Ethnon Information Service Announcement:

All nations of The North Pacific

The World Assembly Development Program currently does a wonderful job of explaining a lot of the benefits of joining the WA already, but this dispatch is designed to be a little easier to follow.

You can browse the various benefits at your leisure or read through each one fully, either way it's my hope that you'll get a general sense for this extra layer to the game.

So without further ado, let's explore why joining the World Assembly is one of the best things you can do in NationStates.

The Benefits of World Assembly Membership

Welcome

The World Assembly Development Program currently does a wonderful job of explaining a lot of the benefits of joining the WA already, but this dispatch is designed to be a little easier to follow. You can browse the various benefits at your leisure or read through each one fully, either way it's my hope that you'll get a general sense for this extra layer to the game. So without further ado, let's explore why joining the World Assembly is one of the best things you can do in NationStates.

➕ Unlock More Of NationStates

If you're relatively new to this game, by now you've probably answered a couple of interesting issues, set your national policies for the economy, civil rights, and political freedoms, or maybe just said hello on the Regional Message Board. The World Assembly unlocks a whole new layer of NationStates for you to explore, from voting on international legislation to exchanging endorsements with other nations. But what do those things mean?

➕ Join In Under Five Minutes

Assuming you haven't joined the World Assembly yet on any other nation, doing so is super simple and only takes a few minutes.

  1. Set an email for your nation at the bottom of your settings page.

  2. Go to the World Assembly.

  3. Press 'Apply to Join'.

  4. Click the link in the confirmation email sent by NationStates.

  5. Confirm that you'd like to join and you're in!

The badge below will then be added to your nation page signifying your membership.

➕ Influence Our Regional Vote

Well, now you're a member of the World Assembly, the first thing you need to know is that it's the place for international legislation and discussion. This essentially means that laws are drafted and put forward by other members for you and the rest of the WA to vote on! For example, take a look at the current resolution at vote in the World Assembly.

You can cast your vote by clicking on the resolution, reading through it, and voting at the bottom of the page. In addition to this, you can cast your vote on our Linkregional forums, which directly affects how the World Assembly Delegate votes. This gives you a lot of power since the size of the delegate's vote corresponds to their endorsements, which currently stand at over 800. A vote of that size can significantly impact whether or not a resolution passes.

The green arrow below indicates how impactful our regional vote is on the overall tallies for and against a resolution.

➕ Gain Endorsements Very Quickly

Endorsements create influence for nations, which essentially makes them more powerful. The World Assembly Delegate for The North Pacific is the nation with the most endorsements and, outside of delegacy transitions, is also the elected Delegate, which is the head of the government. Every four months the general election is held where the region's citizens decide who should be the Delegate for the next term. You can become more powerful and influential by endorsing other nations because they're more likely to endorse you back. Most active endorsers can quickly get to over 400 endorsements in no time at all. If gaining influence and endorsements is your thing, the World Assembly is for you.

To endorse other World Assembly nations, you can either:

  1. [RECOMMENDED] Use Linkthis website, developed by Refuge Isle. All you need to do is type your nation in the left box and "The North Pacific" in the right box. It will then generate a list of nations for you to endorse. Then, click on each nation, scroll down, and press the endorse button.

  2. You can look at the endorsements of other nations and find more World Assembly nations from there.

This is what your endorsements could look like in just a few days to a week if you endorse everyone!

➕ Win Prizes and Awards

Every week, a report is produced detailing our current performance in the World Assembly. This often includes data regarding nations not endorsing the Delegate and Vice Delegate, as well as new member shout outs (you'll get one if you've joined), and recognition for our Keepers of the North which will be explained in the section below.

In addition to that, one Keeper every week is rewarded with a free legendary card! In the Christmas Edition of the report, four nations were rewarded with the legendary cards below! Not only do we give out those, but we also award the shout out badge and the Keeper of the North badge, which can be placed in signatures.

➕ Help Improve Regional Security

Another crucial benefit to joining the World Assembly is that doing so, and exchanging endorsements with other nations, improves regional security. By generating more influence and increasing endorsement levels, we become harder to attack or raid, strengthening our security. The best way to do so is by becoming a Keeper of the North, which means you've endorsed the Delegate, Vice Delegate, and all of our region's Security Councilors. You can find links to those nations below, so make sure to go endorse them. You'll be recognized in the weekly WA reports and will be eligible for a free legendary card.

For more information about the Keepers of the North, read this dispatch.

The nation Meadowfields, for example, managed to increase their influence levels by 250,000 in approximately six months, as you can see below. That could be you too!

➕ Get To Know Other Nations

A great part of exchanging endorsements, if you choose to do so, is the opportunity to send other nations telegrams introducing yourself and kindly asking that they return the endorsement you have given to them. Not only does this extend an expression of goodwill, but you're actively helping one another to gain influence! Over time, if you become an active part of our Regional Message Board too, you'll have spoken to so many other nations and will likely have gained a lot more endorsements too.

For over ten years the World Assembly Development Program has connected nations across The North Pacific and empowered them toward greater influence, endorsement levels, and prominence within the community. So, if you want a slice of the pie, and you're interesting in unlocking features of NationStates you might not have experienced before, join the World Assembly today.

If you have any questions, feel free to telegram any of the members of the Security Council listed above, the Delegate, or the Vice Delegate.

Have a great day!

Jointly sponsored by the Delegate and Security Council of The North Pacific.
