War is Over
The power grid of the United Kingdom has finally been restored by noon today after a truce was made with the Serpentuem state. All flights and shipments to the United Kingdom will resume later today after a year-long war. Refugees are encouraged to return home.

The once desert wasteland Hinomoto prefecture could be seen by satellite filled with unregistered plantation. A 2.6km in height mysterious spiral structured 'tree' is believed to be the source of such biological anomaly. Serpentuem forces who were at there when the anomaly occurred were mysteriously cured of the teardrop plague. The two governments stated they will be working on a joint research project on the pollen that were emitted from the flower of the spiral tree. Hoping to cure the plague and restore relation between the two states after the war.

The university district of the former Greater Edokyuuria Area, Akademie Stadt-II will be serving as the governing region of the Edokyuuria lake until the remains of the Senate Terminal ongoing modification to an arcology is finished.

The number of causalities in both the Valrassari conflict and Serpentuem war combined is still being count, experts suggested it will not be less than 19 million.
Numbers of refugees were shocked when they discovered the massive craters made during the Valrassari conflict.

Stressful Restoration
Just as communication were restored the Mashiro Administration finds the rest of the United Kingdom is in chaos, especially Kjanu. The administration will be having a press conference tomorrow on the plans of restoring the United Kingdom as a whole, not just the twin kingdoms.

"Has the SDL government been able to find a suitable coalition partner to run the government at this point?" questioned Yteya Bredislin of the MS, hear voice seeped full of mock innocence. Her counterpart, Marastein Søkliov, slowly raised his head from the desk in front of him and begrudgingly croaked out the same response for almost a month now: "No".
Despite the SDL's landmark first election win in over 50 years; the other right-leaning parties had not seen nearly enough support, and with all the left-leaning parties refusing to cooperate, the future seemed bleak for the SDL government - time was running out before they'd either have to rule as a minority government or call another snap election, and neither option looked particularly enticing.
"It would appear time is running short for you Søkliov, how unfortunate"
"Look, you're not clever because you can take the piss alright?"
Despite his attempt at a clever comeback, Maratein's face was completely distraught. This kind of ceaseless back-and-forth between the leaders of the two largest parties was all that had been happening in the Senate for the past month; and it would appear the Yteya was ultimately going to get her way in the end. To make her next move more impactful, the unusually tall woman rose to her full height, pointed to her counterpart across the room and glared daggers at him.
"Face it, boy: you're out of options - your party's out of options: you've lost"
"..."
"So the silent treatment it is then? Ha! Have it your way"
"..."
"Oh don't look so dreary: I've got something that could save you"
"Pft, hilarious; pinnacle of comedy you are"
"No no no. nothing funny going on here: hear this out:"
Every member of the Senate now sat on edge to hear what this proposal would be: nothing had happened for almost a month so anything to break the deadlock would attract attention
"My party will form a coalition with your's; if, and only if; you step down as head of the party"
To this there was outcry and for the next half an hour it would seem utter chaos had taken control of the entire room: the unruly nature still hadn't died down when the senatorial meeting was dismissed at 10 o'clock in the evening....

The next day - at a café in Prestivgestov, two women sat at tables outside: one was the same as before, the other was much shorter and had her blonde hair arranged in a pony tail.
"So glad you could come home for a bit, sis; you know only having Meikliov and Rioeste for company gets tiresome - I mean I don't dislike them at all, but, you know, change is nice yeah?"
"I swear Freya; you know I don't want to be called 'sis', especially in public, ugh..."
"Hehehe, alright sis"
"Sigh, it is good to be back though; so much calmer than Trondelang here - plus the coffee's way better"
"Oh you can say that again, I tell yo-"
The conversation was abruptly interrupted by a sudden intrusion by a man wearing far too little clothing than would be appropriate in the weather - his red cheeks juxtaposed his almost unbelievably pale face which had what could be described as a nest made of twigs resting on top of it
"Y..tey...a"
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?"
"He'll... do it..."
"Who's he?"
"What'll he do? Have a chair and take a breath man, you're literally unintelligible right now"
"Thanks... but yeah, Marastein's going to step down"
"You really had to wait a whole month to make that move, didn't you Yteya?"
"You had this planned for a month?"
Shrugging "It was a 6D chess move. Who are you, by the way?"
"Troussel Donnalbain; I'm running for next head of the SDL."
"Oh, well I might be seeing you later then, hm?"
"Doubt I've got much chance of winning; thanks for the confidence though"
Despite the elation at the win over her rival, Yteya the made a realisation that hampered the moment significantly.
"Oh no..."
"What is it sis?"
"Sis?"
"Oh for fu- never mind that... I have to get the train back to Trondelang tomorrow because of this; damnit"
"Oooh yeah, tough luck"

