The Republic of Join Osiris is a mammoth, efficient nation, notable for its spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-working, cynical population of 8.365 billion Join Osirisians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The relatively small, pro-business, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Welfare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 10.1%.

The very strong Join Osirisian economy, worth 453 trillion scarabs a year, is led by the Gambling industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Trout Farming. Average income is 54,267 scarabs, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 246,970 per year while the poor average 7,289, a ratio of 33.9 to 1.

Crime is a problem. Join Osiris's national animal is the scarab, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Join Osiris is ranked 84,451^st in the world and 1^st in Join Osiris for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 36.26 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
