Jon Paul James Rushed to Hospital!
While Vacationing on Mustache Island, East supple lund, The 1st West Supple Lund President, Jon Paul James was rushed to the nearest hospital after suffering a heart attack! It is expected he is to stay in the hospital or be moved to a better hospital in the ESL capital of Memeopolis. Doctors have said that the heart attack has been due for a long time due to the President's well known heavy drinking habits and his overall declining health.

I’m still doing them, no need to be sad. It’s taken a really long time because I’ve been answering these off of mobile all day and the security checks on the site make me try and send a message twice every time. It’s made me go slower than I had hoped, but I’m still providing longer answers that satisfy what the questions ask so hopefully people are okay with that even though it’s been half a day by this point.

My day has been going well, thank you for asking. It’s been a very busy day for me and it doesn’t look like I’ll be going to sleep for a few more hours even though it’s 2:35AM right now where I live. Lots of government work to be done, RolePlay posts to write, AMA questions still to answer and World Assembly proposals to draft.
Comparatively, I’d say my AMA earlier had an excellent turnout that surpassed all of my expectations. So even though I’m taking a literal eternity to get back to everyone I hope they find their answers worth the wait and it’s been very fun for me to do this.

I’ve been saving this one up for a couple of hours because it’s a very good question and it’s one I had to do some more extensive thinking on before I offer an answer. Luckily, I’m always contemplating things such as this anyway so that helps me determine how I’d like to approach this.
For my main influences, I’d say it’s really dependent upon what I’m doing at any given point in time. If I’m doing work for the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs then maybe I’m thinking about ‘Well, what would Tlomz do?’, or if I’m writing up an NPA Bulletin for the North Star then I could ask myself ‘How would our Minister of Defense want the happenings to be covered?’. In any sense, it’s great to bounce ideas off of people around you and those who have been around the region longer and are therefore more experienced.
I take my main influences from players who I believe are good examples in the hope that one day I can be the player who people look up to as the same example. In saying this, I’m taking about Fiji, Ghost, McM, Darc, QD, Prydania - people who you’d want to be around. It’s okay to have influences, but it’s also important that I don’t try to mimic them or be a carbon copy of people who came before me.
Perhaps I aspire to be as creative as Prydania, or maybe I want to be as insightful as Ghost. Those are influences, but it doesn’t mean I’d want to be either one of them just because they’re at a point in their careers that I’m not at yet. For the future, I have to be the one to travel down a path of my choosing. Sure, it’d be great to become as diplomatically-sound and well-spoken as McM. It’d be awesome if I could hone the talent of Fiji and really channel his abilities in the Ministry of Communications. But I’m Robespierre and I think that people really do already see me as someone who’s unique and not as if I’m trying to be someone who I’m not.
In that sense, I’m original. I’ve recently started calling myself an anomaly because I’m not what people are expecting. I’m not your average, run-of-the-mill player and for that reason I’m thankful that our community has saw past my newness to the political scene here and really taken a look at the work I can contribute. As Ghost said, my ethic speaks for itself and I know that. So I can’t stop now and I have to continue to show why I have a bright future, prove everybody who’s encouraging me right.
I’ve openly said that I don’t have one clear ambition that I’m gunning for. Instead, I aim high and capitalize on opportunity wherever I can to better serve the region, so when asked about my future I think it’d be very interesting if I were to dive more into the executive side of things in the near future. Being a Gameside Advocate would be really worthwhile too, in my opinion. You’ve had a very positive influence on me too, Bob, because without you I don’t think I’d enjoy the NPA as much. It’s the people that make time spent here worth it, so maybe to somebody someday I can be what makes it worth it.

When it comes to the Ministry of Home Affairs, it seems like we don’t always go the extra mile. Yes, our manual recruitment lists are sent out and our scripted telegrams are delivered. We welcome newcomers... but do we make an effort to connect with them? Mentors, that’s what’s underutilized! They can be so much more than just people who stand around and give directions, but it seems like we need to make more of an effort to get to know more serious mentees.
I’m not exactly sure how I would feel about this yet, as I do like how large the Ministry of Communications is right now because it means we can keep everything under an already respected banner. But, I do think that the Northern Broadcast Service could benefit from being a bit more independent and out of the reach of CO. If you wanted to create a Ministry specifically for it then I could see how it’d help provide more opportunities for participation and what all shows could be broadcasted. The major downside is that if you do that it may lessen the Ministry of Communications’ credibility since they’re not the ones handling the NBS.
NBS is about communication, so a new ministry's creation may not be warranted for this. If you could, I’d love to hear you pitch this idea to me in DMs. I’d definitely entertain the possibility of it happening, but I’d want to hear why you believe there's a need for it first.
No one person, to tell you the truth. I’ve met a lot of great people over the years and I’ve also met some not-so-great people at the same time. NationStates remains a mixed bag, so choose your role models carefully.
Also... To the best of my understanding, koalas are cuddly cutesy creatures who have an appetite for human flesh and WILL maul you if you get too close or upset them. Best to oversee them from afar at a safe distance, but feel free to admire them.
Not at all. The Chancellor of TNPU is on my staff, and even if he weren’t there would still be enough cooperation between the two institutions to push through tutorial materials. With or without the government, TNP can better itself and so those projects won’t be put at a standstill.

