Feels right to update y'all on this, I legit forgot:

She's at home, in our cures now, and feels like she's recovering from her respiratory infection.

She didn't cough once since her discharge, and her breathing seems going normal. She is slowly returning to her standard behaviour, although her brother, sadly, struggles to recognise her and doesn't try to interact much with her, even if they were really close before.

As for the heart thing, she has a cardiomyopathy in an advanced state: she seemingly always had it. There are cats that live with it fine, but at this advanced state we cannot predict how many years does she still have to live... at least we have her in our comforting hands for the time being, that's something... I hope.

Hi y'all - I recently finished a major expansion to the Leftist Library. It's a bit of a unique one, in that I added a new volume - a special volume, dedicated to one specific topic.

So, let me introduce y'all to the Leftist Library's Special Volume on Palestine. This took me... god, 6-7 hours to complete?? So, without further a do, here ya go:

The Leftist Library's Special Volume on Palestine is a compilation of various resources covering the situation in Palestine, intended for education, praxis, and other uses. This special volume was made in the midst of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, where at the time of writing this volume, more than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 79,000 have been wounded. This volume was made in order to educate people on the situation in Palestine, both before and after Oct 7, and to counter the atrocious media reporting, consent-manufacturing, and Hasbara on this situation.

I would recommend following the social media accounts of local SJP, YDSA, JVP and/or IfNotNow chapters at your local college campus - even if your local campus is small, odds are that a pro-Palestine student organization at that campus exists and is doing good work! Most pro-Palestine student organizations have Instagram accounts, so check on Instagram to see if your local campus' organization(s) has an account. It is especially important to follow these accounts due to the frequently inaccurate and plainly false media coverage of these protests, which often blindly report propaganda and Hasbara as facts - these organizations' accounts provide on-the-ground information about these protests that can help counter propagandistic media coverage. Plus, as most campuses are open to everyone, feel free to attend any events or protests being hosted by any of these organizations! (However, make sure to keep yourself safe at protests.)

An assorted list of social media accounts:

There is a wide variety of dis- and misinformation regarding the campus protests and student intifada. I haven't seen a ton of major resources dedicated to refuting these myths, so let us do so here.

MYTH: Most pro-Palestine campus protests are violent.
FACT: An independent non-profit, the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (Acled), has analyzed 553 Palestine campus protests and have found that Link97% of campus protests are non-violent. Furthermore, of the 3% that were violent, half were due to police attempting to clear out Gaza campus encampments.

MYTH: Most or many pro-Palestine campus protestors are anti-semitic.
FACT: This is mostly based on the myth that anti-Zionism is anti-semitism, which is addressed Linkhere. While there have been a relatively small amount of isolated, scattered anti-semitic incidents, this is not representative of the pro-Palestine student movement, which has been very quick to denounce anti-semitism. One should also note that Jewish anti-Zionist students and faculty, as well as organizations like Jewish Voice for Peace and If Not Now, have played a major role in organizing the protests and encampments. (LinkSource)

MYTH: Chants like "intifada", "from the river to the sea", and "we don't want no two-state" are anti-semitic and/or hateful.
FACT: None of these statements are anti-semitic or hateful. "Intifada" is merely the Arabic word for "resistance", and while generally used in the context of Palestinian resistance, it has been applied outside of that - notably Western Sahara (LinkFirst and LinkSecond Sahrawi Intifadas), Bahrain (the LinkMarch Intifada), and has even been applied to the Arab Spring (for instance, the Tunisian Revolution being referred to as the "Tunisian Intifada") and the Warsaw Ghetto uprising (as the "Warsaw Ghetto intifada"). When Palestinians and protestors chant "from the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free", they are calling for a state covering the entire Palestine region that is tolerant of all ethnicities and religions and doesn't exist at the expense of the subjugation of others - see Linkhere for more. Similar logic applies to the slogan "we don't want no two-state, we want all of '48".

MYTH: Pro-Palestine students at UC Berkeley attacked Jewish students during a speaker event.
FACT: This statement is lying, both blatantly and by omission. The fact is that pro-Palestine students were protesting an event organized by Zionist student organizations featuring racist former IOF soldier Ran Bar-Yoshafat, who has claimed that "every school, mosque, hospital, kindergarten [in Gaza] - all - without exception - is a terror camp. There is no exception. There is not even one exception." The protest was explicitly meant to be non-violent, and while there was an isolated breaking of a window (which is just property damage after all), the vast majority of protestors did not engage in violence. On the other hand, police acted extremely violently towards student protestors, who reportedly had their heads smashed against doors, their necks grabbed and their bodies slammed. Despite these facts, most news organizations reported the "pro-Palestine protestors attack Jewish students" myth as fact, showing a blatant lack of journalistic integrity. (LinkSource)

MYTH: Pro-Palestine students at Northeastern University students chanted "kill the Jews."
FACT: This is an outright lie. A Zionist counter-protestor, waving an Israeli flag, chanted "kill the Jews" as a "provocative joke." He was quickly booed and shouted down by pro-Palestine protestors, who retorted with their own slogans and requested that he leave. The counter protestor was subsequently escorted off of campus. However, various mainstream media sources blindly reported that it was pro-Palestine protestors who chanted "kill the Jews", and Northeastern University used this lie as a pretext to call in police to break up the encampment and arrest around a hundred student protestors. (LinkSource 1, LinkSource 2)

MYTH: We should ban both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protests on college campuses, in order to keep campus environments calm and safe.
FACT: As iterated before, campus protests have not, by and large, been violent or anti-semitic/hateful. However, this sentiment is a surprisingly popular one among the American populace, with around 47% calling for banning pro-Palestine protests and 41% calling for banning pro-Israel protests. (LinkSource). This is a violation of free speech, which many of those bashing pro-Palestine protests claim to profess as a core value.

