Hello there,

I would like to introduce you to a publication that was one of my initial sources of aviation knowledge.

Back in my days as an aircraft modeller [1970's], I would use these publications as a reference source for the models I built.

Bizarrely, Airfix, to date have never produced this iconic model. :blink:

This book is the first in an extensive series of aircraft profile publications.

First published in the 1960s, this publication is one of over 200 aircraft booklets in b&w with colour illustrations.

Each issue typically contains a full history of the aircraft type, a General Arrangement drawing, full specifications, colour drawings of the Camouflage Patterns & Squadron Markings (if relevant) and, often, a centrespread.

Each issue typically contains a full history of the aircraft type, a General Arrangement drawing, full specifications, colour drawings of the Camouflage Patterns & Squadron Markings (if relevant) and, often, a centrespread.

This issue is the second in an extensive series of aircraft profile publications.

"June 25th 1928 can be said to have opened the final chapter in the history of the biplane fighter in service with the US Army, for on that day flew the Boeing Model 83, forerunner of the most successful family of fighters to serve with America's forces between the two World Wars."

Detailed description of the design, development and operational history of the Boeing P-12E, an American pursuit aircraft used by the US Army Air Corps and US Navy.

Third issue of the 'Aircraft in Profile' series, launched by British company, Profile Publications, in the mid 1960s.

Detailed description of the design, development and operational history of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A, a German single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft widely used during WWII.

Well illustrated with colour drawings by P. Endsleigh Castle and R. Ward, also many black and white photos.

"The Focke-Wulf Fw 190, one of the most aesthetically attractive and functionally successful aircraft to emerge from the Second World War, was the brainchild of Kurt Tank, technical director of the Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau."
