Region: The Hole To Hide In

RP: Battle of Askody Part 2

Socialist commander Privit Roosto watched as the Nationalists and their allies advanced on the eastern flank towards the artillery, which were vital to a Socialist victory. That hill would have to be protected at all costs if they were to win. But they were outnumbered. By all means, this was likely to be a bloody battle. Victory, not impossible, but improbable. Lesser in number, the victory would have to come through deception. So, he launched his attack.

Roosto divided his force into 3 groups. One group would stay in the town as a garrison, in case Nationalist forces made their way into the city. The second group would run out into the fields and turn eastward towards the enemy. Of course, this was suicidal, as they would be blasted to hell by the Blayredeshian artillery and bombers. But that was the point. With a large force plunging into the open, the enemy would waste no time trying to inflict maximum casualties. That's where the 3rd force comes in. The 3rd force would be comprised of Concordaian Guardsmen, who were likely more well trained and experienced than the Windardian Socialist soldiers. The Guardsmen, while the 2nd force sacrificed themselves, would march up the hill where the artillery lay to fight off the assault.

This attack would occur at night, so the Guardsmen would make their way to the hill undetected. It was risky, especially if the opposing force saw through the bluff. So all Roosto could do was pray to the Goddess that his plan would work. As soon as darkness fell upon the fields of Askody, the attack was sprung.
