Chancellor Issues Public Apology to the NEF on behalf of the UON

Regardless of the personal opinions of the separate member-nations to the NEF and vice versa, as Chancellor, I hereby apologize to the New Equisian Federation for the controversy surrounding their departure and the confusion of the status of their membership in UON. It was the duty of the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor to see that the Representatives sent to Earth where greeted and seated at the table, something that failed to happen. As to why it happened, I have talked to former Chancellor Xander Svek, it seems to that when the Representatives where sent, he held personal reservations and had hoped Congress would handle the arrival of the Representatives, and clearly, a lack of communication and action occurred. So again on behalf of myself, Former Chancellor Svek, and the UON, we apologize to the NEF and wishes it will as it ventures outside the UON, and hopes it reconsiders membership at a later date.

"Element Zero" Discovered in Alpha Centauri - Silberfluss to Work With Teutionia

Recent news shocked the nation as the Sternensucher reported quantities of 'Element Zero' within Alpha Centauri's Oort Cloud. Alerted to the potential presence of the resource by Teutionia experts, the Königin has approached the Sovereign Covenant for assistance in harvesting and harnessing the exotic material. Although 'eezo' is fairly common across several Terran nations, the mass altering element defies most Vulpine theory. Some experts within the shipwright industry believe that it can be used to augment the new Kaiser Class heavy cruiser line, all of which are still under development. While Element Zero would not allow current vulpine vessels to achieve the same faster than light velocities as the Terrans, it is thought that the Kaiser Class could be the first in a new line of Vulpine vessels relying upon the power of "Mass Effect". Munitions experts were quick to pitch in designs to augment the kinetic weaponry on existing vessels, which eezo would drastically improve.

It will take time to see what the overall influence of Element Zero will be, however reports of Sternensucher vessels scouting the Veil Nebula for more pockets seem to indicate that the Königin intends to capitalize on the find.

House Seats Elected! - Traditionalists v Nationalists?

After elections across the nation, the House of Duchies and House of Cittadine have both been filled. Ironically, the parties who pushed for this move have failed to garner significant support, with conservative groups holding most of the seats in each house. While Monarchists and supporters of the Konigin have leads in both houses, more militant and isolationist groups have close leads. Many are concerned that legislation will be stuck in gridlock unless coalitions are formed, although at this time there do not seem to be any obvious groupings. While the entirety of the Houses initial agenda is still being decided, it is known that they will be voting on the status of several nations currently listed under "Interregnum".

Interregnum Votes Held! Greece Still Recognized as Fallen!

After settling into their office, the Houses held three Interregnum votes to decide the status of several Orion nations. The first vote to be held was in regards to the Pino grand fenwick, which suffered a devastating political reshuffle that damaged countless markets across the Spur. Deliberations were brief, with majorities in both Houses agreeing that for the time being the Greece were still in a state of Interregnum. Similarly, the next vote held covering the status of the Soliskerian nation of The prussian raumreich was brief, with almost unanimous votes agreeing that their government could be recognized as a stable and official body. One Ducal Representative was quoted saying "They didn't really change governments, so much as join several together. There is precedent among the Scandzics for such unions to be considered proper governments, and thus legally there was no reason to keep them in their previous state."

However, the final vote was over a far more controversial topic. The new equestrian federation has undergone several governmental shifts and civil wars since the arrival of the Vulpine to the Spur, with no less than five potential heads of state that could be recognized as official leaders. Originally met and considered under Kotori, the Equestrians have suffered a wide range of tradgies, such as the Terran War of Aggression, the Assassination of what appeared to be all potential heads of state in the subsequent election, and continued diplomatic and political troubles abroad. Under most definitions, this would be an easy vote to firmly place the Equestrian Peoples under the state of Interregnum for decades, if not longer. However, recently the nation fell under the rule of Dragon Empress Qu, who seems to have stabilized most of the outstanding issues noted so far. Though some are willing to accept her rule as the official government, there are still many who are skeptical that this will last. After several votes, debates, and recounts, the Houses eventually came to the decision to revoke the Interregnum status for now.

Aboard the Bridge of the Command Class Exodus

"Report."

Kal'ak allowed his gaze drift across the view port, taking in the inky black expanse as he waited for the captain of the Bulwark to gather his thoughts.

The captain cleared his throat and launched into his carefully prepared speech. Kal'ak listened with half an ear, taking in the relevant information and discarding the sycophantic babble.

As the captain finished their report they gave the expressionless admiral a confident and somewhat condescending smirk before continuing on.

"If I may be so bold sir, their defenses, while advanced, are mostly focused around the larger settlements. Our fleet could easily wipe out the satellite systems in orbit around their planets and destroy the outlying settlements in order to isolate the major population centers. From there, we could take them at our leisure. I'm sure the Empress would be pleased with such an addition to the Empire."

"Vyrelians." Kal'ak thought to himself wryly. "At least it could not be said that they lacked for confidence. Forethought on the other limb...

Keeping an outwardly stoic expression, Kal'ak pretended to consider the suggestion for a moment, allowing the young captain's confidence to reach its zenith before casually toppling it.

"Where is their fleet?"

"Sir?" The captain asked in a confused tone, his confidence begging to melt away.

"Their fleet, captain. As you yourself surmised, they have advanced defensive systems, as advanced as any you'd see on any Imperial core world. Their communications network are interplanetary in nature. All evidence suggests they are a highly developed civilization capable of interstellar travel. Where then is their fleet?"

The captain was at a loss for a moment before retorting angrily.

"They have no fleet. They must be pacifists or non aggressive."

The admiral shook his head slowly in disappointment.

