Every other major region dies about as often as this one, TNP and TSP are the only other regions that match our activity

Reply to this if any of y'all are intrested in joining the next Valsora-wide baseball tournament. The VPBL is focused on spreading the game far and wide, so even if your country is unfamiliar with the game, you are still eligible to join.

Fun Facts:

When Hitler decided to test if his skull was bulletproof, Admiral Doenitz took over the running of Germany until he was captured. However, Doenitz was actually only fourth in line to take charge of Germany mere weeks before German surrender. So how did Doenitz end up in charge?

Well, first in line was Goering. When he realized that Hitler's mental state was going downhill, he was actually in western Germany. Not knowing if the Soviets would make it to Berlin before him, he instead sent a telegram stating that they needed to put him in charge to save Germany, and if he didn't receive a response he would declare himself to be in charge anyways.
Well, Goering did get a response. He was arrested for attempting a coup and stripped of all titles and power.

So that takes Goering out of the equation.
Second in line was Himmler. Himmler didn't even bother asking to be put in charge, he simply declared himself in charge and attempted to start surrender negotiations with the Allies.
Obviously he didn't actually have this authority, so he was arrested for attempting a coup and stripped of all his titles and power.

This left just two candidates, Goebbels and Doenitz.
The original plan was that Goebbels would become Head of Government, while Doenitz would become Head of State. They were meant to work together to get Germany a favorable peace deal.
However as his first act as Head of Government, Goebbels attempted to negotiate a surrender with the Soviets. The Soviets just said no, and as such Goebbels decided that hell would be a better place to live than a Soviet work camp.

This left Doenitz in charge of everything.

Greetings! This is a guide to Terrabis-Seran's unique and weird, a factbook on its many peoples, to both keep track and make it easier for all to understand. I hope whoever reads this enjoys it.

Humanity

Most calling them Imperials, humans in Terrabis-Seran make up only a quarter of its vast population. Here we see who mainly makes up this population, other than the thousands of refugees that the nation has taken in since its founding.

Terrabisians:

Terrabisians are one of the founding cultures of Terrabis-Seran, having arrived on the continent when the area was still a mix of tribes. Founding Port Irene as its first settlement, the west of Terrabis-Seran, being both it's current territory and claims, minus the Shroud and the Southern States, has been dominantly of Terrabisian culture. Through the years it has remained that way, bringing with them a melting-pot of groups merged into one by the mainland, where Terrabisian culture first arose. With many different skins, hair colors and eye colors, Terrabisians are the definition of diversity and remain so to this day. With a strong support of monarchist and regionist policies integrating into their lives from day one, Terrabisians are loyal to the last to the legacy of their homeland, and the legacy of the Treant Family.

Seranians:

Starting out as individual tribes of both Keltic and Germanic origin, after years of infighting in their northern territories, these people decided the best course of action was to split from the conflict and unite against foreign aggression. After a period of peace, they would discover Terrabisian colonists moving north, and prepared to fight against this menace. What they weren't prepared for, however, was an act of peace. The Terrabisians came up to the Serans and asked to create a nation of equals, where they would-be partners. After much debate, including the securing of the Shroud as a sacred wood, the Seran joined the Terrabisians to march into a future. Their territory secure in Terrabis-Seran's northeast, becoming the second founding member of the state today.

The Nui'ao of the Southern States:

Having arrived from their homelands far away, an offshoot of the Nui'ao people (A Hawaiian-based culture) traveling to modern-day Yukkira ended up settling in the southern states. While they had yet to be recognized by the Terrabisian government as a major culture before the taking of the southern states, now they are a core part of Terrabis-Seran and are considered another founding member of the modern nation.

The Immigrants and Refugees:

Sometimes because of wanting a better life, or fleeing for your life, Terrabis-Seran gets people from all walks of life. From our neighbors in Araseos all the way to Orientalis, the nation welcomes all with open arms. Entire wards in the Seran Citadel are made up of various peoples, various peoples who are treated as equal as the rest of our people. With our massive welfare system, everyone looking for a better life or fleeing from tyranny will be able to call this place home. With the International Civilian Militia, they will be able to reclaim it.

The Folk

Making up a variety of human-like groups, the folk are Terrabis-Seran's largest population. Having arrived from the Homeland with Terrabisian Colonists, or having been here all their lives, the folk are just as equal as any person, and ready and willing to fight for their rights. Some are made from the usual way, but others are humans transformed. Regardless, all are a part of Terrabis-Seran.

