Murica is in anarchy, bit like 1990 Bulgarian People's Republic before it fell.

Ah elections. I don’t know much about Bulgarian politics, but I’m interested. What are the major parties and what do they stand for?

America isn’t quite an anarchy yet thank God. I just hope Inauguration Day is peaceful... no more violent stuff.

Newcastle-tyne wrote:The main parties are:
GEBP= led by current PM Boyko Borisov and are Liberal-Conservatives,they won the elections ever since 2010 and have majority of seats and support Pro-Europeanism,most Bulgarians believe Borisov should have another term since his effective leadership led us to the rise of the GDP per capita in Bulgaria, defeating Croatia,Serbia and Greece according to IMF.

BSP= This coalition party are left leaning and the biggest opponent to Borisov, they're led by a female leader if that's intresting.

DSP= This is the 3rd largest party in Bulgaria and are a Turkish-Bulgarian minority led group, they are small in contrast to BSP and GEBP but still have a large following in the public and the parliament with 25 seats behind BSP and the GEBP,their president and chairman are Turkish-Bulgarian minority aswell, they want to see the government help the intrests of Turkish minorities in Bulgaria.

RB: The Reformist Block were a party that lasted only 2 years until 2014 when they were dissolved, they were Christian Democrats, they didn't get any replacement.

PF: The Patriotic Front of Bulgaria lasted for 4 years until dissolved by it's leaders grabbing only 1 EU Parliament seat, they're replaced by United Patriots Party.

BSP: The BSP are one of the oldest Bulgarian political parties and are one of the largest in Bulgaria.

IMRO: The IMRO are the most extremist group in Bulgaria, they believe in an Bulgarian ultranationalistic ethnostate which also believe that people who are homosexuals and muslim people should be imprisoned, which again no other party likes, they also think the protests that are ongoing (peaceful demonstrations) against the 3rd Borisov Government is an ploy by the US,Russia,China and Turkey to cause chaos in the Balkans.

These are big parties and there's more but yeah, that's it.

Fun fact: Bulgarian diaspora of Europe and North America are protesting Borisov's regime and EVEN in Washington DC where you know..the whole Capitol raid is going on.

Wow you took the time to write all that out. Thanks man.

So is Borisov authoritarian? From your post he just seemed like the classic centre-right pro-EU politician until you described his administration as a regime.

And who do you support?

Was always mad

Newcastle-tyne wrote:I support the United Patriots Party they believe that Bulgaria needs to be saved from the economical issues with massive reforms and lightening the taxes on the lower class who are somewhat struggling and yeah somewhat true.Borisov is a tyrant, generic Pro-EU guy but we all have to admit,he did reform the economy. But yes i'm an member of the UPP due to their lib-left policies and even Rumen Radev, the President of Bulgaria believes that if Borisov gets too idiotic he will depose him from GEBP and the leading seat of Prime Ministry, also i do hope US Inaguaration Day is def. not violent and a peaceful passing of power happents.

Interesting. Hopefully Borisov doesn’t do any funky sh*t.

Me too. I live too close to the capital for comfort.

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack miss meeeeee???

Newcastle-tyne wrote:Lets all hope, lets all hope that Boris doesn't do any literally funky sh*t with his ego.

I live literally 100 meters(or yards) near the protest in Burgas so i'm scared to leave my home without like one gun for self defense.

...you literally have to carry a gun?

It’s now that I realize just how privileged I am to live in America.

Isanastivia wrote:I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack miss meeeeee???

You seem vaguely familiar

Freddoria wrote:*Continues eating a pastry*

Hmm. . .

Newcastle-tyne wrote:Yup,i literally have to carry an M9 on me to feel safe.

Goddamn that’s crazy. Stay safe dude.

That’s not something most people in my quiet mostly well off average American neighborhood can relate to.

Newcastle-tyne wrote:I'm sure any American can't relate to carrying an M9 pistol in 7 am(GMT+2) going to work,well it's normal here...Yeah.

Well I mean I’m sure some can in impoverished areas of major cities, particularly in the Midwest. But yeah most cannot.

Last I heard a Conservative party had won elections and was trying to get the economy working again before Covid hit.

And there was the whole Aegean dispute with Turkey. F*ck Turkey man
