Today the Deputy Minister of Defense for Naval Affairs has announced the Federation Navy has entered Hanauma Bay in the Hawaiian Islands, seeing that the Islands seem to not be claimed by any world power, the area has been declared a sphere of influence of the Federation. ((If they are occupied by any world powers I will recon this, however I saw no power claimed it on the map))
You could make a map claim like everyone else as well, luckily you made posts about Hawaii at one point but if you hadn’t that would’ve been an issue.

The King's Decree: 2637
After an invitation to meet with various members of the Galactic Senate, The High King has put forth a new Decree for the new year of 2637.
1st , the Grand House of Noble Electors and Senate who together form the Galactic Senate, must be required to have Nonpartisan Speaker positions in both chambers. Currently, the Speaker of the Moot (House of Electors) is a partial partisan position and in the Senate, the role of moderating the debate and setting voting schedules falls to the Vice President. The High King stated this reform is intended to better let lesser known members of the Senate and Moot to be able to "get words in", and to eliminate any notion of bias within the Presiding Officier of both houses.
Secondly, the High King stated a General Election would be called this year to compliment these reforms, he wishes to see a change in how Senate President is elected by consolidating the presidential election with the Senate elections, and has stated that for the second time in National History, the Senate will be electing the President, an increased shift to representation government.

Competency is relative; civil wars vary in scale. It should be mentioned that ironclads were constructed during the Civil War, nor did said war make large scale construction of such impossible.
