Al asad caliphate

Western Arab Empire wrote:I personally think Benjamin Franklin deserves a Broadway musical or a good Hollywood movie. He's the underdog of the American Revolution. Without him, it's likely the war would have started much earlier and gone on for much longer.

I want a film on ol’ Sherman or John Brown
The Scourge of the North and the Saint of Torrington
They are the greatest American revolutionaries
And the only ones worthy of monuments
Permanently fixed to the ground

My favorite monument is the Monument of the Boot at Saratoga.

It is legendary, and lovely
At least it doesn’t take away from me
The hope of the American Dream

Al asad caliphate wrote:If I Were To Marry

I’d want a courthouse ceremony,
Having imagined it being the two of us
Finally alone together
Now eternally intertwining passions, lives, and fates
Finally deciding to never
To part
Lost in the other’s eyes all the while
Unable to contain our divine smiles
No longer needing to wait
No need to anticipate or guess
With her and God’s guidance
I’ll be reborn into a new chapter of life
Alongside a loving wife

My thoughts exactly :)

Al asad caliphate

If I Were A Rich Man
I would love the life I live
Because I’d have so much more to give
If I were a wealthy man

I would dine like an Ottoman Sultan
Pomegranates and olives everyday
I wouldn’t have to worry where my life is going
Just how much I need to save

If I were a rich man
I could put others before myself, for a start.
But when you slave under a full moon
You fear everyone’s trying to fool you
You quickly learn to harden your heart

My friends would no longer be called thugs
They’d be known as entrepreneurs
No longer selling drugs or firing slugs
They could live so much better, so much more
Pardon the ones who committed crimes for survival
Doomed to struggle upon their arrival
Into this harsh world, created without a way
To make ends meet we looked to the street
Accusing the innocent and abusing the insane
Were just necessary evils along the path
Just to make a living wage
Under me all the pain and the shame
Would just go away
If I were a wealthy man

Western Arab Empire wrote:Alexander Hamilton is essentially the father of capitalist mercantile America. He envisioned an America of elites, rather than one of the common man. He basically stood for everything your heroes stood against.

That last poem was pretty interesting. Though I'm probably going to have to sleep on it before I can actually figure out a meaning.

When I was young I thought the Buddha spoke to me
A young hood a already knows true suffering
Beyond a rich man’s comprehension aside from “life’s lonely.”

Everyday I see the Four Noble Truths
Everything’s here today and gone tomorrow
Whether it’s sickle cell or being shanked in a prison cell
Let it be a warning to you

Life and death are born from attachments
Nothing to gain, nothing to lose
This is the most powerful of human mindsets
One that both the king and monk refuse

Both are prisoners of their addiction
Greater knowledge brings greater sorrow
Though ignorance remains their affliction
The wise live everyday like there’s no tomorrow

The wise accept the world as it is
Hoping to leave it better than it was found
Every man to bare the sins of the world as his
Sadly ended up in the ground

“I live with calculated madness
A new day brings both cackling and sadness
I think I’ve about had it
Some things even a poet-preacher can’t manage
If I lose yet another friend
If violent deeds do indeed bring violent ends
Please, let it also be the end of me.”

Then after many nights and many dreams
I begin to seek more
I think after all this time,
It seems I am able to find
Exactly what I’m looking for
But that’d be a story for another time
More Bozisms and humor WAE too dry

This really grinds my gears...in America things like this shouldn't happen but alas I live in an A**backwards nation drowning in its own materialistic nightmare where Islam is seen as a mere synonom for terror nevermind that fact that fundamentalism as rule of thumb is hardly unique to the faith we hold so dear to our hearts and our souls.

Better to make coffee at home in the traditional fashion to be drunk in the company of good friends and family - the Bosnian way!

That was very demeaning and insulting what they did to that Muslim woman. I remember a barista did something similar to a police officer a few years ago. The idea that you could find prejudice even on the side of a coffee cup is strange.

I've been kicked out of a coffee shop and a restaurant for having traditional hajabi and scarf around my face and been called Arab terrorist 😢♀️ when I was at a computer shop because my clothing 💆

I'm sorry that happened to you. But I know that in spite of the discrimination and bigotry you faced, you came out stronger. Your shop will never turn away a person based on the color of their skin or their religion, showing that you are more American than those that dared to kick you out of their stores.

Ooof, that smarts. A few years ago someone told me to go back to Ireland...I was livid as my family has root there despite separation going back to the 18th century. The constant referance to terrorism and the equally distasteful use of the term Muslim to envoke images of supposedly bloodthirsty Arabs is something I abhor vehemently

When I told my mother and father about my reversion to Islam they told me: Don't become a radical

I rolled my eyes...my Islam has nothing to do with terror or sense intolerance. My customs are western by default with traces of Bosniak and Turkish influences mixed in.
