The scientists quickly massed outside the heavy truck, pooling onboard as the single pistol wielding security guard fired several times at the approaching machines, high caliber small-arms fire likely doing little against the hardened metal construct, with all seemingly onboard the engine once more roared to life as the heavy vehicle drove back along the dirt path, swinging widely and crushing a newly grown tree in its rapid escape.
Soon the jungle was silent once more, distant howls of Tyrants and the fluttering wings of birds echoing through the lush overgrown canopy... the lingering chemicals and background radiation seemingly doing little against the wildlife.
A sudden surge of roaring engines shattered the serene silence, dozens of two-meter single-tread bikes swarmed through the dense treeline, dark-dressed soldiers driving them with expert grace across the muddy ground, with black-marked Croc trucks crashing through behind them with considerable less grace, most of the machines would find themselves barrelled down by the heavy trucks as dozens of armed and amoured figures poured from the side doors of the vehicles, quickly fanning out as the more unlucky machines were quickly subdued in a similar manner, bound in rough synthetic netting and dragged to a single pile as a small city of tents quickly began to form on the once quiet riverside.
By the time the sun had set, watchtowers sat scanning the dark jungle as a constant flow of vehicles too and from the new encampment wore down the formerly less-traveled path...
