What is your favourite documentary?

I'm a huge baseball fan so I'm inclined to say Baseball by Ken Burns. It is extremely well made. Or anything from Secret Base.

As you can tell, I love sports documentaries but I do mean to watch more history and music based ones.

Question of the Day:

What historical or mythological event of your nation is disputed by others (particularly by nations your people claim to be involved?)

Tethys 13 wrote:My answer:

The Hunting of the Saved. The Tethysi of the Order of the Aqua Hippeastrum have a mission of finding those with knowledge of Tethys 13's past, and in doing so, uncovered a conspiracy by a coalition of nations to exterminate several planets the Tethysi once saved. After the Order's intervention, those nations claimed they were merely performing an orderly encroachment to ensure the security of their trade routes. The resulting conflict eventually stalemated, requiring outside intervention to end, and both sides claim the other to have instigated it.

The Legend of the Angels at Maitre. The folktale goes that the Fourth Infantry Division that took up arms against the old Republic and ignited the revolutionary independence war for the Principality was protected by supernatural, omnipresent angelic entities that safeguarded and warned the soldiers that an impending military encirclement was immanent, which miraculously managed to hold out the settlement despite being outgunned and outnumbered by a vast ratio until reinforcement could arrive. While some witnessed such a phenomenon occurring, other more skeptic historians simply include it as a case of strategic military defeat on behalf of the Republican forces that were dispatched to crack down the uprising which would explain the strange lights on the night sky, hence coincidentally providing a respite for the defenders and an opportunity to lift the siege. Nonetheless, it has been a part of the city's historical and cultural heritage, which the valiant defenders including all those who scarified for the campaign are commemorated in a monument dedicated to the martyrs, as well as an army song that was later adopted officially after the war, which remains popular among the ranks of the armed force after all the centuries.

Standing in the face of tyrannical socialism,
Against the exploiters and capitalism.
We the soldiers of morality,
Shall march on eternally.

If they tell you that I fell,
Just know that I went to my post up there.
I'll take my place alongside my companions who stand on guard in the heavens,
with a hard countenance, they are present in our efforts.

Onwards, squadrons, onwards.
Toward the dawn of our victory.

The administration of Iran (the RL country, not anything on NationStates)

I write lyrics to songs (I've got like twenty folders on My Drive and four notebooks that are filled with lyrics) even though I don't have a band or a lot of musical expertise.

Worldbuilding the culinary customs of my fictional countries. It is reasonable to understand some aspects of agriculture in your country such as crops and/or their agricultural practices but it isn't practical to create an elaborate cuisine for your country in most cases. There are few applications for that beyond flavor and there are even less people that care. Regardless, I have always developed the cuisine for the majority of my countries at an early stage and sometimes, I will start with the cuisine and agriculture of the country after I have developed the basic geography and structure.

Math mostly. I can easily spend hours to days working at a single problem for no reason. I'm no longer planning on going into a math field. There is no real point to me spending so much time sinking into mathematical concepts with no place to apply or even talk about them. My current thread is vector spaces despite opting out of taking a class in it. It calls to me nonetheless.

Worshippers of spiders

Finished a factbook on a separatist Movement in my nation, still gotta finish up the other two though:

Separatist Movement: Langolistan

by Worshippers of spiders

Langolistan
The First Republic of Langolistan

Date:

Tensions Rising

Location:

Langol speaking regions (Angoliland)

Ideology:

National Conservatism

Leader:

"President" Victoria Eiswik

Cause:

Oppression and "cultural genocide" of the Langoli

Goals:

Overthrow Angoliland State Government, establish a independent Republic

Methods:

Protests, Propaganda, Demonstrations

His greatness, the People's President Isaac Fraiser, has with accordance with the Council of Economics and Council of Defense, denied all chances for Langoli independence, and warns that these people are nationalist barbarians who will do anything to tear Heiliger apart.

The protests began in 2013, when newly elected state governor "Sarah Hameian" was elected into power in the state Angoliland. She was a first in that she wasn't aligned with any major corporate groups, instead being aligned to a new party she formed. This was the "Regional Langoli Best Interests League", a party long infamous for it's defamatory comments and propaganda against Heiliger's "Corporate run democratic system", a myth debunked by the Council of Economics and Council of Justice.

Obviously such a party couldn't be allowed to have power in a state, so the People's President Isaac Fraiser delivered swift justice, as the 19th Directory was put into play, allowing her power to be vetoed and the continued rule of previous governor "Harry Fundermen" to continue his governorship. This lead to outrage among Hameian's supporters and the R.L.B.I.L, leading to mass protest across Angoliland. This even resulted in the infamous "Hillden Feb 12th Bombings" by rioters.

Using the “Mother”, “Father” and “Spouse” sections in people’s Wikipedia arrival to make a concise family tree of major nobles in the south German and piedmont regions of Europe. I now have a png file that I have to zoom out to 10% to see in its entirety. Will it ever see the light of day? No. Will it be helpful in the future? Probably not. And yet I still constantly work on it.

According to my country's stats, smoking weed.

But in my mind, it has to be reading. We believe that is the best way to spend your free time. Especially when you do it outside, it just makes the whole experience better
