Central macedonia wrote:RTCM Media Group d.o.o (a division of Eos News & Media d.o.o) have announced yesterday that it has acquired a 80% majority stake in SBC TV (Spainard's leading television station) from the government of Spainard for R300 million as part of its efforts to target younger audiences and to expand the brand into newer markets throughout the Otoris (Eos) region.

RTCM executives have said to us that it will use the purchase as a starting point in launching a dedicated Spainard-based operation in which it will produce Spainard-focused news/sports programmes for SBC TV, as well as producing shows for the company's leading brands (TCM, TCM Eos, TCM 2, TCM 2 Eos, EA.TV Eos, etc.) and Streamy (the company's upcoming OTT service). RTCM executives have also said to us that the Putingrad-based broadcaster will rebrand SBC TV as TCM Spainard and that it will launch TCM 2 Spainard (Spainard's 2nd commercial TV channel), a localized version of Eyewitness News 24/7 (Central Macedonia and the Otoris (Eos) region's leading 24-hour news/information channel), and 2 radio stations (which will serve the needs of local residents living in Spainard) so in an effort to target younger audiences in Spainard and to help revitalize the nation's declining media industry.

Meanwhile, RTCM executives have begun plans to transform SBC's existing studios in downtown Asturiosia from an existing radio/TV broadcasting facility into a 96,000 state-of-the art multimedia facility (to be known as the RTCM Multimedia Center) in which it will serve as the studios of SBC TV, the soon-to-be launched TCM 2 Spainard, Eyewitness News 24/7 (for its localized programming), Digital+ Eos (for its selected entertainment programming) and 2 unplanned radio stations (which will serve and target the people of Spainard). In addition, The RTCM Multimedia Center will serve as the regional offices for Streamy (its upcoming OTT service) and it also serve as a playout facility for Digital+ Eos (the company's pan-regional subscription TV service) and some of the company's TV stations like 1TV Kargenistan and TCM Militcom.

RTCM Spainard d.o.o (a division of Eos News & Media d.o.o) have announced today that it will move the analog frequency of SBC TV (soon-to-be known as TCM Spainard) from channel 6 to channel 2 (with an ERP of 50kW) starting this fall and will launch a full-time digital simulcast of SBC TV on digital channel 2.1 (with an ERP of 240kW) starting in July 2020 as part of its long-term efforts to revitalize the ratings-challenged station and to make it strongly competitive in the ratings. RTCM executives have said to us today that the change will enable viewers in Spainard to receive a clear and improved signal of SBC TV and that it will help reduce signal issues.

Meanwhile, RTCM have announced that it will sell SBC TV's soon-to-be former channel 6 frequency to TV6 Media Group d.o.o for about R21.2 million so that it will enable TV6 to help expand its signal into additional areas throughout the Otoris (Eos) region and to help promote media diversity in Spainard.
