Fodlan in N-Day 8 (February 2023): Shambhala Strategic Javelin Command/The Flame Emperor's Disco Harem Bunker

On the afternoon of February 26, 2023, N-Day 8 began. Five months after our faction, Anna's Secret Nuclear Bunker exceeded all expectations and secured 9th on the overall score rankings and a shocking FIRST in the hit-per-nation tally. With more motivation, coordination, and a winning plan, we, the dedicated nations of Fodlan set out to replicate our success and prove that Anna's was no fluke!

Keeping with our source material, there was only one theme that could channel the destruction of N-Day's atomic annihilation. So, our faction, Shambhala Strategic Javelin Command, was created, channeling the power of Agarthan Javelins of Light to semi-canonically nuke all who oppose us.

Our allies in Argo Navis, taking the role the Black Eagle Strike Force had fortuitously played the previous year, founded The Flame Emperor's Disco Harem Bunker, a Fodlan-themed faction that was to serve as an unseen yet formidable redoubt for our shield producing nations, and as a rear base to minimize damage as our attack nations struck from Shambhala. Overall, few more than 70 nations participated in both factions, in various production roles.

The first target was the Kaiserliche Atomwehr, a faction of the region of KAISERREICH, which had soared to the top of the scoreboard in the earliest hours of the debate. As the largest factions cut them down, Shambhala's Javelins found their first targets, gracing the standings for a few minutes before withdrawing to the Disco Harem Bunker to resupply for later operations.

Still, as the night wore on into the morning, our armies, combining the ruthlessness and terror of Those Who Slither in the Dark with the willpower and victory of the beloved Academy students to overcome and exceed the high bar set by Anna's, and against even more formidable opposition and formidable attention. Striking at vulnerable factions, Shambhala claimed the ranks, our nations embarking on daring, quick, and coordinated raids upon foes. Thousands of nukes and a disproportionate quantity of shields were built up, to protect our regions from the coming assault.

That is not to say that all went to plan, however. In the morning, both regions were struck by devastating assaults by script-using puppetmasters from the mighty Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Thousands of nuclear warheads trained and fired upon our nations, threatening to wipe out our faction, but our vigilant guards managed to weather the assault, with only some reserve nations in the Bunker taking significant hits. Shambhala was barely harmed. Pure dedication and effort overcame the seemingly indomitable machinations of scripted puppets. It would not be the last time our faction would face such challenges, but the faction was preserved, with thousands of shields and nukes, to regain a strong position going into the latter half of the day.

Over the final hours, our nations would launch two more coordinated strikes which over doubled our score beyond Anna's mark, to over 10,000, all with the ever-increasing risk of large faction scrutiny and attack. As our last wave began to pull out, yet another script-wielding puppetmaster affiliated with the Horsemen struck, attempting to destroy our forward-deployed nations as various observers and independents looked on eagerly, nukes at the ready. Fortunately, the coordination of our armies won out against sheer numbers once again, blasting down nukes in the air and allowing most of our key nations to withdraw from the region with minimal losses.

With only a few hours left, our faction stood at an unprecedented 5TH place in the absolute score standings, behind only the Horsemen, their two puppet factions, and another faction elevated in the early-game through the usage of coordinated scripted puppets.

Unfortunately, the machinations of the scripted puppets would not be finished yet. The Minotaurs, a script-using faction that had been crushed early on, founded a new faction, Minotaurs Two, and, under the noses of even the great factions, began to strike with remarkable speed, logging in over 13,000 strikes and depriving our faction of its well-earned 5th position. By the time that our defenders began to shoot down their nukes, their puppets had already fled the place. Our chance for a formal top-5 was stopped, and the vigilance of the major factions was duly insulted.
With less than an hour left in the event, the 7th place faction just behind Shambhala, AMAZEING, yet another script-puppet-boosted shell, tried to pull a similar stunt. This time, our nations were not going to be played for fools a second time, however. The nations of the Disco Harem Bunker, as well as the large factions, were sure to destroy all of AMAZEING's warheads in flight, while pinning all of the puppets in the region, providing a dramatic victory as the time elapsed.