The dull buzzing of the Monliu Grasshopper blanketed the golden plains as the sky turned into a yellow sea. Grass swayed lazily with the wind, forming waves of soft golden wheat. Birds flew overhead in a tight formation, their black underbelly contrasting with the light grey clouds. Sunbeams scattered through the clouds in a kaleidoscope of light.

In these golden hills of the Monliu Steepes a group of volunteers from Kirchenstaudt walked aimlessly. Their plain caravan a slow fish traveling in an endless sea. The Trans-Wasaruan Railway had been destroyed past the city of Obama and as such the relief package had to be delivered by hand to Monliu proper. The plucky group was mostly made up by young Verleschdian workers and robotic assistants, while three Kjanuan administrators, an old man and two women, tagged along when the train home was stopped.

The travelers had used a more mobile machine to carry the goods the majority of the journey, but as the flat plains transitioned to rolling hills the robot was abandoned and told to return to Obama. They rarely talked as they walked through the golden seas, towards where the last destination was said to be. As night fell, one of the Kjanuans broke the silence. “No smoke, that’s a good sign.” The old man said to no one in particular.
“Why’s that?” One of the younger Verleschdiean volunteers asked, his voice was flat and his pale, angular face tired.
“Back in ‘03 when the north fell into chaos there was smoke in the air from the burning cities,” the old Kjanuan said, “we could see it down in Modagami. No smoke this close means Monliu is being kept safe.”
A rabbit-faced man with a freckled face commented “I watched that on TV, it’s much worse than anything we have going on now. President Karugama is working hard to protect us.”
“Oh Elias,” one of the Kjanuan advisors yelled back from behind the group, “You have no idea how bad this is, word has it Jezabelstien has this as the end of Kjanu, nothing of this scale has happened before.”
The rabbit-faced man retorted quickly “And I’m sure Kjanu would say the same about a protest in Jezabelstien, it’s all propaganda from them.”
“Shut up you two, keep your bickering to yo ur selves.” The old man said as he turned around at the younger members of the group. “Besides, we are almost there.”

An hour later, long after sunset, they saw the outline of the city. The imposing cluster of skyscrapers pierced the night sky’s bright stars as a black curtain. As they walked down the hill and through the blanket of grass the lack of light from the city became more apparent. “Shouldn’t it have more lights on? It can’t be that late.” Said a volunteer, her voice exhausted.
“Of course not, they are all sleeping, like we could’ve been if not for your slow pace Albert!” Another responded, half jokingly. A murmur of laughs and conversation began and ended quickly when an the Kjanuan woman spoke up “Powers cut, probably protests in the bunkers.”

After that point no one talked, and a large storm rolled in, drenching the fields with bullets of rain. The team began to walk at a faster pace until they arrived in the city about an hour later.

When the volunteers reached the outskirts of the city an unpleasant smell permeated through the air. They reached a boulevard through the wall of skyscrapers that formed the boundary of the city, only to find it barricaded by construction blockades.

“What’s the meaning of this?” The man with the angular face whined.
“They obviously don’t want people in Peter.” The old Kjanuan woman responded. “We will set up camp here and wait until someone lets us in.”

