning, managing, and moderating community events and activity, ranging from games to cultural enrichment to roleplay. They also manage the map of Thalassia, a crucial tool to regional roleplay.
Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handles diplomacy with other regions and organizations. Members of this ministry serve as ambassadors to our embassies and integrate themselves into their communities, looking for ways to strengthen our relationship, whether through official or casual means.
Information
The Ministry of Information ensures our citizens have access to important information and regional news. They oversee the integration of newcomers and maintain our regional newspaper. If you ever have a question, these are usually the people to ask- if they don't know, they'll point you to someone who should.
Security
The Ministry of Security oversees the moderation and safety of our community, as well as the collection and management of intelligence necessary to the Thalassian government. 'Nuff said.

Administrative Affairs
The Ministry of Administrative is a tool for the Prime Minister an his government to aid in advising and assisting the ministries in tasks that may be more cumbersome than their usual day to day duties. The Minister and Deputy of this non-staff Ministry are also tasked with the occasional community review to ensure the government is doing its best to serve the community.
Recruitment
The Ministry of Recruitment is a nation’s first introduction to Thalassia - people who participate in this ministry reach out to new nations to introduce and recruit them to our region.

Wilbur Ross: Welcome back to ZNN News, I'm joined today by Ryan Johnson, as we give you our coverage of the minor parties that are running in the upcoming election in June.
Ryan:We'll start with the Torus Party, the center-right party that has failed to ever gain more than 100 seats in the 1980 election, and has not produced anything or anyone memorable since than either.
Wilbur: Their current candidate is Tracey Brant, who has been trying to gain recognition, but has been trending low in the polls.
Ryan: She has been campaigning across the country, trying to steal voters primarily from the conservatives.
Wilbur: Some key elements to her platform include easing regulations, preserving traditional industries, and cutting down on taxes.
Ryan: She is trying to pitch herself as a less extreme version of the conservatives or the ZNP, and has been launching attacks on just about everybody, trying to make herself seem like the sane choice. She's highlighting her 30 years of experience in the two houses on the trail and her battle with cancer as she travels through Zentata.
Wilbur: The Torus Party has rallied itself around her, with noone even running agiainst her in their primaries, and funding reaching a all time high

Host:Welcome back to ZNN Radio 10's interview minutes, today we will be interviewing Tracey Brant, the Torus Party's candidate for president.
Tracey: Thank you very much, I'm glad to be here!
Host: I'll start off by asking you this: How do you plan to win this election?
Tracey: Sadly I don't know if I can. But I want to become a fighting force in this parlement, but it is not possible for me to win. I will focus on getting as much clout as possible, so that we can change Zentata for the better, even if we cannot get the majority. I will become a force for Zentata by pushing our agenda, the agenda that will transform our economy for the better, and much more.
Host:Well, then. Why do you feel as though you have what it takes to be president?
Tracey: I was born into a poor family, and I have therfore suffered thourgh what most Zentians have at one point. I know what it is like to have high health bills, because I had cancer, I know what it is like to be on welfare, and to fail. I will lift up Zentata and I will bring it into a better government, and a better world. I've been doing it for 30 years, and I'll keep doing it!
Host:You've said that Zentata "Can't be a pacifist puppy anymore", can you explain why?
Tracey: Well, I'm suprised it isn't obvious! We have been silent for too long, and we need to start changing this world for the better, and in order for that to happen we need to get out there and get dirty. We need to support our interests, instead of just sitting here and humming away like puppies who don't know how this world works! I will get involved in Ozovia, I will start putting trade tariffs on those who defy us. I will make our foreign policy a real policy!

Ryan: One thing that we did not get to hear in that interview was her opinion about the environment, which Zentians say is one of the most important issues in this election.
Wilbur: Mrs Brant has been quiet on the subject, but is more of a moderate about it, and aligns closely with the royalist party's views.

Wilbur: Hello there Zentata, we are back with the news of the day.
A landslide in the mountains has blocked off Interstate 8, and just missed the town of Handoler. There were no casualties, but traffic will be stopped for a bit.
A theft from the Zylan National Museum stole around 200,000 Z$ worth of art, including "The Man Without a Umbrella". The police have announced a investigation, but no suspects have yet been announced.
Two Conservative Party members crossed over to the ZNP today, which has just announced their candidate, Dylan Scryer, who has called the current president a "donkey in man's clothing".
The Zylan Zingers, Zentata's National Baseball Team, will start off their season with a game against the Arenado Kings. Lets go Zingers!

I will be using the program xkorate and I will use a random number generator to determine the skill points of each team every in game week (between 0.40 and 0.60 so even an unlucky team has a change to defeat a more skilled team).
