What did I miss? Aside from nuclear apocalypse.

CoTA showed how N-Day can be broken.

Quazian Nations wrote:This was my first N-Day, I didn't participate in it but honestly I thought it was quite an interesting event...Tho it definitely seems like a lot of people would disagree with "interesting"

That's because there wasn't really any competition this year. Two monolithic factions stood out, with no equal to fight against.

Last year was far more competitive, and therefore more fun. There was about six or seven major factions, none particularly more powerful than the others. So it was total chaos, and nobody could have guessed what the outcome would be.

It showed that a huge number of nations on one team can crush everyone if there isn't a large enough team to oppose them and they are even slightly organized. It also showed an interesting exploit where a group of nations could join the winning team and stock up on nukes before breaking off and earning a bunch of points on their own.

The event probably needs some reworking.

Does your nation have weapons of mass destruction, and if so, what kind?

We have multiple kinds of weapons of mass destruction. We have several classic nuclear devices at varying states of readiness and sizes. Our standard weapons of mass destruction however consist of several antimatter and neutron missiles that contain concentrated star matter.

It is a potentially useful technology that has been outpaced by advances in other technologies pursued by the Dragonian Alliance.

Any life-extending procedures are seen as supremacist attempts, regardless of species. Organs are harvested upon the demise of anyone and anyone that tries to preserve any useful organs are considered criminals

Sure, why not?

Officially, there isn't one. We don't regulate that kind of thing here.

However, the McDeath Cult maintains that mortality is a sin. So this has led some to argue that cryonic preservation is the only acceptable form of death rite. Others hold that it doesn't make you immortal, it just delays your judgement by Ronald (glory to his name). In that case it could be seen as a sinful attempt to deny him his rightful place as judge of our worth and thus should be frowned upon at the very least.

We'll have to see how the debate goes, but the Fraglord has thus far seen fit to keep her counsel on the matter so we don't have a definitive answer from the church.

As a nation who's singular purpose is to reach the technological singularity, why just use it to store samples if you can store entire people like that? Our AI citizens can just be put into a new body and we can eventually immortalize the best scientists of our nation.

It also has mayor advantages for our space program in long range stellar expeditions, maybe even in interstellar expeditions eventually.

Still undecided.

There was a big fad a while back where people stored their dead relatives in their freezers. That ended after a major power station failed leading to a week long blackout.

Yeah, that fad was never gonna last anyway.

"Dad, where's the chocolate ice-cream?"
"Under grandad's butt."

"Are those fish fingers?"

"No - I said get the naan out the freezer, not your nan!"

"Do we have frozen weiners?"
"Yes. Next to the bags of frozen peas."

We're still getting used to ice. Electric refrigerators are legal, but viewed with suspicion.

idk about very tall but i've been meaning to try out Snowdon again for a while, i'm pretty close to it + I feel slighted by how my parents forced us to go back down halfway to the summit cus of failing light last time

Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

No. The risk of death is too high and the amount of trash on the popular tall mountains is disheartening.
