This is only inflaming tensions and leading to a dark road.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a weekly report from The Western Isles Office of Information that all the preceding week should be reported.

Every month, the office selects a dispatch posted within the month that it has deemed exceptionally unique, creative and informative and deserves the recognition it needs. The dispatch is then featured here, as part of our Dispatch of the Month program. As long as the original author of the dispatch is in this region and exists on our Regional Map, the dispatch meets our requirements for the program.

Is there a dispatch you know that you feel is worthy of the award? If so, please do not hesitate to inform our Officer of Recognition - the official organizer of the program - of it. The office very much appreciates such nominations, as we are unable to keep track of every dispatch within the region.

About the Dispatch of the Month

The Dispatch of the Month is a program launched and run by the Office of Information. As stated before, the program involves the office featuring a dispatch it likes and feels the need to commend. The program was done in order to stimulate regional activity, encourage creativity, improve writing skills, and boost the overall nationbuilding quality.

The following requirements need to be met in order for a dispatch to be eligible for nomination:

  • Author must be in the region and regional map

  • Dispatch will have to be posted within the month

We determine the Dispatch of the Month results through a number of criteria. Each are worth 10 points, and the highest total score you can achieve is 40. The criteria are:

  • Uniqueness: What makes it different from other dispatches and nominees.

  • Creativity: How original and creative the dispatch itself is.

  • Visual Appealingness: How appealing the dispatch is.

  • Information: How informative the dispatch is.

You can also nominate any dispatch (yes, even yours) so long that it meets our guidelines. This greatly helps us reach a larger number of dispatches and possible nominees. However, only the dispatch with the highest total points based off our criteria will claim the title of Dispatch of the Month.

Aye, people need to let Altera and the coalition get on with things in the north; that way we can get back to running the corporate empire country.

Oh, look, Ioudaia has grown some natural resources:

Ioudaia's natural resources listed in order relative to domestic needs for them. Bold print indicates large deposits or large agricultural capacity.

Agricultural Products

Significant Exports
Barley
Stone fruit (cherries, plums, almonds, peaches)
Apples
Fish
Grapes
Wine

Slight Exports
Goat meat (kid; as a side product, kidskin leather)
Pulses/beans
Small grains and buckwheat
Goat/cow dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream)
Eggs

Slight Imports
Wood products
Pork
Temperate veggies
Rice
Tropical fruits

Significant Imports
Poultry meat
Mutton
Natural fibers (cotton, wool, and silk)
Wheat
Beef
Chocolate
Coffee

Ioudaia can, in a physical sense, feed itself, However, as
the country has grown richer, consumption of wheat and
most kinds of meat has outstripped our domestic
production (except in Jolgeh Asvat and Sahel Tufani,
where barley is prefered over wheat).

Metal Ores

Significant Exports
Mercury, lanthanum, cerium (few domestic uses)
Aluminum
Tantalum
Niobium
Lead
Zinc
Copper

Slight Exports
Colbalt
Chromium
Silver
Tellerium

Slight Imports
Nickel
Titanium
Neodymium

Significant Imports
Gold
Iron
Manganese

All other minerals < 20% domestic needs. Ioudaia lacks
domestic ores for tin, tungsten, lithium, berylium, boron,
and platinum-group elements, among others.

Other Resources

Fossil Fuels

Coal: significant reserves, but coal is rarely used domestically as fuel any longer. Coal is mostly used by the Ioudaian steel industry, so export quantities are available.

Natural gas: minor reserves mostly due to our coal fields, but we have a small amount of shale gas. Ioudaia is a major importer.

Oil: significant reserves of heavy, sour crude offshore in Kolpos Aremikos. Domestic production and refining capability are maintained by the Ioudaian Navy as a strategic asset at some expense. However, because of the cost of refining and
desulfurizing our crude oil, Ioudaia is a major importer, except when oil is expensive on regional markets.

Uranium/Thorium: minor reserves as a side effect of rare earth element production. Ioudaia makes only modest use of nuclear power.

