I could see large empires “falling” while smaller nations that do a good job surviving the zombies gain in strength as a result. It would actually reward those players that are playing during the zombie outbreak.

I like this idea too though I think there would be some serious hissy fits if that got implemented. It would be nice if NS just took that extra little step forward and give us a truly amazing sim.

I'm not going to be able to make it to the zombie thing today. I still have no power (going near 24 hours) and a fire is about 3 to 4 miles away. Got to love fire season in southern California.

Wow. Stay safe! The Technate got this zombie thing handled.

No more zombies in Saratoga

Fire is around 70% contained. Luckily if you can call it that only 6 houses burn down. It burn only 200 acres but embers where going a mile away. Everyone is fine here. I didn't mention it before (why I've been quiet) my Dad died 2 months ago. His last week he was on a ventilator and they gave us a oxygen tank if the power went out. I would have been pissed if something happened to my dad if SCE shut the power down like they did when he was still around. There shutting power off so they don't get sued if a power line causes a fire. A power company up north p and g I think caused a huge fire last year. The power company got blamed for about 6 billion dollars last year in damages.

So sorry to hear about your dad. My condolences to you and your family.

The situation between the fires and the blackouts is very disturbing. Seems to be a type of perfect storm between the severe drought CA is suffering and how your energy grid is setup. I'm glad to hear you're safe though.

Thank you. The problem with the power companies is that they led the grid to deteriorate in places in the middle of nowhere or hard to get to. It'll take them years to upgrade if they do at all.

New poll time! and its actually not food related! pick your wizard powers!!

Damn chilly, raining and sleeting here in Philly. Blah day.

I prefer the cold myself. It's supposed to be 80 or so here. Though cold is relative here "cold" here is like in the 50's.

Wanna trade houses for the winter? :)

One thing good about California is if I want snow I can drive to the mountains and the cold weather and the best part is that I can drive away from it. I guess I like snow because it's just a temporary option here. I couldn't imagine shoveling it and dealing with it on a daily basis.

I would kill for 50 right now. We're dealing with 2.

Aww... sounds like paradise (not counting the wild fires). Luckily we don't get the amount of snow our Minnesotan friends get, and not nearly as cold. I don't mind a little snow and a quiet chilly night, but I can't stand the cold, wet, breezy weather we get on the East Coast this time of year until spring hits. The snow is actually a bit of relief. Of course, it's not easy dealing with a lot of it in a city though. More than 10 inches, all traffic stops, schools and businesses are closed, stores are ransacked, and people start going feral–fast.

There are certain days I just want to break NationStates. Like break it into a bunch of little pieces. Crush the little pieces into dust, and then light the dust on fire and laugh manically as it bursts into flames.

So, third time this has happened to me now. This morning, I had a trading card that only 3 players owned, including myself. We were the only 3 to own the card for something like a year and a half now. I decide to bid 6 bucks for the card using a puppet (Wicko), so I can transfer cash over from the puppet. Thirty minutes into the auction, (again for the 3rd damn time), a NEW player magically gets the card and immediately tries to jump on the auction and freaking under-sell me! WTF!?! Break it! Break it! I want to break it!

We also have earthquakes. You don't know when and where until it happens.

They were telling people to be careful because of a frost warning when we dropped to low temperature here. Though we rarely drop low but we(California people) can't drive in rain or snow well.
