Felis vaporeonis is a secondary aquatic mammal, an evolutionary descendant of Felis eevees that evolved due to geographic isolation. Because of its residence in water, its coat is reduced and the tip of its tail is transformed into a horizontal rear fin, similar to cetaceans. In addition, F. vaporeonis has a leather collar on its neck, which it is capable of folding to enhance its hydrodynamic performance and unfolding to intimidate opponents. On its head there are three cartilaginous growths, similar to the fins of fish: on the sides are ear sensory plates, which F. vaporeonis uses both to perceive the temperature and salinity of the water, as well as its speed and direction of flow, and to increase its apparent size in case of danger. Located on the parietal part of the fin, passing into the dorsal crest, helps it maneuver in the water. Blue coloration of the body allows him to camouflage in the water.
Height at the withers ~ 1 m, length (together with the tail) ~ 2 m, weight ~ 29 kg. At the size of a cheetah, it has a mass about 25% less, indicating a lower body density as an adaptation to an aquatic lifestyle.

From its terrestrial ancestors, F. vaporeonis received four lever limbs with retractable claws, which it uses when hunting, as well as a developed central nervous system, particularly the brain. Thanks to it, individuals of this species are highly intelligent and capable of social interaction, including with humans.

Like other representatives of secondary aquatic species, F. vaporeonis has valves in its nostrils and ears that do not allow water to enter them. According to various assumptions, its ear plates are either a development of the ear valves or a modification of the auricles. Being warm-blooded, F. vaporeonis thermoregulates through them.

F. vaporeonis feeds on fish and some species of fish. F. vaporeonis feeds on fish and some terrestrial animals that come to the watering hole. It prefers to attack from ambush, rarely engages in chases. It may also hunt in groups.
