I found the link to the old...old forums. The nostalgia is too strong...and then I wouldn't have to do a ton of extra work...so give me a little time to clean them up, then we will use them instead!
I wonder if any of my old posts are still there...
Good to see some faces from the old days here.
Everything should be there from the point we were attacked and had everything deleted, forward. When was that...2010? 2011? Man time flies...
Hey guys, Fotar and I were thinking of bringing our community back to life, with all the values of old. However, we didn't want to exclude non-Narnian fans from joining. So we thought of creating Cair Paravel, which all Narnian fans will recognise but which will still suit those who don't. From there we could grow large.
This was done 2 years ago, and we reached over 100 nations I think, but due to my real life move to Germany I had to put it on hold. Now I expect to have regular time to make this happen. What are your thoughts?
I think it is safe to say that no one has put more work, effort, and time into The Council of Narnia than myself. I love this region, what it stands for, its history, and the memories I have made here. CoN is special, and the world recognizes that, even still.
But, above all, the region is special because of the people in it.
Having Narnia in our name is an obstacle for recruiting. Recruiting, in turn, is already harder than ever. As much as my nostalgia wants to bring CoN back to its glory days, I want to have fun and build community more. This very well may be easier in a new, less restrictive region such as Cair Paravel.
Let's face it- if we abandon CoN now (though, of course, never letting it completely die), will the region be any different than it has been for the last 5 years? No, it won't. It will remain as a historic beacon of honor and justice, but I am ready to move forward with a new Narnian region.
What Fotar says is true. I understand the nostaglia for CoN, I have it too, it was after all a creation of mine. But we have such a unique, positive, vision-filled culture here. But I want to widen that vision so that we can offer it to the greater public. It is, after all, about us and our values rather than the words "CoN". I hope to establish the same history and name for Cair Paravel, one that we will remember resonated with the NS world, rather than one limited to a small fan base. The theme of Narnia and its cornerstone, Aslan, will continue to go with us.
But we need your opinions, as we don't want to do this without you guys.
I of course will follow the leadership wherever it goes. As for staying here or moving to a new region, I have no opinion. I firmly believe it is the people inside the region that makes it, not the name of the region.
Nationstates has really changed since I died 2 years ago
Looks like I brought my nation back to life just in time to see the region die
Wouldn't a more apt metaphor be to move all the nations to Aslan's country? :P
My region is still alive, I'm attempting to revive it.
Yes, it's a little quiet around here, but I'm looking forward to welcoming newcomers!
