The Members of the Assembly,

Today is a special day for us all. 10 years ago on this day, the Democraticc Socialist Assembly was founded. On this day, the region was created and our history began. What once was a splinter region fleeing from an abusive Founder has grown and flourished into a grand region with a rich and diverse history to it. For 10 years, people from around the world have come together to contribute to this region, to this community. 66 people have served as Minister or Councilor in the DSA over the past 10 years, 66 people choosing to spend their time making the community a better place. That’s remarkable to me, that so many people have been involved in this project of ours. That’s only Ministers and Councilors as the list of Directors and Aides would most certainly raise it tremendously higher.

Over the 3 years I have been part of the DSA, I have come to love the region and it has become a second home to me. So many friends have been made here by me and my time here is one I will remember for a long time to come. I’ve seen many people come and many leave, some for the better and some for the worst. I have seen the region fall apart 3 times while I have been here, and yet the DSA continues on. We have grown, altered, withered, blossomed, and we continue to strive along. I’ll be the first to admit that I have not always been happy with the direction that the region has gone and is going, and yet it is still one I call home, one I take pride in, one that stands above all else for me.

We mark today as 10 years of play, of governing, of debate and argument, of conversation, of engagement, of creativity, of heartache, of joy, and of community. What lies for us in the future, I cannot say. Will we continue on? Will we rise higher than before? Will we crumble? Will The Black Hawks finally claim us as a trophy? Any are possible and we will just have to see. I thank you all who have been here and contributed to our region for making the region not just a Nationstates region, but an experience and a home.
