The Eternal Wolves of Etel is a titanic, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its burgeoning owl population. The hard-nosed, democratic population of 22.654 billion Etelians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 11.7%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Etelian economy, worth 989 trillion Dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Cheese Exports, and Information Technology. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 43,700 Dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, punitive tariffs protect local industry, customs turn away those considered to have an unfavourable ethnicity, and the nationalized auto industry is adept at making durable little cars nobody wants to drive. Crime is well under control. Etel's national animal is the owl, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Etel is ranked 138,866^th in the world and 2^nd in Krypton for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 494.25 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