Just send in an application! No, really, go ahead and do it! Once you have citizenship and you’ve passed our three checks you’re eligible for the Executive Staff. If you’re interested in joining HA, WA or CO then I can help you out the moment I see your post in the thread. For CU and FA, I know people who can be there to assist you and accept you into their areas of focus. TNP may be a big place, but don’t be shy.
You can apply for membership and then spend the next half an hour asking me questions. I’d rather you do that then simply not apply at all and hesitate to become involved. In NS, you really are in charge of how much fun you have and it’s you that shapes your experience. If you never get your feet wet you’ll never know.

Volstokn Announces Claims on Lost Territory!
As the Volkish kingdom has once more had a thirst for expansion and more territory, it has decided that it must regain the territory that it has lost in the First Empire Collapse. Using layer on layer cartography, it has drawn up a map of precise claims that cover the nations of 
Korolk, Nation of greenland, and Uninhabited land. (Sadly due to RP restrictions/rules I can't colonize unclaimed land), In preparation of the restoring of these territories to its rightful owners, it has increased military Presence on the subarctic island of Suomenlinna. the 1st and 2nd fleet are being moved from the Northern Fleet to this island where they will prepare for an invasion of such territories. Along with this, large numbers of troops have been reported to be moving to the Island, an exact number is unknown but its believed to be breaking records for the amount of military personnel on the Island.

Last December, Nessie and I collaborated with the Ministry of Culture to organize a region-wide football competition– the TNP World Cup. The success of the event led to interest from many members of the community in future tournaments. One big flaw with the tournament was that it was not canon for RP, and this has been addressed with the format of the new competitions. We are pleased to announce that the Organization Committee has decided to hold future events divided between both of the region's two main RP communities– Eras and Strangereal. I hope you enjoy taking part in all future events– sign-ups for this summer's World Cup events will open soon.

The TNP Cup– It will be an annual international football competition, similar to the one held in December, but different (Note that the December 2018 tournament was a test/pilot competition to work out the nuts and bolts of how these competitions would work and highlight potential problems. These problems have been addressed and will be dealt with in future tournaments). As far as Eras and SR are concerned, the other doesn’t exist, making a single tournament impossible for canon. This is why two tournaments will be held alongside each other, with both being canon for their respective worlds. An account may only enter one of the two competitions, not both.
CEFA World Cup (Eras)- This is a 16 team tournament held in June-July where only Eras nations take part. This is canon for Eras. Four groups of four, top two advances to the knockout rounds. This event will be held on the Forum.
FIDAC World Cup (SR)- Same format as the Eras World Cup, except only Strangereal teams may participate. This event will be held on the RMB and NS site.
TNP Super Cup (NC)- A non-canon event held upon the conclusion of the two tournaments. It is just for fun, to crown the ultimate TNP football champion. The winners of the two tournaments face off in a one-off match in Magically City.
The TNP Clubs’ Cup– This will be a clubs equivalent similar to the international version. Two tournaments will be held alongside each other, with a similar Super Cup at the end.
CEFA Champions’ Cup (Eras)- More than one team may come from each nation, but no more than 3 (depending on the nation). 32 teams will take part, and a winner will be crowned. This is similar to the real-life UEFA Champions League and will follow the same format. This will run from September to May. This event will be held on the Forum.
FIDAC Champions’ Cup (SR)- Once again, the exact same as the Eras rendition but for SR teams. This event will be held on the RMB and NS site.
TNP Clubs’ Super Cup (NC)- The champions of the two Champions’ Cups face off for this non-canon trophy at the Northern Crystal Stadium in Magically City.
The Eras-based competitions will be organized by Eras' equivalent of FIFA, the 
Confederation of Eras Football Associations (CEFA). CEFA's headquarters will be located in Highton City, Highton, and the organization's members are located all across the globe. The voting for who will host the competition will open shortly between the two bidders, Goyanes and Syrixia.
Likewise, SR-based events will be organized by the Federazione Internazionale Delle Associazioni Calcistiche (FIDAC). FIDAC's headquarters are located in Port Aramis, Antiyard. FIDAC has actually been around for over a year, and its creator, Antiyard, has agreed to collaborate with us on this project. The host will be determined in the near future.
Remember you can take part to only One of those competitions, not both Eras and SR.
