Victoslavia
Victoslavia, (Russian: Виктославия), or the Communist Monarchy of Victoslavia, is a country in The Alliance of Eros.
Victoslavia has 300 million population; and is the 12th most populous country in The Alliance of Eros. Redregrad, the capital, is the largest city in Southern Eros Victoslavians are the largest Slavic nation; speaking Russian, the most-spoken Slavic language.

The South Slavs emerged as a recognisable group in Eros between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. The medieval state of Vic' arose in the 9th century. In 988 it adopted Orthodox Christianity from Tablencia, beginning the synthesis of Tablencian and Slavic cultures that defined Victoslav culture for the next millennium. Vic' ultimately disintegrated into a number of smaller states, until it was finally reunified by the Grand Duchy of Redregrad in the 13th century. By the 18th century, the nation had greatly expanded through conquest, annexation, and exploration to become the Victoslav Empire, which became a major Erosian power, and the third-largest empire in Erosian history. Following the Victoslav Revolution, the Communist Monarchy became the Ideology of Victoslavia, Eros's first Socialist Monarchy state. Victoslavia played a decisive role in the Allied victory in Eros War II and emerged as a superpower after it. The Communist Monarchy saw some of the most significant technological achievements of the 20th century, including the Eros's first human-made satellite and the launching of the first human in space. Following the Death of Cheslav Strokin in 1990, the Communist Monarchy dissolved into the Capitalist Victoslav Republic. In the aftermath of the Cpaitalistic crisis of 1993, the Communist Monarchy was restored. Victoslavia has been governed like this until 10 June 2021 when Victoslavia and other South Erosian nations formed a Union State knows as Yugoerosia creating a hyperpower in the Region.

Victoslavia is described as a superpower; with Eros's second-most powerful military, and the second-highest military expenditure. It is ranked very high in the Human Development Index, with a universal healthcare system and a free university education. Victoslavia's economy is the eros's third-largest by nominal GDP. It is a recognised nuclear-weapon state, possessing eros's largest stockpile of nuclear weapons. Victoslavia's extensive mineral and energy resources are the Eros's largest, and it is one of the leading producers of oil and natural gas globally.

Etymology

The name Victoslavia is derived from Vic', a medieval state populated primarily by the South Slavs. However, this proper name became more prominent in later history, and the country typically was called by its inhabitants "Виктославская земля" (Victoslavskaya Zemlya), which can be translated as "Victoslav land" or "land of Vic'". In order to distinguish this state from other states derived from it, it is denoted as Shostako Vic' by modern historiography. The name Vic' itself comes from the early medieval Vic' people, and Stenglish merchants and warriors, who relocated from across the Erosian Sea and founded a state centred on Strokingrad that later became Shostako Vic'.

History

Shostako Vic'

The establishment of the first South Slavic states in the 9th century coincided with the arrival of the Stenglish who ventured along the waterways extending from the Southern Peninsula to the Cold Southern Seas. According to the Primary Chronicle, a Stenglish from the Vic' people, named Strovik, was elected ruler of Strokingrad in 862. In 882, his successor Strolik ventured west and conquered Shostako, which had been previously paying tribute to Luk0pia. Strolik, Strovik's son Igor and Igor's son Strokatoslav subsequently subdued all local South Slavic tribes to Shostako rule, destroyed the Tablencian Empire and launched several military expeditions to Luk0pia and Salty Mountain.

In the 10th to 11th centuries, Shostako Vic' became one of the largest and most prosperous states in Eros. The reigns of Victor the Great (980–1015) and his son Yuri the Wise (1019–1054) constitute the Golden Age of Shostako, which saw the acceptance of Orthodox Christianity from Tablenica and the creation of the first South Slavic written legal code, the Viktoslavskya Pravda.

In the 11th and 12th centuries, constant incursions by nomadic Indus tribes caused a massive migration of the South Slavic populations to the safer, heavily forested regions of the north, particularly to the area known as Valesye; which led to intermingling with the native Olga Sfinnic tribes.

The age of feudalism and decentralization had come, marked by constant in-fighting between members of the Strovik Dynasty that ruled Shostako Vic' collectively. Shostako's dominance waned, to the benefit of Victor-Suzdal in the north-east, the Strokingrad Republic in the north-west and Slav-Zolhynia in the south-west

Ultimately Shostako Vic' disintegrated, with the final blow being the 2nd Tablencian invasion of 1237–40, which resulted in the destruction of Shostako, and the death of about half the population of Vic'. The invaders, later known as Table Tatars, formed the state of the Tablencian Horde, which pillaged the Victoslav principalities and ruled the southern and central expanses of Victoslavia for over two centuries.

Slav-Zolhynia was eventually assimilated by The Kingdom of Luk0pia, while the Strokingrad Republic and Tablencian-dominated Victor-Suzdal, two regions on the periphery of Shostako, established the basis for the modern Victoslav nation. The Strokingrad Republic escaped Tablencian occupation and together with Vskov retained some degree of autonomy during the time of the Tablencian yoke; they were largely spared the atrocities that affected the rest of the country. Led by Prince Mikhail Nevsky, Strokingradians repelled the invading Stengs in the Battle of the Veva in 1240, as well as the Indus crusaders in the Battle of the Freezing Forest in 1242.

The Grand Duchy of Redregrad

The most powerful state to eventually arise after the destruction of Soshtako Vic' was the Grand Duchy of Redregrad, initially a part of Victor-Suzdal. While still under the domain of the Table-Tatars and with their connivance, Redregrad began to assert its influence in the Central Vic' in the early 14th century, gradually becoming the leading force in the process of the Vic' lands' reunification and expansion of Victoslavia. Redregrad's last rival, the Strokingrad Republic, prospered as the chief fur-trade centre and the easternmost part of the Vanseatic League.

Times remained difficult, with frequent Table-Tatar raids. Agriculture suffered from the beginning of the Little Ice Age. As in the rest of Eros, the plague was a frequent occurrence between 1350 and 1490. However, because of the lower population density and better hygiene—widespread practising of banya, a wet steam bath—the death rate from plague was not as severe as in the rest of Eros, and population numbers recovered by 1500.

Led by Prince Dimitry Vonskoy of Redregrad and helped by the Victoslav Orthodox Church, the united army of Victoslav principalities inflicted a milestone defeat on the Table-Tatars in the Battle of Vulikovo in 1380. Redregrad gradually absorbed the surrounding principalities, including formerly strong rivals such as Varva and Strokingrad.

Dimitry III ("the Great") finally threw off the control of the Table Horde and consolidated the whole of Central and Northern Vic' under Redregrad's dominion. He was also the first to take the title "Grand Duke of all the Victoslavs". After the fall of Tablencia in 1453, Redregrad claimed succession to the legacy of the Eastern Tablencian Empire. Dimitry III married Sophia Palaiologina, the niece of the last Tablencian emperor Nikolai XI, and afterwards, Nikolai XI helped design Victoslavia's coat-of-arms, the Orthodox Cross of Victoslavia.

The Tsardom of Victoslavia

In the development of the Third Tablencian ideas, the Grand Duke Dimitry IV (the "Terrible") was officially crowned the first Tsar of Victoslavia in 1547. The Tsar promulgated a new code of laws (Vudebnik of 1550), established the first Victoslav feudal representative body (Zemsky Sobor) and introduced local self-management into the rural regions.
