i think youre missing the point here

the purpose of pride month isnt as much to 'celebrate ones sexuality' as much as it is to attempt to integrate lgbt people into society; while in most modern countries nowadays the governments have passed lgbt friendly laws, thousands of people are still being prosecuted, beaten up, disinherited, discriminated, imprisoned or straight up killed for something that isnt within their capacity to control
heck, in my country we had a pretty large group of people that marched on a street (where there was a pride parade the previous day) with incense, crosses and priests to 'purify' that street and pray for those that participated, you can tell how much ones sexuality bothers the population over here

Pride Month is really important for raising awareness, not just being this "celebration".
You can have your Independence Day and your Pride Month at the same time, they are both equally as important.
But to say that there is no need for such a month, given the oppression of a marginalised group of HUMANS, that's right, actual real-blooded authentic PEOPLE, is absolutely and utterly ridiculous.

And we do celebrate people's sexualities. Why? Because those people have the courage to look the world in the eyes and say, "I can be who I want to be, and I'm willing to stand out from the crowd."
