Comrades,

This region is meant to be the headquarters of The Marxist Scholar circle. The RMB is completely available to all member nations and feel free to post at any time. I also ask that all member states send a puppet nation to this region to represent said group member in discussions and group activities.

Has anyone started on The State and Revolution yet like I have? I'm on chapter 3.

I would also like to get an idea on how much time everyone would need to complete the first section. 5 days is what I was rooting for.

Comrade Ming has suggested the current chapter selection be shortened to the first chapter and the duration reduced to 3 days. She brought up the point that some might lose interest if the goal was too generalized and the time duration too nonspecific. I agree with her in this, so I have shorted the goal to Chapter One: "The State a Product of the Irreconcilability of Class Antagonisms" and the duration edited to an allotted time of 3 days. If you want to read beyond the goal and progress to chapter two or even chapter three before the allotted time, then you are welcomed to. Just don't get too far ahead.

I will also be regularly checking to see if group members have been reading and keeping up with the goals. The duration in which the goal is to be reached will be adjusted according to the difficulty and longevity of the literature at hand and the amount being read by the group on a collective level.

That was a good sized chapter - if we could keep reading to this amount every three days everyone should be able to find the time to be able to take part and keep up. It's only 10-15 minutes every three days comrades and I think you'll find a difference in your education in a month's time - which will fly by.

My life is busy, sometimes I can only 'check' Nationstates for security of my regions - but it's not hard to find 15 minutes in 3 days - even those of us with really busy schedules should be able to keep this commitment.

Agreed.

I also will present my notes and I want anyone who wants to critique them or express their opinions on them.

Chapter One: The Working class Struggle against the bourgeoisie is impossible without a struggle against opportunist prejudices concerning the
"state".

Engels in The Orgin of the Family: "...might not consume themselves and society in fruitless
struggle, it became necessary to have a power, seemingly standing above society, that would
alleviate the conflict and keep it within the bounds of 'order'; and this power, arisen out of
society but placing itself above it, and alienating itself more and more from it, is the state."
According to Marx, the state could neither have arisen nor maintained itself had it
been possible to reconcile classes.

CONCLUSION OF CHAPTER ONE: The State is an organ of class oppression and the state is often misconceived by many factions of the internationale.
the state arises above society to opress the other class.

There are some who are time constrained and don't have enough time or simply don't want to study in their occasional leisure time in this circle so I will be stretching the next allotted duration to the weekend, and on the weekend, there will be a more rigorous schedule. And whether you keep up or not, I will continue to move on. However, I'll try my best to give you a good amount of time.

We are officially moving onto the next section.

I'm a very strong believer in it. I'd expand on that, but its late, maybe tomorrow.

As for my answer I do agree with it.

I'm officially leaving MSC.

I plan to stick around. I may not contribute much but I really do love reading comrades' opinions on various topics.

Socialist education

Hey comrades, I'm a puppet of Aspergeria's. I'm excited about this project.

Socialist education

I see, in the regional welcome telegram, that I was supposed to have registered with Marxist Scholar Vanguard and/or Communal earth. I will do so ASAP.

Welcome comrade :)

Socialist education

LOL, I jut responded to an in-game issue in which one of the characters is a fascist. In a show of nationalistic pride, this fictional fascist shouted the motto of this nation, Socialist education. Even as far as computer-generated characters go, it isn't everyday you hear a fascist take pride in "Literacy is the path the communism!"

MSC News:

North Korea has officially decided to move forward in the Marxist scholar movement by making this group a regional priority. Inevitably, North Korea wishes to become actively more involved with the spread of Marxist education throughout nation states by taking a more active role in the direction of this group. Soon, there will be more discussion, regular goals placed, and more regions to follow behind North Korea's example in the nation states Marxist educational movement. I feel this group will move forward, under North Korea's direction with solid group activity and flowing discussions among comrades. The real question is: are you prepared to take an active role in the scholar movement, or are you going to sit idle?

I am glad you have taken interest in our new scholar movement. Some comrades in North Korea have realized that education is perhaps the most important tenet of leftist unity, and possibly the most effective in combating forces of ideological ignorance. As an inter-regional scholar community, we accept open-minded and mature people willing to dedicate time in educating themselves, but at the same time, having the collective good in our hearts and minds- united in our cause. This region is not somewhere to show off what you know about Marxism. This organization is all about organizing the nation states communities and uniting them under the collective goal of educating comrades in the intellectual direction towards revolutionary thought. This region is for challenging each other, setting goals- being apart of a community.

Many of us are here now, perhaps introductions would be nice?

I am Marxist-feminists, founder of North Korea.
I currently live near Toronto Canada but was born in Vinh Vietnam.

Politically, I consider myself a Marxist-Leninist and have a particular interest in the Korean revolution. I've been a member of the Communist Party of Canada for 7 years.