A few mumbled in agreement, too exhausted to put up a fight, and unpacked a small campsite outside the city. Most of the group fell asleep within seconds, but well into the night discussion could be heard from the tent of the Kjanuan officials. A group of volunteers pretended to be preparing for bed, watching the shadows move through the tent.
“They’ve never done this before, normally they would make up a story about a warlord or something. This time they’ve said nothing.”
“Suzuki sent word that the Council was publishing some story of protests like they did with Etsuyoki. It probably didn’t reach us in Kirchenstaudt whatever happened here didn’t in the east.”
“What are they going to do, claim a typhoon hit the middle of Wasaru? You know they’ve lost control, not just here but the whole state. We need to get to the bunker and out of here, we should’ve gone down in Obama!”
The argument grew more intense, but the storm raged and the rain pounded loud enough to muffle the shouting.
The volunteers retreated to their tents and discussed what they had overheard before sleeping themselves.

When the sun rose it was behind a grey layer of clouds which rained on the muddy landscape. A siren pierced the silent morning and the volunteers woke up and scurried outside.

A large sphere of deep grey metal on four legs stood in front of the campsite. A black hexagon appeared on the front of the droid, a single red circle in the center.
Chen Jun, you are requested. Please stand forward.
For a second no one moved, the droid began to repeat its message when the old Kjanuan administrator stepped forward.
“I am here.”
The droid was silent for five seconds.
Takaichi Yuriko, you are requested. Please step forward.
The younger Kjanuan woman stepped forward
Everyone else has not been requested.
“No, no you can’t do this” The remaining Kjanuan administrator pleaded. She ran up to the sphere and kneeled in front of it. “I’ve been loyal, I never told them anything, I’ve always done what the council wanted, what we decided! Please!” Her rambling became incoherent through her tears, she slammed her palm into the droid.
The droid was silent, then spoke.
Everyone else has not been requested.
The droid’s red eye spun rapidly around the hexagon. The Kjanuan woman screamed A secondary hexagon opened above its head and a single chain gun peered out. The volunteers began to turn, some had already ran away. It fired rapidly at the encampment, avoiding the two it had requested, until the clip ran out. For a ephemeral eternity nothing moved, the Kjanuan man stood looking blankly forward as he fought back tears, the woman had shut her eyes.
Thank you for your compliance. You are requested to travel to Revolution Square, Shen Block, Floor 16.

The droid’s red eye disappeared and it walked over the dead bodies, collecting samples of the DNA. The two Kjanuans looked at each other and then walked into Monliu. The grand skyscrapers of the city were draped in the flags of the old Monikau nations, ripped and riddled with bullet holes. The Kjanuans walked into the shell of a city, through the towering mausoleums, and towards the government.

Evacuation

Aboard the NDR Iðunnsepli, south of Gravitum Island

"Welcome aboard, captain," said Røvaldsdottir jokingly, while extending a hand to assist Jerimah up the final steps of the ladder. "You're far from home, aren't you?"

He cracked a smile and gave a small nod in response, before hauling his bag up from the dinghy. "Yeah... Routine transfer from Arrogan to Judgement base," he said. "The Ras conflict is scaling down, y'know."

Without reason to doubt him, she accepted the answer and led him to the bridge to continue their conversation as the ship moved to a safe distance away from the ticking bomb Jerimah was just evacuated from.

As Captain Jerimah explains how he ordered his crew to abandon ship to give them a better chance at survival, Captian Røvaldsdottir's expression turned stern but understanding. Jerimah is a charismatic man, but even he became more and more nervous as the conversation went on, in fear of fumbling his cover story. Of course, Røvaldsdottir had no way of knowing, and simply assumed the man in front of her was shaken from the near-death experience he just escaped. That is, until he made a mistake.

"I thought you said you were on your way to Judgement base?"
That sentence alone was enough to make him sweat. He knew once he made a mistake, the story could quickly fall apart at the seams.
"Y-Yes. That's what I meant, of course. I'm... Yes."
The following few seconds of silence felt like an eternity. But he was saved by the bell, so to speak. Or rather, the huge explosion some hundred meters away, as the ship he had called home for weeks met its fate.

Both Captain Røvaldsdottir and now formerly-captain Jerimah stepped to the window to witness the destruction.
"We'll head for the NDR Tordenskjold, they have a helipad," she said after a - surprisingly - less uncomfortable silence. "They can send you to the mainland, where you can be sent back home."
She wandered off to the cupboard to fetch two cups she then filled with coffee, and handed one to Jerimah. "Until then, make yourself at home."