"Look at the information available to us. None of the planets within the system are fully developed, yet this civilization clearly possesses several under its control along with equipment as advanced as any in Imperial space. Don't you think it rather odd that a civilization that possesses terraforming technologies and is capable of interstellar travel when much of their population is producing food and other basic resources? The worlds themselves oddly seem untouched outside of the major settlements, as if the people there had only recently arrived. This is supported by the entire combined population numbering in the millions.

The captain's previous zeal had vanished completely. "Breeding rates!" He shouted, nearly incoherently. "They could have a slower breeding ra-"

"Breeding rates wouldn't account for their lack of spread. Many undeveloped areas on the planets are completely habitable by the sentients there according to our bio-scanners. No. These are colony worlds, most likely advanced outposts for a far more advanced civilization."

The admiral signaled the ever present Vera to dismiss the still babbling captain as he closed his eyes in thought, his mind turning towards the matter of how to deal with this revelation.

So intent on the issue was he that he didn't hear as Vera reentered the room.

"I think you may have broken that one." There was a teasing tone within the rebuke and Kal'ak couldn't entirely stop the smile that made its way to his face.

"Do you think I should have them sent to medical?" He asked casually.

"Too late for that I think." She responded, completely straight-faced. "He'll be no good to you now, not as an officer nor as a pocket." She continued, somewhat seriously.

Kal'ak waved her off. "He would have been of little use to me as either." Recognizing her silence for what it was Kal'ak felt prompted. "You disapprove."

"Not as such, no. I only worry that you might be overplaying your hand."

Kal'ak considered her words. "You may well be right." He said quietly. "But then again, I wasn't given much choice in the matter."

"Few of us are." Vera responded somberly causing a twinge of pity to well up in Kal'ak as he remembered her circumstances. A twinge he promptly stamped out.

"Go. Contact the Empress. Inform her of what we've found. Inform her I intend to make contact with the planet."

"Kal-"

"With her approval of course. I only fear the decision will soon be taken out of my hands." With that, the admiral turned his back on Vera, his gaze refocusing on the seemingly infinite canvas in front of him. Vera hesitated as if wanting to offer a word of comfort or encouragement, but the moment passed. Instead she nodded her assent before departing from the room and making for her chambers.

Republica Offers Trade Opportunities

Today Republica has announced that it will be relaxing restrictions on several types of advanced hardlight weaponry, allowing their sale to foreign governments. However, purchases of these weapons will have to be reported to the Republican government for national security reasons.

Further, the nation has declared that it is seeking trading partners, both terrestrial and interstellar. Those interested in increased trade with the Empire may inquire with the Empress, or via telegram.

the Mechanicum sends a letter detailing its interest in acquiring the underlying hardlight technology itself in the interest of improving manufacturing systems rather than as a form of weaponry and would be interested in acquiring it and perhaps some of the pioneering scientists for a joint engineering venture

Isariin Internal Affairs

King Amos of Java has called representatives from the Sundan and Batak states to formally recognize a treaty that has been in the works for the past five years. The One Ocean Treaty would set about to create an economic union between the major states in the region, effectively uniting further the confederation.

Before the recent development, the many states within the Isariin region would have their own currency and dealt with trading affairs in more localized regions under their own authority. The One Ocean Treaty will see to the creation of a common currency at a regional level to be used in signatory nations to co-exist with local currencies, the Hyrt. The production of such localized currencies will cease at the beginning of the next month, allowing financial institutions to make the necessary translation and stock up on the new currency. A year after the signing of the treaty, all local currency which has not been collected and exchanged will become invalid.

While the move has been seen for the past decade as a necessary development, traditionalist sects have declared they will not participate in the change. However, such boycott demonstrations are minimal due to the treaty's favorable standing. There have been no moves to penalize the usage of local currencies after the date of termination, however the treaty's charter recognizes that as the new regional currency, the Hyrt will be the only currency accepted in government sectors and in tax collection.

The One Ocean Treaty will also establish a single trading and immigration policy for Isariin people groups, as well as regulate the immigration and trading relations with foreign powers. Although minimal, the foriegn policy aspect will incline states to trade within the Isariin Confederation to reduce favoritism with states that border or are in close proximity with foreign powers. Such measures include an increase in tariffs on trade with foreign goods which is to be collected by the respective state that the transaction occurs. Trade, therefore, is encouraged if 'a bit off the top' goes to local administration.

Stekarus is willing to become trading partners with the UPR, seeing as becoming more receptive with the Republicans would have a much more positive impact on the Stek Economy.

Upon the planet of Blackshold, named after the current High King of Teutionia, at the Teutonic Colonial Defense Force Outpost located near the planet's northern ice cap, sits a single communications officer, sitting at his desk monitoring signals being received from space, the monitor displays a line graph with data being reported by the system VI, its a small squiggly line. So the Comms Officier decided to lean back in his chair and maybe take a quick nap, suddenly a loud beep can be heard coming from the speakers, he springs up from his chair to see what it is, expecting it to be just pirate boat, he's slow to react and promptly mutes the alert, however upon inspecting the signal his eyes widen, his is jaw drops. He quickly activates his Omni-tool and gets a hold of his superiors. "Alien Vessel Detected, unknown origin and of unknown signature." They prompt him to double check the ship database and confirm the situation.

Within the day the 2nd Frontier Patrol Fleet is recalled from its route, back to the system of New Europa.

Unknown to any admiral within the fleet, a message is sent out using the local QEC back to Earth, where the message is given to the High King of the event, who authorizes an order for the deployment of the FSV Nightshade which would arrive within the day, however, it being a Stealth Vessel, it would not be detected.
