Exactly, if you don't have the funds to spare, it shouldn't be required for you to pay into this program. It is needless legislation, and I am sure bigger countries with larger funds are pitching in, willingly.

Having a good internal relationship with fellow region members is essential to having a strong external relationship with other regions. If we all work in harmony, we can achieve our common goals for our already growing region. I will be glad to answer any question that pertains to my position or the actions I will take when elected. If you share my view, please endorse my campaign in order to see changes that you want in your region! Best regards to all fellow members!

Quoting this to make sure it does not fall off the board. This is good to see--PR Officer is an important position. I am open to changing the name, by the way. It sounds a little corporate, and does not really fit with the tropical theme of the region.

Just so everyone knows, it would make me feel all warm and fuzzy if some of these posts were transferred here: http://conchkingdom.bbforum.co/forum10.html. I know I said to put it on the RMB so that people would see it, because the forum does not have many members yet, but I am still the only person to have posted there. I would like to change that.

The next thing I want to establish is frequency of elections. The delegate position can be a little more freeform in that regard, because the game holds an "election" every 12 hours, but the other positions will need a set time period. Thoughts on what that should be?

Shansmen wrote:I want to ask where the WA would get that money.

Atlas is right, basically every law the WA passes is powered by taxes from the people of member nations. That is why a lot of people create puppet nations just as WA embassies, so they can vote and whatnot without messing up their main nations.

Atlas mountain wrote:^UN in a nutshell (and as the WA is the NS version of the UN, the WA too)
Btw, can I run for vice delegate, or is that appointed by the delegate?

Agree with the UN part. If I could appoint you to vice delegate, (Don't know yet) if I have that authority, I gladly would.

Atlas mountain wrote:Awesome! You have the most endos, so you will become the delegate overnight (well, overnight for me, but after the next update).

Good, I look forward to serving alongside you. Always nice to have like-minded people!

All right, going to put the brakes on here--I think we are going to have elections for the vice delegate. That being said, I had not considered the idea of extremely short term limits before, but I like it. Maybe you could be the vice delegate for the first term (and Helghan could be PRO, for that matter), then we could have elections going forward.

Would the delegate just go until people withdrew their nominations or how would that work?

Shansmen wrote:Would the delegate just go until people withdrew their nominations or how would that work?

Just until the next election, when some people would have to un-endo the delegate until the new delegate can get his position.

(Atlas Mountain puppet btw)

Basically, yes. I was thinking that people could set up a campaign at any time, and if they got traction, people would start endorsing them. The idea is that if someone is good at the job, they stay, and if someone better comes along, they get replaced. Maybe we could have a maximum term, though, something much longer than the other term limits. That would prevent anyone from holding onto the position forever. Having short term limits would not work on the delegate anyway, because of the inertia involved in people switching their endorsements. The other positions are regional officers that can be changed at the click of a button.

My last post was in reply to Shansmen, by the way.
To Atlas: are we still talking about the delegate spot? What I was suggesting was to not have formal elections for the delegate, because they are primarily the WA representative and should be elected by WA members only, and also because there is already a game mechanism for electing them. The vice delegate, on the other hand, would have formal elections, because that is an RO position. Therefore, the delegate would not have term limits because there would be no terms, while the vice delegate would have terms.

How about, no more than 2 consecutive terms. Enough time to get stuff done, and not to long that they seem eternal

Every time I log in, my top and side menus are full of red numbers. Not used to that, but I am definitely happy to see so much activity.

I like making nations in rare categories. This one was supposed to be a Libertarian Police State, but the economy got a little too high.

Atlas mountain wrote:Okay, then who is the president then?

I did not plan to have a president.

Hm?

Just make any suggestions that come to mind. This is the best time, when no final decisions have been made yet.

That was going to be my next question for you. Because you have full discretion over your position, you can vote as you see fit. I take it you plan to have a poll for each resolution? Will it be open to resident WA members only? All of them, or only your endorsers?