RP: It Appears to be a House of Cards

Not even a full month from the start of a Federal Police investigation into the Temple Police Force, the FP has released new and startling information that numerous active duty officers had been engaging in racist text messaging groups.

Temple Mayor Elect Jason Brown stated,
Good evening, as the Mayor of Temple, I am here to run our police department, not a frat horse. Today, continues to be a day where I have to share disturbing information with you. First, we want to announce that we are close to ending an investigation of racist text messages. We do think it is relevant to share that we do know the messages were sent by active AusValian officers. They are inappropriate and not acceptable from anyone who wears the badge. Also today, acting Police Commissioner, Ben Pharos has officially resigned. This matter is not related to these texts, and it is also not related to the misconduct scandal."

Today, President Williams, visibly upset by the continuing scandal, stated today that he will not be appointing an acting Police Commissioner at this time. Instead, he has signed an executive order giving command of local police to the Federal Police for 60 days, before an extension of time would need Legislative approval.

In a statement he said,
"I feel this is an appropriate time to place federal oversight of our police department and to send a very clear message about how serious we are of not tolerating misconduct, unethical behavior, and to root out what is clearly a toxic culture. I want to ensure the citizens of Temple and the nation that we are hellbent on rooting out this disgusting culture and holding those accountable responsible for their misdeeds. This environment is not unique to AusValia, and it is not unique to policing, but it will be stopped, nonetheless"

The entire policing system, to many, is starting to feel like a house of cards. This has led to numerous protests across the City today as thousands of people blocked traffic on highways and main streets near the Capitol.

One activist stated,
"How can we stay silent, how can we stay in our homes? They were not honest when they talked about values. They covered up corruption. We will no longer go along with your lies, and we are going to pull this system down through the power of nonviolent direct action."

In line with a recent push for the JS to lower military costs & begin to produce weaponry on a greater scale. The DoD has announced the Switch Back Plan in which it is stated that the Obregon Pistol will be slowly incorporated to the Armed Forces in place of the 1911 which will be slowly phased out. Although many economic experts have pointed to the higher production costs of the Obregon Pistol as a significant reason as to why the Pistol was not mass produced, sources within the DoD believe that with incoming foreign investment. The capital may finally exist to allow the JS to undergo this change to it's Armed Forces. Yet another move from the NFM which has proven popular, as weapon enthusiasts hail the Nationalistic move. Hailing it as one step closer to National Autonomy & true independence from foreign influences.

JNV Wrathfire
Klaxons flared and panels flashed within the abandoned interior of the warship, the shrill alarm carrying for hundreds of meters about the vessel as it neared its final moments... within its belly a runaway criticality began to melt through the reactor's casing, fuel rods weeping as they began to melt in the immense heat.
When the rewired thermocouples finally fired the control rods were solidly molded in place, with all else failing, the emergency SCRAM initiated, turbo-pumps roared to life as they drew in thousands of liters of seawater into the reactor...
The sides of the warship blew out in a scattering of hot metal and steam, the rupture spilling molten uranium and boiling mercury into the sea as the rest of the vessel quickly capsized and vanished, leaving only debris, bubbling water and a growing cloud of oil.

NDS Starfish, North-East of the North Electrica Coast
Little seemed amiss on the wayward vessel, it kept to shipping lanes on its lazy southbound voyage, but the zealots kept to their mission, converting the marine labs and maintenance shops as they cut through bulkheads and ravaged the interior.
By the time the vessel entered the northern meridian sea it was a haphazard fortress wearing the facade of the research vessel, with its target ahead and little to lose, the acting captain ordered a flanking charge towards the Meridian commonwealth space elevator.

