The Queendom of Iris is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, renowned for its burgeoning dragon population. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 9.01 billion Irisians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The tiny, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Defense, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8.2%.

The strong Irisian economy, worth 550 trillion Pokémon dollars a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Trout Farming. Average income is 61,100 Pokémon dollars, with the richest citizens earning 6.3 times as much as the poorest.

The nation's gigantic air force is both respected and feared, a major religion has been named as Iris's national religion, Leader has just been declared ruler of Iris in an international press conference, and Iris has designated Iris City as its capital city. Crime is moderate, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Iris's national animal is the dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Iris is ranked 266,679^th in the world and 3,774^th in Ambition for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring zero on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