Precious Stones

The main gem-producing area in Ioudaia is the foothills of Sarhat Tukidas near Nilakabat.

Ruby has been mined, polished, and cut since antiquity, however, the veins are nearly exhausted. Gem-quality rubies found now are on 1 carat or less, though industrial ruby is still plentiful.

Sapphire is still abundant, but blue sapphire is relatively rare, and fancy sapphire is relatively common. Large gem-quality stones occasionally still turn up.

Moonstone, peridot, and garnet are also found near Nilakabat.

Jaspers of all kinds and sizes are commonly found around Shariyath, giving the city its name (literally, "city of jasper"). In addition, picture jasper/landscape jasper is found in a layer up to several meters thick west of the city, and is cut into large blocks for building facades and table- and counter-tops. X-ray tomography is used to select directions for cutting to maximize value, based on the patterns that will result.

Dimensional Stone

Marble is found in both of our major mountain ranges. Three types are available:

  • Fine-grained white and blue marble is the most common. It's sometimes used for building facades, and due to its abundance, even used for monumental buildings and sculpture.

  • Coarse-grained cream-colored marble is also abundant. While it's translucent, and thus sometimes used for facades and roofs of monumental buildings, it's too coarse-grained for sculpture.

  • Fine-grained snow white marble is available only from a few small quarries any more, and so is expensive. It's mostly used for sculpture, but still is sometimes used for building facades.

We have extensive deposits of sandstone in and around Sahel Tufani. It's available in several colors and textures.

Nearly all of our domestic granite is grey speckled with black. It is at best plain and at worst ugly, but it's found in many places. A very small amount of pink granite is quarried, but as with our white marble, is expensive.

Building Materials

The raw materials for concrete and brick are common, and both are made locally. Cinder blocks are manufactured as well.

As we're both importers and exporters of various sorts of natural resources, there are also sorts of preferential deals to be worked out.

A run down of plans for anyone who is interested in the current CCA crisis. Keep yourself informed, I guess?

Yes, AM is a flawed country. It has been a united country only three times (when the Noronnican crown won the Khas-Kirat Succession War and placed their prince on our throne, during the Imperial War as Empire of Magarat and after 1995 when the modern Magarati federation was formed).

It has had Khumbuwani rebels and Chathaese separatists (and others) carrying out terrorist attacks since the day it was formed in 1995. It has border disputes with all of ts neighbors and even in far-off places. The internal subdivisions (the hangates) all hate each other and the central government. Tapu Sahar (aka the only stable part of AM) and the hangates of the mainland are world apart. The only thing uniting them is the Magarati identity "which is a very broad term".

Overview

The Gael Market Crash of the 80s was a regional economic crisis that involved an extreme value drop in the stock market of the majority of Gaels nations and large economic instability that occurred from the early 1980s all the way to the late 1995s in Gael involving mainly Aruias economic influence over Gaels market, which later would be nicknamed “The Aruian Fumble” a name adopted by both Anhelsen and Aruian economist of the time.

Historical Overview

1970s
Through the entire 1970s, all economic trades were based on old treaties that were regulated by the Transgoverment Body: Association Gaeltic States (AGS) with the exclusion of some Gael states. In 1973 in order to regulate and push economic opportunities in Aruias favor the Aruian economic and finance body Gael Finances which own the Bank of Gael was secretly nationalized and seized by the ministry of commerce and finance under the Aruian Labor Party. These actions went unseen by the AGS due to the civil wars taking place in Orsandia and Balnik which receives heavy attention from the AGS with major nations such as Ostehaar that take direct involvement and with large economical and social investment in the civil wars in attempts to secure a regional and Ostehaars market stable.
In 1974 Bank of Gael as a government-owned business made its first acquisition buying Bank Lidara in Aruia, a major bank that excels in loans and investments worth with existing branches in Dormill and Stiura, Ainslie, and Roendovar. From early 1975 Bank of Gael used Bank Lidara to hand large loans to companies affected by the civil wars outcome this will continue into early 1980 where government and public businesses will start to take part.