Merkerburg

A Brief History Of Merkerburg

The first documented appearance of proto-Sorbopomeranian tribes come from the Kkhanose Empire. in which they Remarked: "These peoples are brutal savages who will stop at nothing to raid and pillage our countryside"

after its collapse, The tribes were divided Between Jezabelstein and Scarast and small revolts soon followed. though they were crushed immediately.
on January 14th, 1930 an independence declaration was drafted, and rebel brigades were trained.
and on January 18th, 1930 the country declared its independence and war soon followed with both Scarast and Jezabelstein.
and with a year-long war. the two states negotiated a treaty. and so with the treaty of Hertogral (todays Herzogratt)
the country became fully independent in 12. 2. 1931. Though the Agreement had given Westsorbian and more lands belonging to many different ethnic minorities, to a mostly Eastsorb country, though that was dismissed a "Union" for protection of those said ethnic groups(they most likely didn't want to deal with them, so they gave them to this fairly unstable nation.) though, seeds were planted for future conflict.

And the country was a republic for a time. until a coup from Iwan Xariow who had been a wealthy aristocrat, had deposed the government and he appointed loyal subjects in positions of power. He Rewrote the constitution and declared Himself The Herzog (Duke) of Merkerburg And his reign was just an effort to consolidate power for him and his heir. But after his death, his Heir Iörgiy I was inclined to allow elections, but only for the most privileged and powerful. and his heirs kept up this liberalization until everyone was allowed to vote, and political parties started forming. but each time some far-left party got immense amounts of votes. The party was declared illegal, and this process was the same for any anti-monarchy party.

The nation is ripe for conflict. ethnic groups vying for more power, and the monarchy has cracks forming inside.
Time will tell how long this nation will last. But an immense change is inevitable.

Reforms and Reconstruction

New Electri, Council Chamber

After the end of the Crisis that took place in the latter half of the last decade, the Electran Council has come out with an announcement to discuss their planned future for the nation with a long list of reforms and multiple orders to different branches of administration. However this was shut down by many people that took their time to expressed their anger towards the Council with their silence during recent events, and also a demand on the location of the Head Councilor.

Just as when the leading council member was going to speak, Head Councilor Stargazer entered the room, despite being in a wheelchair he still had a smile on his face.

HC Stargazer: "Sorry to keep you all waiting, had to finish up some paperwork from the hospital." He Rolled pass the leading council member, patting his shoulder. "Thanks for warming them up for me Yuri." He says jokingly, the man in question looked at the Head Councilor in anger in frustration but stuffed it down and sat in his seat. Stargazer rolled to the HC desk and read through the different papers . After a few minutes his smile was replaced with a serious look. "Alright let's get down to business. during my absence I looked over current and old Electran laws, specifically concerning some parts of our justice system. I am calling for a complete remake of the system! This caused murmurs in the chamber and some outburst. "The system is corrupt and lazy, we allowed as complete underground crime network set up within our nation and freely smuggle items in and out of our nation. So many people were sent to jail for something they didn't do, judges get payed off to let criminals and murderers escape from being sent to where they belong. It's time for change. He pauses, taking a breath before continuing. "We will conduct a thorough search of all files, hard copy and digital, any transactions for the past few years and also all court cases from the past 3 decades. After we have rooted out whatever we can, we will assign temporary governmental judges throughout the nation until newly trained and trustworthy judges can be found. Police numbers and surveillance shall increase, and the initiating plan Overwatch. The deployment of drones that will observe every corner of the country but not intrude on the privacy of people. Sentinel's are now to be recalled back to their bases and kept into reserve, and put under the control of the military.

The entire room stares at the Head Councilor, trying to process what he was saying. Until one of the lead councilman spoke out.

LC: "This is outrageous, or nation is supposed to represent freedom and peace. Your planning on turning it into a surveillance state! The people will not take lightly to such an outra-." He was stopped mid sentenceHC as Stargazer spoke.

HC Stargazer: "Silence! We tried this, we tried keeping the peace for so long. But you can't give out supreme freedom and expect everything to be all perfect like a fairy tale! A serial killer managed to kill multiple people throughout the entire nation, which in turn caused heightened police presence, and with that we found a criminal underground, which resulted in an entire war between us and the different criminal organizations. And with our focus drifted away, we allowed an entire region be cut off from the rest of the world, and let a terrorist group reign free! I am sorry to say but old time of peace is over, and to secure the safety of our people, we must take some measures that some will not agree with. There was a tense silence in the air, multiple council members even looked angry at the Head Councilor, but none dared to speak a word. "Now! a show of hands for vote.' Multiple hands raised for both sides, but YES managed to win by 5 votes.