MYTH: Many protestors, such as the ones at Columbia, are storming and occupying buildings, which is violent. This shows that these protests aren't legitimate peaceable assembly.
FACT: Yes, many protestors have occupied buildings as part of their protest. However, occupying buildings is a tradition of many college student movements, and little to no violence is generally committed by protestors as part of these occupations. Many of those who object to the pro-Palestine protests often claim that occupying buildings, blocking roads etc are all "violent" or "too confrontational." It seems that their idea of an effective protest is politely requesting that those in power stop funding and supporting a genocide.

MYTH: Most of the campus protestors are 'outside agitators,' not students of the respective universities. Alternatively, student protestors are being paid to protest.
FACT: The myth of the 'outside agitator' or the conspiracy theory of 'paid protestors' funded by dark money is a common refrain in many anti-Palestine, conservative circles, especially as the former has been what many police departments have espoused to try and de-legitimize the protests. The mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, also repeated this myth of 'outside agitators' infiltrating protests, using it to justify the decision to send in police to suppress the protests. Many mainstream media sources have blindly followed and reported this myth, without sufficient skepticism, though others have done more to question these myths. Neither of these myths are new, however, and both serve to try and imply that the people participating in these protests are not community members with genuine concerns and issues, but rather were paid or otherwise had ulterior motives for protesting - and this myth has been used to de-legitimize protests as diverse as the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War protests. There is no evidence of 'outside agitators' or 'paid protestors' playing a role in the student intifada, which is made up of student-led grassroots efforts based on a moral obligation to address the complicity of universities in the genocide of Palestinians. The CBC conducted Linkmore thorough fact-checking of these claims and found no evidence to support them.

MYTH: The tents used in the encampments are all the same. This suggests that an outside conspiracy is afoot, as in, someone is buying the protestors all these tents in bulk. (Tent theory)
FACT: The reason why the models of many of the tents are the same is not because of secret organizing by some conspiracy, but because these tent models were the cheapest the protestors could find, bought from stores like Walmart and Costco. The student protestors aren't part of some grand conspiracy - they're just broke. This is one of the more ludicrous conspiracy theories that have been spread about the student protestors, but that didn't stop NYC mayor Eric Adams from spouting this nonsense at a press conference. The CBC refutes "tent theory" in detail Linkhere, as does Wired over Linkhere.

USA Today has also tackled some of the more blatant dis- and misinformation about the student protests Linkhere.

Given the gravity of the situation in Palestine right now, the fact that the Palestinians are facing an actual genocide, for me a special volume on Palestine felt right - especially given the complexity of the Israeli-Palestinian 'conflict' and just how long Israel's settler-colonialism and oppression of the Palestinians has gone on. I especially wanted to counter the utterly atrocious media coverage that our consent-manufacturing news media has given this situation, the amount of apologia, falsehoods and lies they've put out regarding Palestine - I wanted to correct the record and lay out the facts.

American Soviet Confederation wrote:Hi y'all - I recently finished a major expansion to the Leftist Library. It's a bit of a unique one, in that I added a new volume - a special volume, dedicated to one specific topic.

Given the gravity of the situation in Palestine right now, the fact that the Palestinians are facing an actual god forbid genocide, for me a special volume on Palestine felt right - especially given the complexity of the Israeli-Palestinian 'conflict' and just how long Israel's settler-colonialism and oppression of the Palestinians has gone on. I especially wanted to counter the utterly atrocious media coverage that our consent-manufacturing news media has given this situation, the amount of apologia, falsehoods and lies they've put out regarding Palestine - I wanted to correct the record and lay out the facts.

Free Palestine!

Alright you whippersnappers. Forget all the bad qualities and the good ones. Best flag to ever dawn the earth? It could be anything, from Pocatello to Idaho. And so, I have come to conclusion, Rosy Red is the bestest of flags

Celebrate this. You are going to somehow blunder it in weeks time.

I am an ethnic Chinese from Malaysia and a Buddhist- Taoist. Why are you so interested in Taoism? Please don’t be those ‘spiritual awakening’ people. It is fine if you want to learn more but don’t be those people who just do it for fun and learn nothing from it. I can talk more about the different deities if you want

Nope, no spiritual awakenings here. More different culture fascination and interest in different spiritual philosophies. Just so happened that I made this nation while I was reading the Tao Te Ching and thought it would be cool. That's all.