Cat Folk:

Having arrived with the colonists of Terrabis-Seran originally as an initiative to increase the population of Folk elsewhere by the Homethrone, the Catfolk of Terrabis-Seran, as well as their international brethren, are one of the more numerous folk populations. Located anywhere from the cities to the countryside, they walk alongside any human with similar customs and attitudes. Their ears and tails are the only difference.

Wolf Folk:

The second-largest population of Folk in Terrabis-Seran, situated primarily in Terrabis-Seran's northern regions, their vulpine ears and tails identifying them easily, are the Wolf Folk. Living parallel to the Seran people, they would quickly join the new state following the Seranian's acceptance of them. While some have integrated like the Catfolk, others still practice their own native traditions in the Shroud, protected from discrimination.

Fox Folk:

Originally being a minority among folk from Terrabis-Seran, with the integration of the southern states, they have grown to become the third-largest folk population in Terrabis-Seran. From demi-humans with just fox ears and iconic fluffy tail, to the Kitsune, who have multiple tails based on magical prowess, the Fox Folk have many cultures and many traditions. From the city Foxfolk, who like the Cat Folk are no different than other humans, to the Kitsune, surrounded with ancient traditions and magic brought from the mainland, to everything in between. All are guaranteed, and all a respected via the Rites: A Treaty and manual of Laws to guarantee the continued unity of the many peoples, creatures, and beings of Terrabis-Seran.

Bunny Folk:

Considered the symbol of city life in Terrabis-Seran, Bunny Folk (Also known as Rabbit Folk), having immigrated from the Homeland, mainly stick to cities, acting as merchants or helping with other forms of barter. Having been brought along by Terraboxon as an 'administrative group', today's rabbit folk go around freely, enjoying running their independent businesses, and working to make sure corporations never use them again. Identified by cottontails and large floppy ears, these folk only serve themselves, and will never serve another group but themselves again.

Mer Folk:

Making their home primarily around the coast or in Port Irene, the Mere folk use their abilities to act as the forefront of Terrabis-Seran's maritime activities. With gills, fins, or even webbed hands and feet, they bring to the table what most nation's navies can not, a sailor who lives when thrown overboard. Their value as people, however, is more priceless, and the nation is glad to have them.

Plant Folk:

Focused mainly in the Shroud or New Cortheas, Plant Folk consist of dryad or nymph-like beings, each family or collective being of a certain plant. From roses, to poppies, they are the representatives of nature to Terrabis-Seran. While some handle gardens and others act as rangers in the Shroud, most just carry on with their lives, free to not be discriminated against by the rest of the world. Because its hard being green, except when you can commune with nature and help farming go easier.

Slime Folk:

Enjoying themselves in the deep dark recesses of caves or the Seran Citadel, Slime Folk come in two groups, taking human-like forms for easier interaction. One is the dumb ones, the ones who simply take the form of humans because they are curious, and wish to explore all human concepts. The other group however, is a collective with their own queen, working independently with their own lives, but cooperating with the government via the Rites. Both however share one thing in common: they only multiply via the transformation of other beings. Under the Acts of Will that has lessened, but being a Slime Folk is seen as a second chance for those who do not wish to go to prison.

Demon Folk:

Born between demon and human partners, Demon Folk are humans with demonic traits. From horns to tails, to even wings or hooves, besides a higher magic affinity than most, they are otherwise normal. A minority of a minority in Terrabis-Seran, they are protected like any other, and some choose to go full demon, at the cost of their eternal soul.

Kin Folk:

Born between Human and Folk partners, most babies born are still Folk. However, on rare occasions will a child of human descent will be born. In this case, they are considered Kin Folk. While they are unidentifiable from humans except for a high magical affinity, their blood still holds the power of their legacy, and legacy is a powerful thing.

The Night Folk

In the dark corners of Terrabis-Seran they lurk. While the closest thing to evil in the Folk has been human nature or magical mischief, the Courts of the Many Colors are places of darkness and debauchery, of elegance and ancient beauty. While their numbers may be small, all are tied in immortality, in blood, and in the Rites. Their freedoms are secure, at the cost of protocol, but a foreigner without the proper knowledge walks into at best, their death.

The High Fae:

The symbol of the Courts and their founders are the High Fae, masters of magic, elegance, and death. Said to have once been a group of female human mages when the mainland was young, they gave up their souls to gain the power to fight against an ancient evil. In the process, they lost themselves. They became inhuman, beautiful, and symbols of the sins of creation. Responsible for the creation of Terrabis's Vampires and Demons, they seemed to the common man as unstoppable, to be allowed to do as they pleased. That is until Starron Treant came into the picture. During the "Reunification" Starron struck a deal with the Courts: They would follow a list of traditions, protocol and laws called the Rites to the letter, and in exchange, Starron wouldn't gut them all like pigs. They laughed until their leader was beheaded by Starron with a single thrust. Now their ornate masks, symbolizing which part of the Courts they come from, hide not the sin they incarnate, but a spark of fear. While blood sport and magic may still be the way, they resort within the Rites to guarantee not only their success, but also their survival.