Council Speaker: "Listed items shall go into effect immediately. All police forces are to be given a Month long leave while Military Police substitute, and the now citizen made holiday shall be put through vote at a later date to be made official. HAve a good evening everyone. MEETING ADJOURNED! With the slam of a gavel the meeting ended. This will be one of many government event's that will shape the future of the nation.

National News

Usual tune plays with the animation.

Briggs: "Hello I am Brandon Briggs."

Spades: "And I'm Samuel Spades."

Briggs: "A calm has finally settled here in North Electrica after the long and brutal fight between our brave police force and the large criminal underground has ended. Many people are celebrating or already helping in cleanup of damaged area of cities, and Aid forces have begun the search for anyone in need of help. We actually have someone on the scene, switching over to you Faleisha. It switches from some video feed from different cities and other areas that was damaged by the battles, civilians, workers, and soldiers walk through the damaged streets and ruble,, doing their best to find people and clean up the area. It shows a female synthetic with red hair and tanned skin.

Faleisha: "Right now we are walking through the damaged areas of New Grelite, as you can see this was one of the areas where the more dangerous criminals where based. Yet despite this the people seems pretty resilient. Right here we have 117 here who was willing to say a few things."

117: "Yeah i would just like to say some things. Everything that has happened for the past few months has hit us hard, many children have been effected, double lives have been uncovered, and everyone is just uncertain. WHoever you are, in any situation, if you need help or feeling down. Just know you are not alone in this situation, everyone is going through hard times, and if we just stick together and stay strong. We can get through this!"

Faleshia: "Those where some great words right there thank you. I'm sure a lot of people are going to feel better. We should all be determined that things will get better after this." There was murmurs of agreement before she turned back to the camera. " As you can see the people here are resilient and optimistic, hopefully this last. Back to you HQ."

Spades: "In other news. A ceremony is being planned by the families of the deceased police from recent event's, there is to be a speech from family members and also a march to a new graveyard, which has been purchased by the Hammer family, who lost their daughter in the fighting, to honor the dead and their sacrifice.

Briggs: "My condolences to families. Such a tragedy that has happened in out nation."

Spades: "If only we realized the threat before hand, things would have not gotten this out of hand." There was a moment of silence before Spades bagan to speak. "In other news, a recent announcement has been made by the council and a new legislation has been passed. Increased police presence, recalling of Sentinels, and also the deploying of security drones. This has been received with mixed feeling and is already a source of debate over social media, and it's only a matter of time before this expands into the real world.

Briggs: "And also the entire justice system is being cleaned out and rebuilt. This may put many in a vulnerable state in case of future crimes or false crimes, but the government has assured us that this will be completed soon."

Spades; "This was Electran NAtional News with Brandon briggs and Samuel Spades, have a nice evening everyone.

"Maybe if I asked for aid from my allies we could create a colony together, but where." Well, no time like the present" He calls a messanger "Send a message to the international community asking for aid in this project." The messenger replies "At once my lord"

The message reads:

Attention nations of Northern Utopia. The Kingdom of Iarthar has a dream to create a colony on the moon of the nearest gas giant, however, we don't have the resources or the knowhow to do it. Response to call.

NESDEC is very interested in this idea, thinking it is a very ambitious project that can most definitely be accomplished. And if you wish, the Helios Coalition will welcome The Kingdom of Iarthar has a member, even if they wish it to be temporary, this will give your nation Financial backing, engineering and research support, and a large number of materials that will most definitely help in this quest.

We shall await a response.

Merkerburg's Offer

The Government is requesting That any country on the continent of Dissopoloforia will lease a port for 20 years, in exhange for raw materials such as coal and iron. we'd also be willing to accept technology whether it'd be millitary or industrial.

