Every year on May 10th, Safjians celebrate Dodo Homecoming Day, during which schoolchildren dress as dodos and perform reenactments of the legendary and epic tales of dodos. The national anthem is sung with a verse added in Dodoese—a whistled language reconstructed using dodo vocal tracts and ancestral pigeon dialects.