The Succubi.

Also known as demons, one-half of the middle class of the Courts. Originally created from the former mage's familiars, they now are their own race. Only reproducing with the specific corruption of the soul, they are the embodiments of Lust, Sloth, and Greed, but under the Rites, they have yet to spread, until a willing soul desires their demonic gifts. While few may be loyal to the High Fae to the last, the only higher power other than the Fae they serve is the Treant Family, most just live normal lives, eager to eventually slip from their figures, and span the entirety of Valsora.

The Terrabisian Vampire:

The other half of the middle class of the Courts. Foreigners or volunteers who fall victim to a High Fae are given a token: an amulet, a ring, or a necklace. Upon wearing said token, the token is absorbed into the victim's soul, turning them into a Vampire, an embodiment of Wrath, Gluttony and Envy. Considered a rite of passage to join the High Fae, a Terrabisian Vampire's need for blood during its early life soul purpose is to corrupt and turn the victim into their line of twisted logic. If the plan succeeds, most join the High Fae willingly, craving the chance of immortality and a hunt that never ends. There is also the chance that said Vampire doesn't embrace their corruption. In these cases, they are simply just superhumans, no longer needing blood to survive. While being able to enjoy the sun, brushing off holy enchantments, and not having to deal with a garlic allergy, a Terrabisian Vampire is not Divine: They can still be knocked out if hit multiple times by a chair, a stake to the heart can kill most creatures given the chance. A higher magic affinity is great as well, but it's up to the victim to push forward, not give in to temptation, and carry on till the cravings go away, and they enjoy the few centuries before a peaceful death.

The Terrabisian Vampyr:

The highest position of the lowest part of the Courts, they are vampires turned via a bite. When a person is bitten, if only a small amount of blood is left, the victim or volunteer will be turned into a Vampyr. The Vampyr is a twisted shadow of its former self, wanting to feed no matter the cost. Having to deal with what most stories believe vampires are weak to is what a Vampyr is weak against. From garlic to holy symbols to the sun itself, they are easily hunted down under the Rites here and Terrabis-Seran. There are rumors however, that some have managed to flee out of the country.

The Terrabisian Ghoul:

The lowest of the low of the Courts, they are the lapdogs of the High Fae. Drained of all blood, they are the mindless thralls of the Courts, the weakest of the weak. However, the more victims they drain, the smarter and stronger, and less mindless they become. Under the Rites they are not allowed to feed, to avoid the state being overrun by ghouls, and to not accidentally create a powerful predator, bent on power and conquest. It would be a nightmare for the continent if one slipped through the cracks.

"Other"

The dreaded term by the Imperial Census, this term highlights the rejects of the Courts, those too few in number to properly count, and the lurking abominations in the dark corners of Terrabis-Seran. Those on this list are either of a too-small population to guarantee their species on the Census, or too terrible to write of.

The Few:

A catch-all term for the populations of Terrabis-Seran not under a specific designation. From mutated Folk, to lone refugees of dead civlizations, these peoples are represented in the Government, but are too individualized to record. They have been put first on this list, to show they are above the darkness that is the rest of this category.

Imps:

When turning their familiars into Succubi, today's High Fae occasionally failed the process. In these cases, Imps were formed, rejectss that while on the census, are frequently and legally murdered by the Guild for Imperial Adventures or Independents (GAIA), to keep numbers down. With their rapid increase in numbers, it's only a matter of time for these pests to become a problem.

Horrors:

While thier descriptions have been redacted by the state, we can tell you what to do: Retreat slowly, or treat them as a person. While non-hostile to those versed in the Rites, or those that respect them, if you disrespect them in any way, then be glad of your time on Valsora, because you will either be dead, or worse.

The Fallen:

Old Gods no longer worshipped, husks of their former selves can occasionally be found in Terrabis-Seran. Some have small cults, some have one or two worshippers, but most relax at their last shrines, waiting to be remembered, or waiting to be forgotten. With the rise of the Fox Folk however, some have hope, hope to return.

Almost.

I see international allied relationships are going down in a dumpster fire. Good thing Furtechvia has no need to worry about that mess.
