Enlist in the Grand Army!
What is the Grand Army?
The Grand Army of the Crowned Republic (GACR) is Carcassonne's regional military. It defends our region and allies, and advances frontierist principles of dismantling wastelands and supporting true Frontiers.
If you want to serve your region, or earn some military glory for yourself, why don't you enlist in the Grand Army today?
NationStates warfare is conducted by World Assembly nations seizing the position of WA delegate in other regions. This is done by having soldiers endorse one WA nation and move to a target region in a coordinated fashion, allowing that nation to seize the delegacy.
Operations generally take place at the time the game updates and re-arranges WA delegates. This occurs at two times during the day:
12:00 AM - ~1:30 AM Eastern Time (major update)
12:00 PM - ~1:00 PM Eastern Time (minor update)
However, not all operations take place at those times and you do not need to be available during them to join the Grand Army. If you can participate at those times or are ready to move at a moment's notice, you should join the Grenadiers. If you cannot or you don't have a Discord account, you should join the Gendarmerie. The Grand Army welcomes every able-bodied citizen in its ranks, regardless of experience. Everyone can, and should, join!
What branches are there?
Military operations in NationStates revolve around seizing regional delegacies. To that end, the Army is composed of two corps: the Grenadiers, who are responsible for storming and capturing regions at updates, and the Gendarmerie, who are responsible for the reinforcement and occupation of captured regions.

To join the Gendarmerie, please review the instructions in this dispatch and telegram your oath to the Empress, 
Pauline Bonaparte.
Regardless of your choice, no experience is required. Instructions will be given to all new recruits by the Empress or officers of the Grand Army.
How do I join?
To enlist in the Grand Army, please join our regional Discord server, fill out the below application in full and post it in 
the #recruitment-office channel. You will need to have a Discord account, this guide will help you get started. The Empress herself will welcome you into the Grand Army if she accepts your application. If you cannot, for whatever reason, have a Discord account, you should consider enlisting in the Gendarmerie as an alternative.
