Speaking of 40k, I'm not sure why I never had this idea before but I feel stupid for not thinking of it back when we had some activity in the region.
It would've been fun to run a 40k RP, but how it works is instead of an arbitrary plot of land or worlds or a whole faction, instead every player has a point pool and you can build whatever force you want within the limits of those points
With the caveat that there can be no named characters from existing fluff.