The Commonwealth's Directorate of Foreign Affairs would like you to know that the inner 14 moons of Aurora are under Commonwealth claim. Many of them are supplying our various cis-Auroran settlements, or otherwise offer considerable scientific interest to us. In particular, two of the largest four moons could potentially be home to life forms. Until we have an opportunity to verify their existence, and perform detailed studies, we request that you attempt no landings there.
In the meanwhile, our space colonies would be more than happy to accept any prospective colonists!

Town Hall, Shiraz
Directorial Election - Day 9

Today, the directorial campaign tour took the team to the city of Shiraz, one of the more inland cities in the Commonwealth. Unlike Progress, it was built above-ground, being built well before the underground cavern city design became the standard. Housing only a few million people, the city was hardly the biggest in the Commonwealth, but it housed its fair share of people.
Many of the other candidates weren't going to be attending this debate. John Blair had dropped out of the running already (at only three days, even), saying that Commonwealth politics were "too toxic" or something. Most of the independents were off in smaller cities, looking to build their base up from smaller places - not the best strategy, but points for trying. Sadegh Ahmad, the dedicated man of Allah that he was, preferred a different way of interfacing the community, so he was going to spend the next few days holding prayer sessions in some of Shiraz's historic mosques, meeting the people, learning about them... Anahita always appreciated him. Despite being on opposite sides of the debate, there was something of a friendliness between them, of kindred souls. Sometimes she was tempted to bring him on as a spiritual advisor - or one, anyway.
That meant that today's debate was going to be just her and Nari. Good. Anahita loves a challenge.
"Good evening, esteemed attendees," the announcer said, their voice calm and flat. "I am pleased to introduce two of the candidates for the Directorial elections: Director-in-Chief Anahita Kirmani, incumbent, and Nari Park. Today's questions have been submitted by the residents of Shiraz. Please limit your answers to thirty seconds or less."
Anahita glanced over to her opponent, the barest hint of a smirk on her face. Nari looked away awkwardly - probably a bit creeped out by Anahita's perfect stillness. Either that, or fearing another black eye. That was probably a more reasonable assumption.
Questions flowed. The first was something nice and easy to start off with - something about improper food allotment, not accounting for a recent influx of immigration. Easy, boring stuff. A few more questions followed, until the really good stuff started.
"This question comes from Jalil Shirazi. He asks the following: 'With two alien invasions happening in roughly the space of a year, more and more people are concerned about a possible future attack, whether by a former aggressor, or a currently unknown adversary. How do you plan to protect us from a futher attack?' Ms. Park, you may answer first."
"Thank you, Jalil," Nari says, standing up from her seat and pacing across the stage. "Of course, this is an excellent question. The alien invasions that our world has endured were frightening. They proved that alien life is out there, and some of it is hostile to us. We must unite our world under one flag if we ever hope to endure on the interstellar stage. We must build up our defences, we must ensure we are ready for the next attack - because it is coming."
"Of course, my opponent is focused on imperialism." Anahita begins. "What she forgets is that, with proof of faster-than-light travel being possible, there's more than enough galaxy to share. Each nation on Utopia could lay claim to a system and construct an entire Hisham sphere, and we would occupy less than a fraction of a fraction of a percent of our galaxy's 400 billion stars. We--"

Before she could say anything else, a loud alarm sounded. The pair of Chrysanthemum guards at one of the nearby exits rushed to Anahita, grabbing her by the arm and leading her away.
"Trinity Beta is secured. Moving her to secondary location now." One of them said into her helmet mic.
"What the fuck are you doing? Can't you see I'm busy?" Anahita hissed.
"Ma'am, we have a potential security issue brewing." The other said, curtly.
"Of course we do."

