Losing speed is actually a gigantic problem in space. Since there is no friction, only the engine power can slow it down(larger ships harder to slow down due to momentum)
Which is why irl spacecraft can take 13 months to reach Jupiter only if they don’t plan to land.
If they do, it can take 5-10 years.
