The Absolute Deiuocracy of Mienlike is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by Gru Deiu with an iron fist, and notable for its teetotalling pirates, public floggings, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 3.651 billion Mienlikeans are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Isolatia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 29.9%.

The very strong Mienlikean economy, worth 250 trillion Klephs a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Uranium Mining, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 68,499 Klephs, with the richest citizens earning 9.3 times as much as the poorest.

Doctors are encouraged to 'pull the plug' any time the government has a budget crisis, war is made in the name of love, movie references are legally admissible in court, and the criminal underworld is awash with sausage smuggling. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force. Mienlike's national animal is the Polar Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Deiuism.
