The United Kingdom of Amie is a titanic, orderly nation, notable for its state-planned economy, soft-spoken computers, and stringent health and safety legislation. The cynical population of 21.114 billion Amieans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The medium-sized, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 27.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but sluggish Amiean economy, worth 427 trillion Monies a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, quite specialized black market in Book Publishing, Arms Manufacturing, Furniture Restoration, and Gambling. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 20,236 Monies, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Elections have been outlawed, high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, nudity is frowned upon, and only AI know why the nation is rapidly increasing its semiconductor stockpile. Crime is almost non-existent, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Amie's national animal is the Cow.

Amie is ranked 243,349^th in the world and 144^th in Jenny for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 195.24 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
