Yeah. I always get annoyed when I hear people on forums give advice that you need to use capitalism to get a good economy on NS. You don't have to, and its possible to not do it if you choose your options carefully.

Risastorstein

I would voluntarily have the worst economy if it meant I had socialism in this game. It would just go to show inherent biases anyway

Morvan wrote:I would voluntarily have the worst economy if it meant I had socialism in this game. It would just go to show inherent biases anyway

True, but if you answer issue options a certain way you don't have to.

Of course, but still.

Alright, after reviewing the votes I'd like to ask those who voted to confirm their votes if they have not already done so. Out of 19 votes cast, only 14 were confirmed. To confirm your vote, please telegram the founder account that you have cast your vote. If you already confirmed your vote, don't worry about this message.

Sorry for the delays with results so far, but various technical difficulties and this confirmation issue have prevented us from determining final counts. We should be able to present the final tally within 8 hours.

Someone should write an absurdist play entitled 'Waiting for Miruva' (and I'm totally waiting to see how many people get that joke.)

If he takes too long, I have carrots.

This is going to look very odd if your weren't making the reference I thought you were making.

Ah, good. That's literally the only thing I learned about while dating a literature student that has ever come up since.

I say "learned". I wasn't trying to, but y'know.

Did lots of Drama in high school. Still do voice-overs occasionally because I don't have time for proper acting. Had to learn all that stuff:)

Comrades! I am very happy to announce the results of the 2018 March General Elections! Of all Senators, only one candidate, Buddha Maitreya, was knocked out of the Senate race, meaning we don't need a by-election.

The number of votes received after all the quotas and Maths that makes my head hurt (never give AnPrimus the Election counter job, if my brain fuzzies at the math, imagine how his would go...), is as follows. After the quota was reached (which was 2, in this case).

Round 1:
Buddha: 0
Halfblakistan: 3
Hecknamistan: 1
Llorens: 4
Morvan: 0
New Arkados: 2
Nottinhaps: 2
Vegemiteisgross: 4

In round 2:
Buddha: 1
Halfblakistan: 2
Hecknamistan: 3
Llorens: 2
Morvan: 2
New Arkados: 2
Nottinhaps: 2
Vegemiteisgross: 2

Which means our Senators are as follows.
Llorens
Halfblakistan
Hecknamistan
Vegemiteisgross
Nottinhaps
New Arkados
Morvan

Myself and Kavagrad won our Confidence Vote for the joint ticket of Secretary and Prime Minister, to the tune of 13-3. So I am now the elected Secretary and Comrade Kavagrad the elected Prime Minister.

As our first order of business, I ask all members to immediately begin unendorsing the outgoing Secretary South Miruva and begin endorsing myself so we can begin normal business as soon as possible.

Congratulations to all candidates, I will be telegramming details of a Discord or Skype meeting room to you all shortly. It'll probably be Discord but if anybody has issues with that, let me know. I look forward to working with all those elected in the 9th General Assembly!

Oh, nearly forgot! The head-to-head votes with 'Seek other candidate' for each of the Senator candidates were as follows:

Buddha Maitreya: 11-5
Halfblakistan: 13-3
Hecknamistan: 13-3
Llorens: 15-1
Morvan: 10-6
New Arkados: 15-1
Nottinhaps: 15-1
VegemiteIsGross: 12-4

Of course, that means all went to the ranked vote as previously announced. While there were only 16 validated votes by the end, we now finally have our 9th General Assembly!

Llorens

Comrades, I'd like to thank you for electing me as one of your Senators of the 9th General Assembly. I promise to stay true to my platform and push for as many of my proposed bills as possible, though it might be hard to get through all of them due to their sheer number! Also, to reiterate my recent regional telegram, please unendorse South Miruva and endorse Cedoria to allow for the swift transition of the Delegacy.

In other news, the whole NSWiki factbook has been updated, most notably the March 2018 election page, which, as like past elections, will serve as a permanent record of the results. You can find that here:

https://nsindex.net/wiki/The_Leftist_Assembly_election,_March_2018

In relation to the website, it received 46 'unique visitors' during the election period, which is fairly good! As well as updating it to match the new government, I have also completely redone the TRS page to allow for colour-coded, easily-accessible, and quickly-loading tabs to all of the TRS articles (both the discontinued magazine version and for the rest, the dispatch links). Hope you like it:

Comrades,

On behalf of The Democratic Socialist Assembly I would like to congratulate those elected to the offices of Secretary, Prime Minister and Senator.

Thank you comrades for voting me in as your senator! I hope my first term will prove to you all that you made the right choice. <3

Halfblakistan, Llorens, and South Miruva

Firstly I would like to thank all comrades for participating in our elections and making our democratic process stronger. Secondly, I encourage all WA nations to vote FOR in Security Council Resolution Liberate Kaiserreich as it will be a blow to all Fascist and Nazi regions.

Llorens, South Miruva, and Hecknamistan

Sorry for the delay guys. I'm looking after my little cousin today so my explanation will have to be delayed till tomorrow. Once again, my apologies.

Take whatever time you need, Comrade. Don't worry about it.

Hecknamistan

If you haven't unendorsed South Miruva and endorsed Cedoria yet, I would highly suggest you do.

Also thank you all for keeping me in government, I look forwards to maintaining the status quo for our beautiful region.

Thank you for pre-empting what I was going to ask:) All who are interested should vote for Liberate Kaiserreich, to strike a blow for freedom, justice and solidarity against the monstrosities of Fascism.

Once I am formally sworn in, I will be announcing on behalf of myself and Kavagrad our Justice nominations, as well as Ministerial appointments. We hope to be able to have a good selection of Ministers right off the bat in this term, so keep an eye out for those.