1980s
in 1980 Ainslie government-owned business makes risky loans as well as the government of Ostehaar and Verdon, These actions were a large breach of the AGS treaties and were condemned by the Roendovar and The Stiuraian Republic and Roendavar. The severity of the breach of treaties continues when On January 1981 Anhelsen Prime Minister Joel Gisbourne pushes for deregulation and privation and in the process, Ainslie pulls out of the AGS between February 1981 to March 1981 Gael Finance begins to make hostile take over, over several banks across Gael that went under the radar of many governments seizing bank-owned properties in the process mainly in Ainslie, Roendavar and the Free City of Kapolder. Roendavar pulls out of the AGS due in light of it failing to act on its purposes.
The hostile take over of Gael Finance along with the sense of regional instability that came with nations leaving the AGS led to shaking the stocks across Gael, causing a drop in the value of many bank assets owned by Bank of Gael banks and the general market value of the region. This along with the civil unrest in the region led a sudden investor drain in the Gael market and in Gael projects causing a plummet in the stock markets.
The continuous loaning takes in Roendavar and the deregulation in Ainslie led Gael Finances to hold both nations market hostage which heavily burdened Roendavars government that was in the process of economic reforms and eventually ended in dragging the reforms too long and got Roendavaris out in the street to protest that escalated into riots.
As a result of the market crash, on April 1981 the Gael regions’ unemployment was in an all-time low. Manufactures were unable to pay workers and products were to costly for families, the force and influence Gael Finances had over the Gaeltic market was strong enough to allow Gael Finances to flood the regional market with cheap labor from Athara magarat and with cheap Magarti goods. The flood of foreign cheap goods led to a loss in many local manufactures which started a regional recession period.
In 1982 the AGS only hosted Doraltic states and stated that it will no longer discuss regional Gael regional mattes. Forcing nations like Ostehaar along with local peacekeeping forces and be the only front line in many of the post-civil war nations in attempts to return geopolitical stability. The militaristic focus by Ostehaar led to its market suffering largely which led Ostehaars market good production to drop by 75% from its original place and have one of the lowest GDP out of the Gaeltic industrial states. in 1983 Aruia had a sudden positive spike in its market, businesses started to reopen and majority of business loans were paid off making the way for a fast recovery pattern that did not correspond with regional recovery which got the attention of several nations in Gael. On January 1984 Ainslies Prime Minister Joel Gisbourne has been ejected from office by the Judicial Council, due to his arbitrary deregulation acts, leading the next prime minister in office to focus on market recovery and change in economical agenda. on March 1984 Roendavar and Ostehaar released a joint economist investigation into the Bank of Gael leading it to suspicious involvement through Lennester Bank and Bank of Lidara. Ainslie pressured Aruia to allow its intelligence force to perform a complete investigation on both banks and the office of Bank of Gael in Ar'ksen city, the investigation was brought to a halt on May 1984 when the Aruian minister of Finance and Commerce was caught in the borders with Balnik in a failed attempt to flee the country. Leading to him being held suspicious and in house arrest until the first reports of the investigation.

The one by Ponderosa is very helpful. Even though I've been on NS for 5+ years and have tried other formats, it's still my preferred general factbook style

I would be interested. My country isn't exactly Indic, though it's an Indian Ocean country and a large percentage of the citizenry is South Asian in origin. It was also historically influenced by happenings in South Asia so a historical tie in would be very appropriate. Though I should also mention I am not yet on the map (though I plan to join soon)

Athara magarat is someone who does co-history with everyone. Might be Indic too, not too certain so ask him.

My and Shanzie's culture might also have some Indic aspects, been personally looking at the Mughals and Pakistan for ideas for culture. Though Persia and other Persianate societies will still be the primary inspiration.

If this is the case, we can do a history collab too. A large number of people in my country are from Persian/Turkic countries.

Also, I would humbly recommend looking at Turkish societies too if you're into Persian stuff. Especially in South Asia, Persian culture came with the Turks so it has residual (though not insignificant) Turkish influences. A number of historically important Muslim royals in India for example came from prominent Turkish or Mongolian families as opposed to Persian ones.