The scientists quickly massed outside the heavy truck, pooling onboard as the single pistol wielding security guard fired several times at the approaching machines, high caliber small-arms fire likely doing little against the hardened metal construct, with all seemingly onboard the engine once more roared to life as the heavy vehicle drove back along the dirt path, swinging widely and crushing a newly grown tree in its rapid escape.
Soon the jungle was silent once more, distant howls of Tyrants and the fluttering wings of birds echoing through the lush overgrown canopy... the lingering chemicals and background radiation seemingly doing little against the wildlife.
A sudden surge of roaring engines shattered the serene silence, dozens of two-meter single-tread bikes swarmed through the dense treeline, dark-dressed soldiers driving them with expert grace across the muddy ground, with black-marked Croc trucks crashing through behind them with considerable less grace, most of the machines would find themselves barrelled down by the heavy trucks as dozens of armed and amoured figures poured from the side doors of the vehicles, quickly fanning out as the more unlucky machines were quickly subdued in a similar manner, bound in rough synthetic netting and dragged to a single pile as a small city of tents quickly began to form on the once quiet riverside.
By the time the sun had set, watchtowers sat scanning the dark jungle as a constant flow of vehicles too and from the new encampment wore down the formerly less-traveled path...

Neyde spears kingdom

"What do you mean you forgot it?"
Robber 1 glared knives at robber 2, wishing he could choke her
"It wasn't my fault" robber 2 sulked "robber 3 distracted me with her bloody cups of tea"
"You asked for one! Besides, you're always shifting the blame onto others"
"Am not!"
"Yes you are!" robber 3 hissed, giving robber 2 a good slap to the cheek, the clap echoed through the alleyway.

"Oeh dearie whatever was that noise?"
"Oh crap its Guinevere"
"No? That's fancy lady 5" robber 2 spat, trying to nurse her cheek
Robber 1 sighed, it had been so much easier back when the kingdom was unified, now they were stuck in some acting nerds authoritarian wet dream, and the worst part was it was only a town and a few fields.
"Oeh dearie you realllly ough to goe ouet and check that noise" fancy lady 5 shrilled from her bedroom
"Crap, we better get out of here" robber 1 began to turn away "next time you two better not mess up."
"We didn't mess up!" the two said in unison "it was you who hurried us in the first place!" robber 2 snarled, sick of her leaders bossy attitude.
"Shush it and run" robber 1 snapped "Or enby policeman 4 will get us"
"They quit last week" Robber 3 sulked, but she and her partner went with robber 1, back to their base to plot their next scheme.

King O'Brien is looking out a window at the stars. He says "How I wish my people could live among the stars. But, we just don't have the resources to do it." He strokes his beard. "Maybe if I asked for aid from my allies we could create a colony together, but where." He looks at a map of the solar system"Perhaps on one of the gas giant moons but there would need to be lots of research on them. Then comes the construction this could be very expensive Hmm... Well, no time like the present" He calls a messanger "Send a message to the international community asking for aid in this project." The messenger replies "At once my lord"

The message reads:

Corlenia's response...

"King O' Brian... As is customary for Corlenian leaders such as myself, I would like to apologise for my brashness in threatening your nation's response to our actions during the wrathfire crisis. I'll be fair, yes, we should have contacted your government for permission to move our fleet into your local area.

On the subject of space colonization, we would be more than happy to help you colonize one of the many moons of Aurora. Aridan-Jenta and Kendo-Baron hold a large sum of money held up to support a Corlenian space division, and we can provide the minerals, factories, and technology to heavily support your decision to attempt to colonize one of Aurora's moons.

In terms of logistical issues,we would need to have a base set up on a celestial body other than Northern Utopia, so it looks like this will be a three step process. First, we set up a permanant base on the moon, or use one owned by Lake perseverance. Second, we build up infrastructure needed to set up the final launch. Finally, we launch equipment and men at a select moon of Aurora, and set up the base.

Should you choose to accept, we can be a great asset in your colonization ambitions. But... Our descendents must be able to share this victory for the sentient peoples of Northern Utopia. Both yours, and those willing to help.

Truly interested,
Kaiser Omega

Dear Kaiser Omega,

The King sends his thanks for your support and we have a plan for the construction of the colony once we get there. We will send willing A.I citizens to the colony site and since they only need a power source and the necessary building materials. We could start by building a launching platform on the moon as a starting off point but hold off on sending humans until organics can inhabit it.

Sincerely,

King Jacob O'Brien

The Iartharian Space Agency respects your territorial claims. We ask if we could possibly explore and colonize any of the further planets or its moons or are they claimed as well?
