Flora and Fauna of Parpyduckland - The Introduction of Rats

In 2015, pet fancy rats were introduced to Parpyduckland. Initially regarded as an invasive species, the animal was embraced when investigations found that they were in fact a boon to the populace, bringing much joy to citizens who tickled their bellies and fed them treats. Some concessions needed making for Parpyduckland's universally endorsed Official National Critter - examples being that Bronx cable was required for every imaginable type of wire or cord including phone charging devices, as well as daily wipedowns of every surface in their homes and cities to wash away pee dribbles, but such things were indeed small sacrifices for the citizens of Parpyduckland to fully enjoy the companionship of the trillions upon trillions of rats carpeting every surface.
