Ethnon Information Service Announcement:
Is This All There Is?
Hello there! 😊
Did you know that The North Pacific (TNP) is like an iceberg.
Imagine that the RMB is what you see above the water, that would be 10% of TNP.
The rest of TNP you will find on Discord and the Forum.
Go on, have a look, discover the real TNP.
What is Discord?
Discord is an online text and voice chat service that exists for gaming communities. The North Pacific, like many other regions, has utilized this system to allow for easier communication amongst fellow nations.
How is this different from telegramming or RMB posting?
Discord offers a plethora of additional communication features compared to NationStates. For one thing, everything takes place in real-time. You can see who is online, who is available to chat, and can even see when someone is typing a message. No need to refresh the page constantly when waiting for a reply from someone like with NationStates. Second, Discord allows for the creation of many different channels and can control who has access to each. This helps to organize discussion topics instead of using as single chatroom for everything. Third, Discord has a voice chat feature for users interested in talking to one another. Users are not required to utilize this feature but it can definitely be a fun tool for communicating with one another.
Why should I join?
Discord is widely used by The North Pacific community. At just about any time of day, you can find at least 50 users on our general server. It is used for all sorts of purposes such as government business, communication between fellow players, and simply just for fun. Come check it out for yourself to see what you are missing out on!
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! Just follow these steps:
Step 1. Click here
Step 2. Accept the invite
Step 3. Create a nickname
Step 4. If you are a citizen or resident, contact the Speaker or Deputy Speakers of the Regional Assembly to be given the proper role.
Step 5. Explore some of the channels our server has to offer!
What if I still have questions?
You can contact the Discord Chat Administrators or the Mentors if you have any questions about our Discord server or are having difficulties using it.
Note: The Chat Administrators encourage discretion and common sense when it comes to reproducing logs from the server.

With all that happens on the forum, it may appear a bit overwhelming at first. This guide exists to help you in the process of navigating the forums.

Is the "Nationstates Moderators" account just Sedgistan in disguise?
I know it's just a way for them to be anonymous but I'm guessing it's him, or at least one person is particular.
Will probably check out discord in the future
No, it's all the game mods.

Cardiff Airport Aerial view[2014]
If you like aircraft, then this could interest you.
I had a career in aviation and have worked on, and even flew, many aircraft types.
Both rotary and fixed wing, fast military jet and wide bodied civilian airframes.
Cardiff International Airport [CWL] and St. Athan are my local aviation hubs.
I created the forum thread as I still have that interest in aviation.
I still miss the smell of 'avtur' and hydraulic oil. Lol
For more goings on please check out my thread on the forum in TNP's Community Center, Bulletin Board.
If you like what you see there, please click the 'like' button on the relevant posts.
Which aircraft or photo will be the overall favourite? :D
Please enjoy!

Then try this thread too! :)

In World War II thousands of planes crashed in the UK.
Not all losses were combat: many were flying accidents due to factors such as bad weather, pilot error or mechanical failure.
129 aircraft crash sites in the South Wales area have been identified.
These have been sorted, duplicates erased and other non-military crashes removed and a further 59 new site records created.
176 aircraft crash sites (terrestrial, intertidal and maritime) are now represented within this thread.
Distribution of aircraft crash sites across South Wales
Aircraft crash sites are a tangible yet enigmatic reminder of the massive changes of the 20th century.
They embody the futility of modern warfare and the potential for instant destruction while demonstrating the technological leaps seen in aviation during the course of the century.
And revealing the history of triumph and disaster.
Providing a memorial to the air crews and the stories behind the final flights of each aircraft.
They have long been the subject of enquiry for many different groups of people, and this has often resulted in the depletion of wreckage from the sites.
Each military aircraft crash site is designated as a Protected Place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986.
Any intervention on a site requires a license approved by the JCCC Agency of the MoD.
Licenses will not be granted where human remains or unexploded ordnance are anticipated.
As this thread will be finite, I will be posting it in the Community Centre's Polaris Library.
You will find the thread Here
Please remember to 'like' the posts if you like them. :D
