The Deyi Sultanate of Jazur is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by Sultan Llamu ibn Rama Al Deyi with an iron fist, and notable for its enslaved workforce, infamous sell-swords, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 4.218 billion Jazuris are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized morass — juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Asumelí. The average income tax rate is 92.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Jazuri economy, worth 398 trillion rupees a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, highly specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, Basket Weaving, and Cheese Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 94,550 rupees, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Parties that are too noisy are broken up to prevent disturbing wildlife, many Jazuris are their brothers' keepers, glamping Jazuris won't sleep in a tent that doesn't include a Jacuzzi, and it is illegal to carry an umbrella when the official weather forecast predicts a sunny day. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Jazur's national animal is the camel, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Islam.

Jazur is ranked 236,438th in the world and 301st in Refugia for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 1.46 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
