10th of January, 1840. The Kaiserin's 3rd Army, located in Bosnia, started the so-called Leap of Faith operation. In a 10-day march, they have reached and surrounded the The 11th Army of the Austro-Hungarian Kingdom, led by König Karl III himself, before he was able to reach the floating city of Venice. Unable to escape, the armies collide, and for seven days, the battle raged on. On the late morning of the 18th of January, König Karl III von Habsburg lay defeated on the soil of the substate of Austrian Venice. Nobody had yet told him of the defeat of his 23,000 men in the Battle of the Northern Carpathians, and noone would, as he would be imprisoned the following day.

After the defeat of the 'rightful König' of Austro-Hungary, the loyalist forces began to dwindle, as they were defeated time and time again for the coming weeks. It wouldn't be until February that the war would truly end, but for the present day, the worst was over. On the 22nd of January, Emilia Elizabeth Victoria I von Glaßer was crowned Kaiserin of Austria and Hungary, and for the next three days, the nation finally seemed to settle down, even if the odd 'thousand-men raid' of the loyalist forces continued to be a bother.

In one of the first, and most important things that she did within months of reaching the throne, she began to once again tour the nation. She would traverse the northern lands, stopping in Hungary before going to tour the southern lands of the Kingdom. In her mind, there were few things as important as her people, as they were the ones that put her in the throne. On the 28th of January, she centralized the People's Army into the Reichswehr, and the Reichsmarine - though lacking in major developments - was formalized into the armed forces, all before touring the nation. And yet, more was to come.

One singular envoy was sent eastward, in the form of Szőke Endre. The Neureich required an ally, and the Moldovans seemed like the natural selection, as German matters had ceased to matter to the Kingdom. In private letters addressed to the Dukes and Kings of Preußen, Bayern and Hesse, the Austro-Hungarian Kingdom formalized it's retirement from the German Confederation.
