It had been a rainy day. By now, sirens warned of Aldian missiles attacks almost daily. But after the fall of Yokishima and the loss of key air fields and supply depots, strikes had become more common.

He had been praying at the Shinto shrine in the Sakura garden when a cloud of fire erupted in the northern quarter of the palace. Apparently a maid and guard had been killed, but everything was a blur as he was rushed into the bunker complex under the palace.

His eyes show distaste in Japan. To him, his country had never acknowledged its own evils, yet it had built it’s society on the evils committed against it. He’d read the books on World War Two and the Old Empire. The blazing sun flag of the Old Empire still flew on the masts of Imperial warships.
